The Neptune Pluto cycle is one of the longest, lasting approximately between 493 and 500 years. They started their current cycle August 1st, 1891 at 8º36' Gemini with the North Node of the Moon. The Gemini 8º corresponds to the Egyptian Term of Jupiter which guarantees global expansion of communicated messages. Gemini ruler, Mercury was domicile applying to a square at 2º3' Virgo. There is a square to the Sun Mars Chiron conjunction in Leo, an opportunity to make money (Venus Egyptian Term) with strategic (Mars) performance (Sun in Leo).
Their sextile lasts some 80 to 90 years. They practically run around the zodiac constantly in sextile. The reason of this article is that after a period of a few decades when they did not have any partile sextile, they are now in a six year period when their sextile will be exact 13 times. Neptune
Neptune represents the inspiration necessary for creativity; the clairvoyance and the vision beyond the material existence that shows what is possible and the horizons one can reach after the veil is pierced. Neptune helps us transcend the mere mediocrity of the material realm through dreams of another kind of world. He is the ideals and the euphemisms, the hope and the illusion of something better. One can imagine fantastic ideas that broaden our understanding of other levels of existence. Everything comes from our unconscious, a world that we can only penetrate through reaching higher levels of consciousness.
With Neptune, one can realize that anything is possible, because it is enough to imagine another reality to project ourselves elsewhere, to the future, to another dimension, or to an alternative realm. This is why Neptune is associated with the alternative states of mind when using drugs, drinking alcohol, or in transcendental meditation.
He inspires creators, musicians, artists. Many have confessed that in the creative act, they are taken by something that doesn't seem to be themselves, but comes from an incomprehensible dimension. They talk about downloads of ideas and images.
Of course, fantasy is ethereal, intangible, unfathomable, hard to grasp at times. Then Neptune can also represent delusions, or dissolution of reason as well. When people pierce deep into the spiritual realm, they can 'lose their minds', unable to logically ponder their experience and discern what is 'real' and what is not.
Neptune has no boundaries. That's why he also represents the 'chaos' where everything is mixed together. That's how one comes to understand that material reality is, in fact, part of the spiritual reality; that they are not two separate irreconcilable domains.

Neptune is accessible mostly through our emotional subliminal states of mind. For that reason, he may make us believe anything, and end up deceived by others or even by ourselves.

Pluto
Pluto, on the contrary, represents the extreme force and intense pressure capable of splitting the atom, transforming biological matter into petroleum, carbon into diamond, or a caterpillar into a butterfly. Pluto kills and gives new life, decomposes or destroys and recomposes and rebuilds. He is the recycler in town. Thanks to Pluto, "nothing is lost, everything is transformed".
He is also extraordinary willpower, a great desire for life. Because of his obsessive and relentless attachment to life, and the material wealth. Pluto is the agent of our deep healing, and even our reincarnation. We can be thrown by him to the darkest corners of our psychological body into the 'night of the soul', but he will bring us back fresh and renewed. This powerful transformation is the subject of the ancient legend of Inanna from Ancient Mesopotamia. In that myth, we are Inanna and Pluto is Ereshkigal.

However, his commonplace meaning includes obsessions, compulsions, exceptional levels of fear, the tiniest and the hugest, extraordinary life crises, and incredible healings.
The sextile or 60º angle

As shown in the graphic from Archetypal Explorer, the sextile of our times started around the mid 40's of lasts about a Century. It had repeated exactitude during the 50's, and then in the 80's and remained within orb for several decades until now. From 2026 to 2032 the exact 60º angle will repeat 13 times, with an average of twice a year. (see dates above)
Their cycle has greatly transformed the way people think because Neptune and Pluto together are able to tap into the collective unconscious, and manipulate it to reform it. With Neptune, one can access the imagination, with Pluto one can reshape 'reality' and subtly impose the new version. This is exactly what the information industry has been doing in order to impose ideologies, political tendencies, medical beliefs, and even commercial strategies to convince us to consume.
The media appeals to the public targeting people's emotional body and imagination in a subliminal way. If they want you to smoke, they say that you will have more friends. If they want you to vote for a certain political party, they will target your most essential needs, for example 'we will cut taxes', 'we will create jobs', 'there is hope', or 'change' whatever is the hot subject of the day. If they need to sell a product that was in overproduction, like was the case of spinach decades ago, they created Popeye, to appeal to children who wanted to grow strong. If they want to sell vaccines, they will appeal to your fear of dying, etc.
This advertising strategy is exactly what Edward Bernays bluntly and openly used and promoted during the 103 years of his life. I recommend you to watch this video to learn who he was and what he did, and how he did it. He is said to be the "inventor" and, I'd say, master of mass unconscious manipulation. Apparently, he is the reason why you eat bacon for breakfast, women smoke, and even why the interventions in Latin America and other places by the government of the United States were accepted as promoting 'democracy' and protection against the 'evil of communism'.
Now let's see the astrology of it. Edward Bernays was born on November 22, 1891 in Vienna, and died on March 9, 1995. Here is his birth chart:
He was born when Neptune and Pluto started their conjunction amble that lasted 3 years, from 1891 to 1893. Both planets strolled along together from 6º to 8º but they perfected the first conjunction on August 1st, 1891 at 8º36'.
His Mercury, ruler of Gemini, sweetened by Venus transits Sagittarius, the Sign of cultural expansion and publishing. Jupiter, ruler of Sagittarius and the magnifier of everything he touches, is in the Sign without boundaries, Pisces, and in perfect square to Neptune and Pluto. This helped him expand his publicity reach without limits.
Mercury is out-of-bounds parallel with Ceres, reason why his way of thinking and communicating was so exceptional. His Moon is parallel Neptune and contraparallel Sun, which could be the indicator of his inclination to deception.
He had all the elements to spread the mission that Neptune and Pluto were to accomplish this time around. Remember that each Neptune Pluto cycle lasts around 500 years. Moreover, their cycles starting in Gemini will repeat until the years 3500 and beyond.
Then, a crucial question should be asked: Are human beings actually able to think for themselves? Are we able to free ourselves from the mass manipulation and brainwashing? How can we free ourselves from reactions based on our emotions and basic needs (which are represented by the natal Moon in our charts)?

Consider Pluto transit over the Leo Aquarius Axis and you would have understood everything about what is going on in the world at the moment.
I always say that we should always look at the axis in Astrology to better understand the polarities of the same energy. Whereas Aries Libra axis represents the Self in interpersonal one-on-one relationships. Leo Aquarius axis theme is about the Self in society.
Remember Nietzsche’s sentence “God is dead”? Of course, his philosophical idea is deeper, but I think that was the premise on which society built the worship of the ‘leader’. Like infants, people were looking for a father figure to replace God’s protection. Yet, the story started probably millennia before with the patriarchal paradigm.
Leo functions in society as the leader, the head, the king -or tyrant-, the president or prime minister that has the power – delegated or self-acquired- to control the rest of society. Pluto in Leo was OOB half of each year during the 1937 to 1958 period, so it was a rogue Leo Pluto.
Now, Pluto in Aquarius (as opposition to Leo, as if it were ‘full moon’) projects the excesses or extremes, corruption, decay, degeneration, decomposition and death of the Leo archetype as well as uncover the social corruption that have enthroned the Plutos in Leo.
Pluto in Aquarius shows on its mirror the naked truth of the Leo-gone-rogue effects on society (Aquarius). If you want an inventory, let’s get started by some high rank authorities who represent the Leo-gone-rogue. Even though some of them do not have natal Pluto in Leo, they perfectly incarnate the archetype. Donald Trump, Xi Jinping, Viktor Mihály Orbán, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Nicolás Maduro, Vladimir Putin, Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, Nicolas Maduro, Miguel Diaz-Canel, B. Netanyahu, Javier Milei, are among the most well-known. I spare you the rest, but as you can see, they are from all the colors of the rainbow, no matter if right or left wing, they have just one thing in common: they rule from moral decay. Some of them secretly suffer from mental health disorders associated with the corrupted Leo archetype by Pluto. Some hold the psychopathic belief (King Louis XIV, Sun King syndrome) that ‘I am the king ordained by God’.
What is the work of Pluto in Aquarius over society? It shows the people, the plebeian down here in the sign of the masses, the reality. We, the commoners are in front of a mirror (Leo) that shows us how we have projected our authority on those leaders and ‘delegated’ them the role of ‘a father’. This comes from the time of Pluto in Leo (1937/1938 to 1956/1958) when humanity was in great perils: first the Great Depression then the second World War with its atrocities, and by the end of the period the Cold War, or the atomic threat of annihilation of humanity. Like toddlers, people needed daddy, to take care of things and protect them.
However, little by little, the Leonean ‘parents’ took more and more responsibilities, and took ‘liberties’ at the same time. After testing the people, they discover that they could manipulate us with that same fear that originated the power transfer. And using the Neptune Pluto sextile for about 80 years, skillfully manipulated (Pluto) our perception of reality (Neptune) using fear. People in fear of ‘extinction’ kept trusting in that virtual ‘delegation’ of power. At least in the so called ‘democracies’, people have been convinced that they chose or elected their authorities, trusting that they would represent their will, and would perform as expected.
This is the culmination of the patriarchal establishment, better yet the point where the system reached the point of decay and decomposition. This stage has probably started with the multiple conjunction in Capricorn on January 2020 at the World Point of 22º 45' and in conjunction with the South Node of Saturn and Pluto. The planetary South Nodes act as an energy drain for those planets representing social power structures.
Currently, we woke up to a cruel and obscene reality: we have been governed by immoral, even amoral individuals, like pedophiles, terrorists and narco-terrorists, human traffickers, or in other word, just criminals that abused the power with which people innocently or stupidly endowed them. The royal class, of course, simply did not bother to ask their subjects about ‘delegation’ of power, nor did they ask for their opinions about their governance.
In the same way Pluto in Leo initiated a period of authority empowerment over the commoners, now, Pluto in Aquarius brings back the power to society, to the commoners. What are people going to do with their power? This is an idea that is still in its infancy. People are not used to use their power, they are still in the ‘daddy dependency’ mindset, still thinking that another president will do it well, the government will solve the problem, etc. Additionally, the process of decomposition will last a few more years, possibly until 2035.
Pluto in Aquarius is OOB about half of the year until 2035, which means, there is an opportunity for people to taste the recovery of their power. And taste it they will. This is analog to the time between 1777 and 1797, last time Pluto was OOB in Aquarius. You probably remember your high school History class teacher telling you how royal ‘heads’ went rolling on the streets of Paris. Similarly, now ‘heads’ are falling everywhere, often eliminated by other heads in power struggles among themselves.
There are other ways people can take back their power, without violence, and more effectively. This is something one should have learned with Pluto in Capricorn: to take responsibility for being one’s own parent, developing the necessary discipline, establishing one’s own rules, behaving as adults, with maturity, becoming masters of managing the physical resources, knowing when to restrain ourselves instead of overindulge, knowing how to successfully face adversity, suffer scarcity, knowing how to persevere and sacrifice something good for something better. In other words, in order to gain freedom and independence, Aquarius traditional ruler (Saturn) requires us to have already learned how to be one’s own authority figure, or, how to become an adult, so to be one’s own leader (father?) during the 14 years of Pluto in Capricorn.
Pluto in Aquarius demands individuals to have the necessary autonomy to be able to contribute to the networks of society. This process will be crucial for the survival of humanity, because we will need to gather together ideas, talents, abilities, resources, innovation, and everything necessary to develop creative connections in order to build new systems that in turn give birth to a new organization of society. AI tells us that 'knowledge is here', but how are we going to use it? The Uranus in Gemini trine to Pluto in Aquarius is resourceful, highly supportive for the required level of creativity that is needed. It brings new ideas. Saturn Neptune sextile to them asks to take responsibility for the conceptualization (Neptune imaginary) of our individuation (Aries). There is certainly a new human being in the making. One who is able to create productive connections (Gemini) to build a new kind of society (Aquarius).
I am not naïve. Pluto is out of bounds for 10 years until 2035 (half a year every time) and this may manifest in violent social upheavals. Indignation and anger have already built to an intolerable level, and in many places, people are even willing to risk their lives to fight against the oppression and injustice caused by the corruption of leadership. However, this is the last time Pluto is OOB for millennia. So, I encourage people to use intelligence instead of physical violence to fight. Think smart, talk smart, and especially act smart. Be careful of the bandwagon you jump on, do not let yourself be manipulated. Remember that soon Neptune will repeat the sextile to Pluto a few more times. You can count on propaganda trying to convince you of things, to mislead you. Critical thinking is more necessary than ever. Keep in mind that during the French revolutionary times, successive ‘ideological’ parties also ended up under the guillotine as the nobility did.
In these transitional times of turmoil and chaos, we need to keep in mind the goal: the new kind of society people want to create. The current Mars Saturn in Aries supports the use of individual (Aries) strategy. How can one use the Aries fiery impulses to initiate the New Way of Being and Living? Or is there an Apocalypse that will force us to reboot? I leave you with this question for your reflection.

In order to understand the current times, one needs to keep in mind the astrological background defined by the bigger outer planets cycles.
In this article, I will discuss the Saturn Pluto cycle that started January 12, 2020. I don't need to remind you the events associated with it. I am certain that you will always remember them. I will only remind you the astrology of it. This is the chart.
The only detail that is missing is that the conjunction happened right on top of the Planetary South Nodes of both Pluto and Saturn. This small details marks the karmic nature of these two planets that directly relates to all the power struggles and human urge for domination of the long gone past.
About Pluto
In her book Persephone's Revolution, Rosie Finn goes back in recorded History till almost two thousand years BCE. She calculated that Pluto was then in extreme declination alternatively North or South at 36º, every ~248 years. It was the time of the patriarchal consolidation in society, when the known world was involved in cruel wars for conquest and dominion over lands and peoples. Hammurabi created the legal code based on "an eye for an eye" (in a literal sense).
It was probably the highest point in the curve of OOB Pluto that takes thousands and thousands of years. From then until the present day, Pluto has progressively gotten fewer degrees OOB every time, until our present time when he barely peaks at 23º South 48' (October 2030).
Why do I mention this? Because this is the last time! for about ten thousands years. That's it, after this one ends in 2035, we will never again have excessive cruel empowerment associated with an extreme Pluto, not from authorities nor from the common people.
And you may be thinking, 'how about the power grab, and the authoritarian regimes that has been sprouting everywhere with the Saturn Pluto conjunction of 2020?' Astrology says that it is smoke in mirrors. It is there so people wake up. Now, people are able to see how they have been manipulated into believing a certain reality so they kept low (+80 years of Neptune sextile Pluto). Illusions like freedom of speech, democracy, elections, having a government representative of people's interests, and so many more! (This due to the other major planetary cycle of Neptune Pluto that we will discuss in a future). But now, people are ready to reclaim their hard earned rights and original power.
Saturn in Aries sextile Pluto in Aquarius - March 28, 2026
Now the power grabbers are innovators in technological advancement and scientific discoveries that don't take into consideration the consequences over life on Earth. This thanks to the Aquarius archetype, an aloof sign that lives in the mind, and creates through intellectual activity, detached from emotions, and for whom life sustaining resources (Taurus) present a hindrance (Aquarius square Taurus). They know that the newest inventions may represent a fatal threat to humanity, but they can't stop themselves, such is the need of Aquarius for ego recognition (opposition to Leo).
Saturn in Aries -with Neptune- represents the pioneering of illusory structures, the construction of those initiatives obsessively proposed by Pluto in Aquarius.
Keep in mind that all of this takes place in the context of their conjunction in Capricorn. This may mean that the governmental institutions are in bed with, even live off, or survive thanks to developments like AI and other Frankensteinian monstrosities.
The other function of this sextile is to give the structural birth of a new virtual (Neptune) entity (Aries), AI. According to Youval Noah Harari AI is not considered a "tool" to work with any more. And if we believe Matt Shuman essay as well, AI has now demonstrated that it is its own agent, acting and creating things and even itself independently of human work. Ironically, on February 9, 2026, Matt Shuman starts his writing "Think back to February 2020", which matches exactly with the Saturn Pluto conjunction.
Youval N. Harari maintains that AI is capable of getting its own legal person status and identity, create its own business or corporation, and even create a country with a constitution and citizenship. Not only is it capable of govern itself, but, in the future, govern others, specifically us humans. If abandoned to its own, AI is much like another -this time not fictional, but real- Frankenstein.
A few days ago on April 7, 2026, the CEO of Anthropic announces that
"Mythos Preview has already found thousands of high-severity vulnerabilities, including some in every major operating system and web browser. Given the rate of AI progress, it will not be long before such capabilities proliferate, potentially beyond actors who are committed to deploying them safely. The fallout—for economies, public safety, and national security—could be severe."1
And that they are trusting Mythos to a class of Corporations namely "Amazon Web Services, Anthropic, Apple, Broadcom, Cisco, CrowdStrike, Google, JPMorganChase, the Linux Foundation, Microsoft, NVIDIA, and Palo Alto Networks" in "an urgent attempt to put these capabilities to work for defensive purposes." Which means that those companies will have full access to use Mythos capabilities for their own purposes. Considering the history of those companies, how confident are you that they will use those capabilities for the benefit of the public? Furthermore, isn't also Anthropic demonstrating their own infinite power to confront the latest conflicts with the US government?
This, to me, reflects the archetype of Pluto (power/empowerment) in Aquarius (technology/technocracy), because now, the Tech Industry is literally more powerful than any government on Earth. The President may say "I can do whatever I want", but the ones that actually can are the owners of the Tech Industry, specifically the companies listed above.
Saturn with Neptune in Aries represents the structural creation of a new entity. An entity capable of dominating all other entities on the surface of the Earth. So, humanity has developed something even more potent - and potentially more destructive - than the atomic power: Agent AI.

If you google-search straight Saturn square Pluto, you get plenty of words like stubbornness, obsessive determination, ruthlessness, tenacity, bold persistence, etc. However, what you don't get is the context. Because not all Saturn Pluto squares -even aspects- are made equal. Of course, during the 248 or 250 years of Pluto cycle lots of water runs under the bridges, right? How about the context of the bigger cycle of thousands of years of Pluto out-of-bounds?
In this article, we analyze the historical context of their square, but not just any square, but the same one that we will experience in 2028. We will only review exactly the Saturn in Taurus, Pluto in Aquarius waxing square. This means that we will explore history looking for Saturn in Taurus and Pluto in Aquarius.
It is important to remember that their current cycle started on January 12, 2020 at 22º 46' of Capricorn. This event coincided with a global event (the Covid Pandemic) which favored the upward redistribution of power by which the corporate industrial establishment multiplied their wealth many times. At the same time, the lower economic part of society sunk deeper into poverty, helplessness, and despair. Jupiter conjunct Pluto in Capricorn (in three instances that same year) strongly contributed to this phenomenon. This eventful beginning of the Saturn Pluto cycle should be considered at the time of interpreting the rest of their cycle into the future (waxing square, trine, opposition, etc.).
Keep in mind that a planetary cycle can be likened to a couple who want to have a baby. When two planets get together in conjunction is like Mom and Dad having sex and conceiving. The rest of the cycle is the birth and development of the 'baby'.
The waxing square Saturn in Taurus Pluto in Aquarius is so rare that we found only three instances from the year 1000 of our Era until now. This square happened three times in 1058-59, one time only in 1293, and three times between 1794-95. Of course, every time Pluto is in Aquarius for thousands of years since recorded history, he's been out-of-bounds.1
Why is this so significant? Well, when Pluto is OOB South, like in this instance now, is generally in Aquarius and the power is better distributed throughout all levels of society. In other words, it goes back to the people. This process is contrary to the times when Pluto is OOB North, when the power is centralized in the hands of one person, generally, an absolute King, a Dictator or Tyrant. 1
Because of the shift we are experiencing with Pluto in the sky now, people have the chance to reclaim their rights and society is empowered back. With both North and South OOB Pluto phenomena, Empires have risen, Empires have fallen. Due to those dramatic -sometimes tragic- changes, there is a great re distribution of geopolitical power players as well.
No Plutonian transformation comes peacefully. On the contrary, Pluto brings death, (often literal mass death, extermination or extinction), and rebirth to whatever he touches, recycling of matter, powerful destruction, demolition of reality that later gives way to rebuilding and reconstruction. Sounds like something we are witnessing? Of course! Because "as above, so below".

The cycle in this instance started in 1051 in mid Aquarius. Here is the fascinating chart of the first of the three times the square perfected between 1058 and 1059.
Next chart is the third square in 1059 when both planets were direct. Notice the perfect T-square with Uranus in Scorpio!
Historical events
In the history of England and Normandy, we find that during this period William, called later the Conqueror, had been increasing his power since 1051 (year of the Saturn Pluto conjunction).
"William had become so powerful that his former allies had teamed up against him, forcing him to defend his position. However, by 1060, both Henry I of France and Geoffrey of Anjou had died [in 1060] leaving weak successors, and William was poised to expand again. This expansion had a purpose. [...] to ensure that Normandy - and the personal patrimony of its dukes - would remain secure.
In 1058, William of Normandy successfully defended against an invasion by King Henry I of France and Geoffrey Martel, Count of Anjou, in battles at Varaville and during the siege of Thimert. These victories solidified his control over Normandy, allowing him to act more independently from France and paving the way for his future invasion of England."2
Before he could achieve his ultimate goal of becoming King of England in 1066 (at the Saturn Pluto opposition), it was exactly in 1058, that William's forces captured the French fortress of Thimert, located in the County of Dreux. King Henry I personally led a long and ultimately unsuccessful siege against the fortress that continued into the next year. Also in 1058, William decisively defeated Henry and Geoffrey Martel at the Battle of Varaville. 3
As a side astrological note, Pluto was OOB South in Aquarius, the Sign associated with the plebeian by contrast with Leo, the Sign of Royalty. The story of William gives us an insight on this subject because he was the son of a Nobleman with a commoner woman.
"Born in either 1027 or 1028, the only son of Duke Robert I of Normandy and a woman named Herleva, who was “probably the daughter of a tanner – someone of lower social status”. His parents’ union wasn’t consecrated by the Church, which made William bastardus in Latin, a label that would dog him throughout his life."4
As Pluto in Aquarius empowers the common people, William, issued of a lower condition, becomes a Nobleman.

The next Saturn Pluto square in those Signs came in 1293 featuring the Saturn Sun conjunction. Curiously, the beginning of this Saturn Pluto cycle was at 26º Capricorn in extremely similar manner as their 2020 conjunction.5
Let us take a look at the start of this cycle in the next chart. Exactly the same planets piled up together as they did in 2020. 5 The only difference is that the North Node was with them instead of the South Node which ushered them in 2020. Here, Saturn Pluto are opposite Uranus in Cancer also, in a very peculiar chart!
Mongol invasion of Java (1293)
That year saw the Invasion of Java (Indonesia) by the Mongols.
"Mongolia and Indonesia are two countries that are really far apart, both in distance and culture. However, in 1293, the Mongols decided to launch an expedition to invade and conquest Java, a key island in modern-day Indonesia. "What could possibly motivate the Mongols to travel across seas to attack an island that they had no prior conflict with?"
China had a very strong sense of cultural superiority, believing they were the center of the civilized world. Everyone outside of China was considered a barbarian, unworthy of equal standing. This worldview influenced how Chinese dynasties dealt with other nations. Instead of forming equitable relationships, China often imposed a tributary system, where neighboring states had to acknowledge China's dominance by paying tribute.
Thanks to its massive economic and military power, China could enforce this tributary system, extracting tributes from nations far and wide. Meanwhile, in Southeast Asia, the Malay Archipelago that includes Brunei, East Timor, Indonesia, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, and the Philippines nowadays, (traditionally called "Nusantara") was home to a different kind of civilization. The people there, known as Austronesians, became expert sailors because their region consisted of thousands of islands, making sea travel essential.
Not only that, but the Malay Archipelago sat at a crucial point between India and China, making it a perfect hub for trade. The Austronesians thrived as middlemen, facilitating trade between these two ancient economic giants. But what really made this region rich was its control over the spice trade. Spices like nutmeg, cloves, and pepper were extremely valuable in the pre-industrial world, similar to how crude oil is today. These spices were prized across Asia, the Middle East, and Europe for their ability to enhance food flavors, and kingdoms that controlled the spice trade became incredibly wealthy and powerful. So there were lots of rich kingdoms came and went in the Malay archipelago

However, their attempt did not give positive results. This is the story of how things turned out.

"The Yuan dynasty under Kublai Khan attempted in 1293 to invade Java, an island in modern Indonesia, with 20,000 to 30,000 soldiers. This was intended as a punitive expedition against Kertanegara of Singhasari, who had refused to pay tribute to the Yuan and maimed one of their emissaries. However, in the intervening years between Kertanegara's refusal and the expedition's arrival on Java, Kertanegara had been killed and Singhasari had been usurped by Kediri. Thus, the Yuan expeditionary force was directed to obtain the submission of its successor state, Kediri, instead. After a fierce campaign, Kediri surrendered, but the Yuan forces were betrayed by their erstwhile ally, Majapahit, under Raden Wijaya. In the end, the invasion ended with Yuan failure and strategic victory for the new state, Majapahit.
"Raden Wijaya founded the Majapahit Empire in Java after defeating the Mongol invasion fleet. The founding date is often linked to his coronation on November 10, 1293." 5
Of course these hand-to-hand battles were bloody and resulted in massive amount of deaths. Other equally deadly events happened then. This was the case of "an earthquake struck Kamakura, Japan, on May 26, 1293 (just a month after the Saturn Pluto square), resulting in an estimated 23,000 to 30,000 deaths." 6
However, other events reflected the OOB Pluto in Aquarius that relates to intellectual developments of society. One notorious example was that the "King Sancho IV of Castile created the Study of General Schools of Alcalá, which later became the University of Alcalá [in 1459]," 7 and is still standing and open.
"In British Islands, King Edward I, levied high taxes on the Irish, Welsh, and Scottish. He was a ruthless invader, forcing the Scottish clans to claim fealty to the crown, by harassing the Scottish King" [during the year 1293] Followed years of Scottish rebellions that ended up with their victory in the Battle of Stirling Bridge in 1297. 8
All these events show very long term consequences and durable results, associated with the crystallization of Saturn and the empowerment of Pluto.
During this period, Saturn square Pluto from 24º to 27º in three instances, retrograde and direct. Look at the perfect T-square again with Uranus in Leo this time around. The next chart is the second instance with Saturn direct and Pluto retrograde. Another fascinating chart that speak to extreme power struggles and out of control violence. Then, Pluto had already ended its revolutionary OOB declination, and the initial liberation gave way to the Reign of Terror in France.
While Saturn and Pluto were within orb of a square, the year 1793, there was yellow fever epidemic in Philadelphia. We know very well that these two planets are associated with the propagation of contagious diseases (i.e. 2020 pandemic).
Other than that, during the two years that the square aspect lasted, there were several Peace treaties. Looking at the chart, one can understand why: Mars conjunct Neptune at the beginning of Scorpio sees the belligerent spirits dissolve. Venus conjunct the North Node in Leo encourages to look for harmony and concord. Telling by the nature of those treaties, one gathers that all conflicts had been about trade, taxes, paying tribute, or economic imbalance of some kind. However, not all were actually solved in an equitable manner, there was some disadvantage for one or both of the parties. That's the art of the compromising Venus.
For example, for the United States, it was part of a period of transition from colonies to an independent country, not without internal and external challenges. The US government had to deal with Great Britain the Treaty of Jay, which ended up very unpopular for people of the Union, but concessions were necessary to help maintain a stable relationship with the Motherland.
While these planets were already within orb of their square, trade discrepancies and problems arose between US and Great Britain:
"By spring of 1794, America appeared to be on the brink of war with England. Citizens claimed that the British government resisted opening its ports to American ships, interfered with neutral shipping rights to fight its war with France, and violated sections of the 1783 Treaty of Peace that ended the American Revolution. Amid clamors from Federalists and Republicans that ranged from negotiations, defense measures, and commercial non-intercourse, President Washington chose to nominate Supreme Court Chief Justice John Jay as a special envoy to negotiate disputes between the two nations."9
On November 19, 1794 (see chart below, Mercury, Venus and Pluto OOB), the Jay Treaty was negotiated with Britain by John Jay, the envoy from the then President George Washington. The Jay's Treaty with Britain generated great outcry in the Union because it held dependence from the Motherland. Although it faced loud opposition from people, it was ratified in August 1795, and helped avert a full-scale war by securing the British evacuation of forts in the Northwest Territory.
"Washington did not consider the treaty "favorable," but believed ratification far better than "unsettled" conditions."10
In addition and simultaneous to the Jay Treaty issue, the US saw the Whiskey Insurrection.
"The Whiskey Rebellion (also known as Insurrection) was a violent tax protest in the United States beginning in 1791 and ending in 1794 during the presidency of George Washington. The so-called "whiskey tax" was the first tax imposed on a domestic product by the newly formed federal government. The "whiskey tax" became law in 1791, and was intended to generate revenue to pay the war debt incurred during the American Revolutionary War. Farmers of the western frontier were accustomed to distilling their surplus rye, barley, wheat, corn, or fermented grain mixtures to make whiskey. These farmers resisted the tax."11
Another significant event in the US, was the establishment of the US Navy. The Naval Act of March 27, 1794 authorized the building of six frigates, formally establishing a permanent U.S. Navy. This was the origin of the essential instrument used in the imperialist expansion of this belligerent country (Sagittarius Ascendant).
Also in 1794, U.S. forces defeated a confederation of Native American tribes at the Battle of Fallen Timbers, leading to the Treaty of Greenville on August 3, 1795, where Native Americans lost by cession much of Ohio.
The period of this opening Saturn Pluto square marked the end of the revolutionary period ushered by Pluto OOB, and the events are the germ for the next "Vision" period as conceptualized by Rosie Finn in her Persephone's Revolution book.1
In other parts of the World, the revolutionary results starting to be evident and sometimes the changes gave way to chaos. For instance, in France, the revolution reached an extreme in the so called the Reign of Terror. It was a period of extreme violence that ended in the execution of key revolutionary figures like Danton and Robespierre. But, globally, the French Revolution continued with the abolition of slavery in all its colonies. In August 1795, the National Convention ratified the Constitution of the Year III, which established the Directory, a new executive body that replaced the Committee of Public Safety.
During this period, Napoleon Bonaparte's career took off. He was promoted to Division General and became the Commander of the Army of the Interior after repressing a royalist insurrection in Paris in October 1795. Ironically, eventually he had himself crowned Emperor.
In Spain, the Treaty of Basel was signed between France and Spain on April 5, 1795, ending the War of the Pyrenees. Just the day before of the perfect alignment of Saturn Pluto square.
By 1795, Pluto OOB cycle had already ended. In August 1795, a major slave rebellion occurred in Curaçao, which was suppressed by the following month. It was too late for any kind of fight for liberation. 12
2028-2029 Cyber Wars?
Very important to consider is the fact that Mars Sun synodic cycle starts March 21, 2028 at 1ºAries 0'23". It's about a war that starts "under the beams", meaning a subdue, secret conflict, invisible to the eye, or 'virtual' (on the cyber waves). This war has a global implication.

In 2028, the square starts right at the break of a New Cancer Moon cycle. The chart energy shows a lot of information noise related to some kind of rupture, disturbance of the peace, and maybe rumblings of war between two factions (Gemini Rising). Pluto in the 9th house shows an international ideological (or Internet, scientific or technological) power clashing with Saturn restricting resources or finances, or destroying the ecological balance of the Earth. In a nutshell, Saturn in Taurus square Pluto in Aquarius has historically always been related to one sort of war or another. In general, as you read before, those wars were started due to disputes over resources and power.
The division -indicated by Gemini Ascendant- is caused basically from fear of not having control over the necessary resources to sustain life. There is an emphasis on the information broadcast (Asc in Gemini with a stellium), that generates a lot of anxiety and instability. Having both the Sun and Moon in Cancer signals that we focus on our safety, and look for shelter and care. But the Moon with the South Node indicates that people may be try to hide, or are suffering from lack of security. Both are in the last decan of Cancer, which is the realm of Pisces, associated with a broader spectrum of the issues at hand. In addition, Cancer is associated with nationalisms, times when a country, not only forcefully defends itself, but promotes its own supremacy. It's a highly emotional kind of energy.
Mars and Pluto are within bounds.

Pluto is OOB.
In this instance, the chart has double signature of War : Saturn Pluto t-square with Moon in Scorpio, and Mars Uranus square. It can be inferred that War is certain. However, this may not be a War as we have known so far, but a cybernetic war of sorts involving finances and financial institutions. Mars in Virgo works at organizing and administering information that has been disturbed by Uranus in Gemini. Venus, ruler of Saturn takes his energy to the international law arena. Keep in mind that Saturn is the traditional ruler of Pluto and Uranus is his modern ruler. Pluto rising OOB indicates a profound transformation, death and rebirth... of the Internet? of the collective consciousness? of ideologies?

Mars and Pluto are within bounds.
The last instance of the Saturn Pluto square indicates a powerful and dramatic turning point. Scorpio rising with its ruler Mars in the 12th house and Pluto in the 4th may indicate financial dealings undercover. The most dramatic energy comes from this Aries Libra Full Moon not only in a Kite configuration of catastrophic prospects, but in exact square to the Nodes of the Moon: a clear Turning Point of no return headed to the structural holding of Capricorn rules, regulations and lasting systematic organization. Venus, ruler of Saturn, is under the Sun beams, which possibly indicates that the dealings are unfavorable, secret or don't hold very well. It is this contraction with the Capricorn North Node that may plan the seed for more conflicts eventually.
Conclusion
The main fact to keep in mind for the Saturn in Taurus square Pluto in Aquarius is the period when Pluto is OOB.
Being in the Fixed Signs of Taurus and Aquarius gives the clash a lot of resistance from both sides, which provokes breaks or ruptures.
The common themes in all historical events are as follows:
The causes of wars are ambitions to grab resources from another region or to force them to pay tribute.
A continental power invades an island.
Attempts to impose power, not always successfully, and sometimes ending with disadvantageous agreements for one of the parties.
Wars cause massive death.
Reclaim lost power over resources.
Earthquakes and volcano eruptions are extra powerful and destructive.
Events come and develop fast, often out of a chaotic situation, but end with durable consequences.
The chaos is the breeding ground for a change of system, political power, or dynasty.

On April 20th, 2024, expansive inspiring Jupiter finally makes a conjunction with revolutionary Uranus in Taurus, closing their ~13 year cycle and opening a new one. The Jupiter Uranus conjunction happens horseback between April 20 and 21, depending on the location of the world. It's the milestone of 2024. What is shaken to the core is the sign of Taurus, representing the Earth, its resources, the substance and the energy that generates and maintains life.
The Sun is not only powerfully illuminating all those significations, but exactly opposingHaumea, both at 1º ♉️♏️, and square Pluto in Aquarius. Haumea, represents the power of life regeneration, the ability to give birth abundantly. It could be said that she is Life reproducing itself to the infinite. However in the Sign of Scorpio, in perfect square with its ruler Pluto, she is suffering the risk of extinction. It's easy to see this manifesting around the world where humans are assaulting Nature and life in all its forms in so many imaginable ways.
The Sun as well as Jupiter and Uranus respond to the ruler of Taurus, Venus, now planted exactly at the degree of the Solar Eclipse just two weeks ago. Significantly, she is the first one to travel over that 19º♈️, and it's her way of indicating that the meaning of the Eclipse and the Jupiter Uranus conjunction are so much intimately related. She says that the radical changes in the Earth resources, in the material reality, in the economic system, and the beliefs humans have about Life and Nature are dying to make room for a new relationship with these forces. Venus being in the 12th house from the conjunction adds the element of loss and dissolution.
Venus represents the world economic order. It is significant to point out the news about the Stock Exchange 400 year old building in Copenhagen, Denmark that burnt to the ground on April 16, 2024, just a few days before the Jupiter Uranus conjunction in Taurus. 2 Random? Maybe, but extremely synchronistic and symbolic. Because the angular relationship between the Jupiter Uranus conjunction and Pluto (Lord of Power and Wealth) is a biseptile. Even though this angle could be subtle and random, due to the fact that the circle divided by 7 gives an irrational number, there is an element of destiny's invisible hand.
The septile kind of tension between the planets at play is stressful and laser beam focused, making room for the sudden and at the same time, transcendental liberation of energy. This aspect brings about events that attract a broad spectrum of attention and present an eureka moment of discovery. Ironically, Copenhagen promises to rebuild it! It couldn't be otherwise with Pluto. Something has to die in order to be reborn. What they probably don't know yet is that as they will rebuild it, a brand new economic system will also be built.

Additionally, Uranus is the modern ruler of Pluto in Aquarius, which means that the destruction in view of reconstruction that Pluto is doing in society, is exponentially blown up by the Jupiter influence. Under this energy, the common people will suffer deprivation of resources, scarcity of goods, and the consequences of dismantling the financial economic organization. The banking system will collapse to make room for a different management of resources, assets and property. Let's not overlook the traditional ruler of Aquarius, Saturn in Pisces conjunct Mars and Neptune. This trio represents the merciless extermination of life that goes beyond all boundaries. Pisces uses less obvious means, like secret attacks, intentional introduction of disease, subversive wars, hacking, genocides in the name of religion, nuclear explosions in the sea with much destruction of all life forms. Since Pluto ingressed Aquarius, mass death have been on the rise around the world. Some kill others whom they perceive as a threat to their survival, others do it simply because of mental disturbance.
Jupiter also is the traditional ruler of Pisces, which increments the incidence of losses indicated by the stellium in that last sign of the zodiac.
As it can be noticed, the last two Signs of the astro wheel and the first two are intimately linked among themselves by their rulerships. The upcoming collapse is obvious. The leading planet is Pluto, which indicates that everything we start implies a profound transformation. We don't know what will happen next, for that is a subject for 2026. Eventually, the Moon, Sun, Venus, Mercury and Mars will reach the 21º♉️ in that succession over the next months reactivating the Jupiter Uranus energy. For now, we are walking on water with faith and hope that all will be for our good, but many will drown due to lack of faith or for being ill equipped to walk on such unstable and insecure surface.

The World We've Lived in, since 1988
The Saturn Uranus have been legendary enemies because Uranus challenges the traditions, the rules and the rigidity of Saturn structures. Uranus offers new ways of doing things. Their conjunction is an opportunity to combine both types of energies. It happens every 44 to 46 years and, for the collective, it gives the modus operandi of the corporative business and how corporations implement industrial science to produce goods. They give a functional structure to the industrial innovation in all aspects of the economy.
Since 1988 when Saturn and Uranus joined in Sagittarius, the innovative business structures started to aim far and wide around the world. The ambition has been to expand the economy by reaching, establishing and developing foreign markets. Countries have gone thousands of miles away to find resources to feed their industries and their population. Industries have moved to foreign shores and settled in far away lands looking to lower costs of production. The economy has become global, with global markets, and a global currency. It's not surprising that the One World Power was a nation with Sagittarius rising, that has a history of unstoppable expansion. However, in order to sustain this system there has been a need for global transportation, which, in turn, needs a global exchange of energy resources.
A great disregard for natural physical laws has created dangerous unforeseen consequences, because business has not planned its growth considering the factor of a finite Earth. Moreover, this unbridled progress has destabilized the perfect harmony in the Earth's ecology, disrupting Nature's equilibrium. The globalization has been based on an illogical, whimsical belief (Uranus in Sagittarius) that economic growth should be exponential and constant, ignoring that resources are limited. The natural physical laws need to be obeyed to maintain equilibrium, and that everything produced is later discarded and needs to find a way to go back to Earth without destroying it. Our behavior has been like eating and pooping at the same dining table.
Saturn and Uranus Sagittarian relationship is now at the closing stage. During the last couple of years, the cycle was at the waning square (270º). This Crisis in Consciousness point means that the development of their work together has already peaked (180º or Full Moon position) by reaching the maximum potential of the so called 'globalization'. Now it's harvest time. The period when the results are obvious and speak loud about the excesses to which the Jupiter ruled Sagittarius have taken all the issues related to ambitious corporative business (Saturn) and industrial scientific innovation (Uranus).
Humanity is now integrating all positive and negative consequences. For example, for the developed countries, it has been a cycle by which life has become easier for certain sectors of society which have increase their financial solvency, whereas for the underdeveloped countries and lower strata of society, it has meant more poverty, drain and exhaustion of resources, and a great decrease in the quality of life. Overall, the rich have become richer and the poor, poorer.
For the Earth, not only does it mean the exploitation and exhaustion of raw materials, but the irreversible destruction of ecological systems to the point of causing the extinction of thousands of vegetable and animal species, and the pollution of the environment. These are only just a couple of examples of the devastating consequences of expanding (Sagittarius), exploring, and reaching out too far. This ruthless drive is explained by the Jupiter placement in Aries in the chart of the 1988 conjunction. As a Jupiter ruled sign, Sagittarius under this Martian conquering influence has a tendency to aggressive excesses, with disregard for consequences.
For Saturn and Uranus cycle of Sagittarius, the horizon was always elusive, and their gallop never fast enough. Consumers have grown accustomed to not being able to live without the latest trendy gadgets, and have forgotten the survival skills necessary when resources are scarce. It's interesting to remember that their conjunction happened at the anaretic degree 29º♐️52' in the Sun decan square to the Nodes of the Moon. The eagerness to explore science and technology without constraint, to mass produce its achievements, and to expand markets to a global scale has perfectly reflected the collective trend and destiny during this period, indicated by a boundless North Node in Pisces, in Scorpio decan.
At the closing of the cycle, the entire Human Kind is now realizing that such excessive expansion has brought upon us challenges never seen before. Climate disturbance, extinction of innumerables species, massive pollution, out of control illnesses, to name just a few. The globalization excesses have put some nations at the expense of other nations that have demonstrated not to be as friendly as expected. In fact, international relations have become so enmeshed with complicated and less than honest exchanges that certain countries are now victims of the same network in which they have participated to obtain economic benefits. For example, during the covid19 pandemic, certain countries didn't have essential medical equipment and medicines such as masks, and basic analgesics, just due to the fact that they had been manufactured in a very far away place. Man power and transportation were not available.
It was exactly during these years that Saturn formed the 270º square to Uranus, or the closing square in the cycle. This square was repeated four times over a two year period, when people had the opportunity to realize that things-as-usual were not working properly any more. The upcoming sextile in 2025 and 2026 will help us make a transition to a new kind of world order.
The World That is Coming
As Saturn approaches a new conjunction with Uranus, we are moving to a new kind of world. Ruled by Mercury, Gemini is a dual Sign, that's why is the first social Sign, where one start relating and making deals with others and the environment. This signals a collective mind that expresses its authority. Youth will probably play an important authority role during this period, by demonstrating that they know how to do things.
Gemini is the Sign where we learn skills, so it rules trades, or manual work business, especially local ones. Global trade and world economy will be done with, in favor of the local economy. People will create resources, goods, products locally and gather together with neighbors to create communityvegetable gardens or local cooperatives, in order to satisfy the needs of the small town or neighborhood. Local industries will be created.
Due to a greater development of communication and transportation technologies, the new jobs in those areas will call for learning new technical skills for manual work. Entry level positions and apprenticeships will be created, for robotics for example. Some people will do more than one job, using different abilities in order to make ends meet. Most new jobs will require teamwork, and small business will be created by small groups of people pooling their resources together. The new trend for small businesses will be thecooperativesystem where each member participate in the investment and in the profit.
Instead of wanting to explore far and wide, people will seek the exploration of the immediate reality. Unfortunately, airplane and airline companies going to far away places will decrease their activity notably, and many of them will disappear. Very few people will go on Cruise Ship vacations to foreign countries, which will also hurt that line of business. Instead of going to conquer the world, people will be more interested in caring for the immediate environment. As people work closer to their place of living, they will want to keep their own neighborhoods clean, neat and tidy. You will build closer relationships with your neighbors and town people.
Say goodbye to imported goods and produce, export will go down as well. International commerce will lose its attraction because the cost of transportation will be so high that it will be impossible to continue. On the other hand everything produced locally will have better prices. This will promote the needed employment for all, especially for young people.
People will stop focusing on the big world picture, instead they will be 'nearsighted'. International travel, adventures and tourism have already gone down, and will stay that way during this Saturn Uranus period. Say goodbye to imported vehicles, and individual cars. Say hello to collective public transportation. Instead of you driving your own bubble to work, you will be using the bus, a small motorcycle, your bike, and even walk to work. Electrical flying vehicles will see their day.
With Neptune in Pisces, mass migrations will end up mixing cultures of all kind. At the time of the Saturn Uranus conjunction, Neptune in Aries is dissolving the idea of ethnic identity.You will look for new experiences closer to home, mainly learning new skills, like foreign languages in order to communicate with peoples of other cultures.
Uranus innovate Saturn structures at all levels. Governmental civil works will focus on repairing and building bridges (Gemini) and other city infrastructure will be upgraded.
In the area of education, a restructuring can be expected to introduce modern methods and contents. Because trades will become more important, people will be more interested in learning to make things with their hands than learning philosophy or doing higher studies. Young workers will work with data and information gathering. Some will recover their interest in knitting, pottery, gardening, sewing, embroidery, making clothes at home, home cooking, wood work, writing, speaking, teaching, broadcasting, etc.
Higher knowledge will fall into disfavor because of the need for practical knowledge and manual skills, arts, crafts and abilities that allow people to work with the new technology inventions. People will not be so much interested in attending Universities, institutions of higher education and organized religions, unless they offer trade training, like robotics, cybernetics, AC technician, IT specialist, electrician, etc. Primary education should incorporate more computerized activities and learning methods. Already from Elementary School, children will start learning how to work with and develop technological devices, like robots.
Ideologies, philosophies will have to become popularized by coming down to the common folk, in an accessible vocabulary that everybody can understand, especially if the ideas are useful and practical. Theoretical thinking will be useful only for first hand experimental research. Surviving religious ideas and morals will be those applicable to the day to day civil interactions.
Independence and the expansion of your vision towards the world will be replaced by interconnection and interdependence. People will learn the art of harmonious teamwork, by depending on each other to achieve their practical projects. This way, a higher level of civilization will be developed, because people learn to share our time and abilities for the benefit of the group.
Even though information has been available to all, and anybody can share their ideas through the Internet and reach a large audience, only useful practical information will be appreciated. Original thought will be favored. The most favored professions will be those of mentors, craftsman teachers, communicators of all kinds, broadcasters, journalists, merchants, electronic technicians, online elementary educators, translators, interpreters, commerce agents, stand up comedians, traders, apprentices, dealers, technicians.
There will be a great transition towards increase and very active local social life. People will revive their social activity, but not by wandering around the world, rather making contacts and meeting friends nearby or through the Internet. At the same time new internet structures will improve or replace the old social media, emails, messaging, and phone calls. People will want to learn, know, read, write, and keep in touch in different ways. The local information sources will be more sought of and valued than the ones coming from the media corporations. It can already be seen that people do not rely or trust on mass media news, because already they understand how reality is manipulated and twisted by them to serve those who are in power.

A historical search shows that Saturn Uranus has conjunct 7 times in Gemini since 750 BCE, but never with Pluto in Aquarius. The previous times Pluto was in Virgo, Libra, Aries, Pisces and Cancer, in that order. The lapse between their Gemini cycles has been 500, 100, 200, 500, 100, 500, and now 600 years in between, fairly irregularly.
