Actions or activities developed during their two year cycle started in Capricorn have lasting effects or lingering consequences. Their cycle is marked with government and institutional power struggles resulting often in change of regimes or dynasties. Most events are associated with military activities or missions that often involve or are related to an authority figure of some kind. In this article there is an exploration of historical events associated with previous Mars Sun in Capricorn cycles. The author only chose events related to the Mars, Sun and Capricorn archetypes.

"The British Expedition to Abyssinia was a rescue mission and punitive expedition carried out in 1868 [January 2] by the armed forces of the British Empire against the Ethiopian Empire (also known at the time as Abyssinia). Emperor Tewodros II of Ethiopia, then often referred to by the anglicized name Theodore, imprisoned several missionaries and two representatives of the British government in an attempt to force the British government to comply with his requests for military assistance. The punitive expedition launched by the British in response required the transportation of a sizeable military force hundreds of kilometres across mountainous terrain lacking any road system. That expedition ended when the Emperor Tewodros II commited suicide.
There were power struggles in Japan against the established power of the Shogunate Tokugawa. The year ended with the Emperor Meiji taking power, thus changing dynasties. This created a centralized government in the country.
In the Paraguayan War, Brazilian Army commander Luis Alves de Lima e Silva, Duke of Caxias, entered Asunción, Paraguay's capital. Some days later he declared the war was over. Nevertheless, Francisco Solano López, Paraguay's president, prepared guerrillas to fight in the countryside.
In the United States Memorial Day was observed for the first time. In addition, the 14th Amendment was ratified ensuring the civil rights and liberties in the United States. It defines citizenship, addresses equal protection under the law, and due process. It prevents states from abridging the privileges or immunities of citizens, and ensures no state can deprive any person of life, liberty, or property without due process, or deny them equal protection of the laws.
Keep in mind that at that time, only white men were considered full citizens, and this Amendment granted rights to Black people. In fact, the 14th Amendment led to increased tensions between white and black men.
There were wars against Native peoples in America, as well as the Opelousas massacre, one of the bloodiest massacres against Black people of the Reconstruction era in the United States.

Definitely, the Mars Sun opposition to Pluto reflects the power struggles that started the WWI. The issues at stake during this war were the ambition for territorial expansion (Capricorn) in order to control resources, increase political powers (Mars Sun in Capricorn) struggling for the survival of empires of the moment (Sun), resulting in new alliances and the development of military might (Mars in Capricorn).
