Chiron in the Relationships Axis - September 2019

Mercury ♎️ opposite Chiron ♈︎

There might be painful news in our relationships. Any kind of communication is hard to accept, digest and assimilate. We feel highly sensitive to the messages we receive from another, and others in general. A friend, partner, or sibling may give us bad news, or have a hurtful truth about who they are and what they think. Conversely, they can express that they hurt because of the way we behave towards them.  We may have difficulty saying what hurts inside, or about the relationship. Repressed deprecating thinking may slip out of our mouth hurting another person's feelings. One may feel rejected by the partner because of our lifestyle, appearance, the way we present ourselves, or because who we are. Another person acts as a mirror reflecting to us our own vulnerabilities, feelings of not being 'good enough', or confronting the limiting beliefs we have about our identity. 

Personally, we may read or receive a message expressing exactly the pain of our existence. We feel that our communication is insufficient, illogical, inadequate, hurtful, fragmented, inappropriate, faulty, lacking cohesiveness. Something in the environment makes us realize the need to heal our flawed thought patterns, or teaches us to accept ourselves just as we are.  We may come to understand that we are in a learning journey to know ourselves, and today we gather one more piece of the puzzle we are.  

One can read or be told a healing story. Tricksters, shamans, and storytellers have the talent to take us on a healing journey. I think of the memorable movie Life is Beautiful, where a loving father risks his own life making up a story that may save his son's life. 

Because Chiron bridges our physical reality with the spiritual reality, planetary oppositions to Chiron tend to elevate the nature of their archetype to the higher octave. With Mercury, the mind will take the liberating, maverick and innovative signature of Uranus. We may feel the urge to become aware of our true individuality. Sudden insights come in flashes of thought, intuitively awakening the consciousness, and breaking openings into the unconscious. Alternative, original, even versatile healing modalities can help us break thinking patterns. Uranus preferred healing modality is vibration, and sound waves. That's why the most appropriate healing method to use for this aspect is meditation, especially Vipassana, Mantra, Breathwalk, and Mindful meditation techniques. 

September 17 

Venus ♎️ opposite Chiron ♈︎

 Chiron's archetype has the energy to perfect love. When opposing, Venus and Chiron have the power to heal each other by hurting each other. 

In relationships, Venus opposing Chiron, brings a karmic partner, a soul mate, a person capable of softly touching the deep wound of our existence. We are magnetically drawn to each other with a strong pull that seems unavoidable.  Often times the unconscious attraction is based on a past life relationship experience, or similar childhood wounding. Even if it's hurtful, we feel an inexplicable need to be together. We may unintentionally hurt each other in the process.  However this happens because, at the present time, the other person is the medicine one needs to heal the love wound. We are helping each other heal.

In the mirror of Venus, Chiron has his sense of inadequacy awaken. He feels rejected, unwanted, not good enough. In front of her beauty, his nakedness feels ugly. In Aries, Chiron's defects or wound may be on his face, head, any part of his physical body, or related to his ability to initiate action, or perform sexually. He feels vulnerable and believes that he can never possibly measure up to be with her.  He strives for his wholeness. This process asks us to transcend the realm of form and material reality to understand the we are spiritual beings making this physical experiment. 

Through us, the Infinite Creative Consciousness realizes itself. As Carl Sagan said, "We are the way for the Cosmos to know itself" 

Venus sees his wound open and forces Chiron to see perfection in his imperfection, completeness in his incompleteness, competence in his incompetence. Having gone through the purifying fire of the Sun, Venus doesn't focus so much on her physical desires. She understands love at a higher level. Here is when her higher octave comes into play, and we raise the love to the vibration of Neptune. She pays more attention and appreciates Chiron's qualities, skills, abilities, traits of character more than his physical appearance. Our love becomes considerate, compassionate, unconditional.  

If we have this opposition in a Synastry, or between two people, this is the most sublime love story we can ever experience. Venus offers us the promise of spiritual completion, first with a seemingly cruel separation, only to later bathe us with the purest love balsam there is: acceptance of our imperfection, integration of the wound, and finally, deliverance from its suffering. Venus opposite Chiron is the burning that ends up cauterizing the wound, so we learn to love ourselves.

At first I called this attitude a healthy egoism. 

Today I know it is Love of Oneself.

I quit trying to always be right,

Today I discovered that is Modesty.

As I began to love myself 

I refused to go on living in the past 

and worrying about the future. 

Now, I only live for the moment, 

where everything is happening. 

Today I live each day, 

day by day, 

and I call it Fulfillment.

As I began to love myself 

I recognized 

that my mind can disturb me 

and it can make me sick. 

But as I connected it to my heart, 

my mind became a valuable ally. 

Today I call this connection Wisdom of the Heart.

We no longer need to fear arguments, 

confrontations or any kind of problems 

with ourselves or others. 

Even stars collide, 

and out of their crashing, new worlds are born. 

Today I know: This is Life!

Sun ♎️ opposite Chiron ♈︎

According to the myth, Apollo adopted the rejected, abandoned, orphaned Chiron, and took him under his 'wing' of protection. It was thanks to the Sun God, then, that Chiron first realized that he could gather all the pieces of his wounded life, put them together and make something significant with it. It was thanks to the guidance of the Sun God, that he was able to re-create himself, gain optimism and find joy in life. 

When Chiron was first in front of the Sun God, Apollo, it was probably the moment when he saw so clearly his flaws, and his wound became so obvious. However, it was the benevolence of the adopted father, Apollo, that awoke in him the desire and the energy to put those weaknesses, insecurities and pains to good use. 

The protection, teachings, and leadership of the Sun's Higher Power instilled in Chiron's soul new energy to overcome the confrontation with his dismal reality. He was taught specific skills that helped him gain strength, wisdom, dexterity, and the necessary knowledge to understand himself, find meaning and purpose in his wounds.  He discovered and studied different ways to develop his creative healing force. 

Apollo enlightened Chiron, he taught him all he knew about diseases, healing, music, poetry, songs, dance, archery, and much more! Thanks to the Sun God, Chiron became an  authority in the field of Healing.  As such, he was a Shaman, Alchemist, Astrologer, Healer, Wiseman, Moral Guide and Leader. Apollo trusted his disciple with higher responsibilities when he assigned him the education of Asclepius, who later became the God of Medicine, Healing, Rejuvenation and the Doctors. 

Personally, the Sun may bring another person to our life who can show us how to use our flaws, and weakness to our advantage. That person may be a mentor to help us see our imperfect life not only under a more positive light, but also as the very instrument of our leadership. That person may do it even inadvertently, but we will immediately know and receive the message that will transform our life completely, and finally heal our wound.

New Moon in Virgo - August 30, 2019

New Moon in Virgo at 6º 47' @ 22:35 UTC

Here comes that time of the year when the Summer/Winter is not yet over, but the first signs of Fall/ Spring timidly start to appear. It's the transitional Virgo Season, when Nature starts its mutation. 

And we do too.

This New Moon in Virgo marks the start of that mutation. The inspirational and creative Fire of Leo now comes to Earth to take form. We are implementing the adaptation to our new reality that was awakened by the enlightening insights of Mercury square Uranus (August 16) and Venus trine Uranus (August 26). They opened up new ways of thinking, because they brought surprising news. 

Our mind (Mercury), understanding, thinking, learning and communicating tapped into unconventional values (Venus, ruler of Uranus in Taurus) brought to our awareness. During Virgo season, it is time to make sense of them, assimilate those innovative ideas that we previously wouldn't even have considered. Those new ideas opened up a clarity that helps us discard obsolete mental patterns in exchange for more futuristic, humanitarian, and liberating ones. 

We start to see our physical reality in a totally original way. Venus (ruler of Uranus in Taurus) in Virgo brings to the material plane a new value criteria that we will use to separate what is useful, practical and viable in our present time life from what needs to be discarded. Mars, also close to the New Moon, accompanies the process by compelling us to take the necessary actions.

The Stellium (cluster of planets) in Virgo connects with Uranus in Taurus and Saturn with South Node in Capricorn. Even though the Grand Trine is not exact, this prominence of Earth energy in harmonious combination, favors practical endeavors, accomplishing material goals, realizing plans and tackling projects. This kind of energy is excellent to implement the new business plans designed during the Leo season. Uranus gives those efforts the innovative push, Mars the energy to work, and Saturn the structure and steadiness to endure. 

The New Moon impels us to step up onto a new stage for performance. We have new beginnings related to the issues of the Zodiac house occupied by 6º Virgo where it occurs. Plus, the houses ruled by the Moon ♋️, the Sun ♌︎, Mars ♈︎, Venus ♉️& ♎️, and Mercury ♊️& ♍️ are activated as well. We will see our Birth Chart lit up like a Christmas tree at the end of the Summer/Winter! 

The New Moon also quincunx Chiron, raising our consciousness of the emotional frustration we feel about the vulnerability of our very existence. One may feel an irritation, nagging or discomfort regarding the traits of our personality or self expression that interfere with our personal development and progress. We may have more clarity on the changes operated during the Sun trine Chiron (July), and now face unresolved self doubts in the process of recognizing those traits that need to be integrated. It is like wearing new shoes for the first time, you need to break them in before they can feel comfortable.

The following days, September 1st and 2d, Venus will connect in a Mutable T-Square with Jupiter in Sagittarius and Neptune in Pisces, making our dearest dreams come true, expanding our spirit and making our most beautiful love story possible! In order to support this process we need to focus on the Gemini Zodiac house to balance the three legged configuration. We should seek the information we need, communicate what we want, talk to the people we care about, and bridge any gaps that might still interfere between us and realizing our dream. 

At the mundane level, this T-Square may be favorable for the truth (Jupiter) to be revealed about women, love, sexual issues (Venus), for the public (Neptune) to see. It may also be a time of public revelations regarding resources, market values, and the condition of the world economy. 

Because of the dissolution symbolism of Neptune over values (Venus), exaggerated by the symbolism of Jupiter, there may be news about the important realization or announcement of market devaluation, recession and even depression around the world. Before it is too late, make sure you have enough food, medicine, water and all essentials' storage to survive at least a month or two. Money may not be able to buy those tomorrow. Some countries are already living this reality.

These are probably the news we all foresaw mid August. Great awareness should be developed about what is happening during this transition into Fall/Spring. In fact, awareness is the best asset one can possess these days. As Nature slows down to retreat,  we should also slow down the pace, save our resources, observe and stop to ponder.  As Nature speeds up to rebirth in the Southern Hemisphere, they should also speed up the pace, manage the resources, observe the growth and stop to ponder.

Full Moon in Aquarius - August 15, 2019

Full Moon in Aquarius 22º 24'

As a Full Moon is an opposition between the two luminaries, it signals a confrontation between those two energy symbols. The Sun as the generator of Light and creator of Life fully illuminates the Moon, a body that even though is dark, is receptive and reflective. All oppositions, like reflections on a mirror, imply the relationship between the confronting energies, the full awareness of them, and the need to integrate them together.

The Sun in Leo has double strength in this chart, just for being the Center of the Solar System, but also for being on his own Sign, or home. He's been blending his energy with Venus traveling together since Sunday August 11 at 18º until August 15 at 22º, even though the exact conjunction was August 14, at 1:07 am CDT. 

Their combined energies signal an increase in the empowerment of the feminine, of women, of the creative power, of resources, values -moral and financial. Venus in the heart of Apollo, learns from his generosity, and learns a deeper meaning of love, a love that includes all and everybody. She learns a higher level of values, and of responsibility with desires. This is called Superior Conjunction because from Earth, Venus is on the other side of the Sun. Symbolically, this starts a new cycle of Venus as more concerned about mature and lasting love and desires. Becoming an Evening Star, Venus will be less impulsive, less reckless and more thoughtful, gentle and considerate. 

On the other side of the polarity, the Moon is reflecting that light in a mental, logical, intellectual and objective way. Our emotions are almost doubting so much loving and creative energy. The Moon in Aquarius, a fixed Sign, ruled by Uranus in Taurus, another fixed sign, can make us dig our heels in our ideas, and not give in to the needs of the heart. Physically we may feel shaky with anxiety and have difficulty sleeping. Mentally, we may receive intuitive liberating insights, futuristic ideas of freedom and innovation. 

However, the negative manifestation of this Full Moon can make authorities (Sun in Leo the sign of royalty) more selfish, self-centered and self-serving, especially in opposition to the demands of the common people (Moon in Aquarius). With this Full Moon, it's not surprising to see people's rebellions and uprisings all over the world, when we consider that the energies at work are in Fixed, stubborn Signs.

Not only does Uranus Rx in Taurus have a stronger stubborn electrical attitude, but, even though he doesn't make an exact square by angles, it challenges both the Leo stellium and the Moon at the same time, because Venus rules Taurus, and Uranus rules Aquarius. 

Uranus in Taurus is feeding people's minds with re-valorization of the natural resources. Survival of the common people is threatened, and the 'royal' (Leo) elite holding the power seems to only be working to protect their own survival, and their own 'values' at the expense of everything and everyone else, including the planet. 

This Full Moon is charged with the antagonist clash between the authoritarian powers and the common people (Moon). Let's not forget that Venus and the Sun are inconjunct Pluto in Capricorn, which signals that the rebellion is against those authorities' coercive schemes, against corrupted political institutions and powers trying to subdue, even subjugate them.

I refer you back to my previous post on the upcoming Saturn Pluto Conjunction.  Last time, in 1518, when that conjunction took place in Capricorn, Uranus was also in Taurus, at 4º in an exact trine.  Then, Europeans, invading the today called American Continent, waged war against the Natives on the premise that they where not Christian (which at the time meant not being human), thus ensuring their own survival outside the overcrowded European continent where there was an economic crisis. 

Mercury in an almost exact square to Uranus, in fixed signs, and trine to Chiron, adds his dose of intellectual debate. This square makes for intransigent ideas, stubborn discussions, clashes of ideologies, internet debates, heated words, conspiracy speculations. No one yields, no one gives in. Each side has its reasons, evidence, pieces of information. The internet can be figuratively on fire. In fact, technology wise, we may experience some hiccups as well.

Mercury trine Chiron. Something that happened or was stirred up during the Solar Eclipse was crucial and instrumental in the message Mercury brings to the Sun's home of Leo and to Chiron today. Visit my post about the activation of Chiron this month, to find out what it is.

This is the collective perspective to interpret this chart, matching the evidence in the news, using observation and correlation of symbols. 

I know some may see this Full Moon as a very positive energy to give us a new creative and lucky boost, but remember that energies are neutral, and people can use them with free will, to do good or bad actions.  Even Venus and Jupiter, the supposedly 'benefic', can be bad if we overdo them.  In your personal life, depending on how the transiting cosmic bodies make contact with your Natal Chart, the level of evolution you have, and the decisions you make, the results can be dramatically different. Thus the need to have a personal reading if you like to know how the Full Moon will affect your life.

New Moon in Leo 8º - July 31- August 1st, 2019

New Moon in Leo with a Love shake! 

July 31- August 1

There is a new start in the realm of creativity with the sacred fire of the Leo season. Love, optimism, generosity, joy, and play are now revived. With Venus nearby in square to Uranus, expect to attract and be drawn to the most unusual, unexpected, and shocking things, situations, likes, people and places. You want to break free from the old boring and known. Some uncertainty and anxiety is expected as we don’t know what is coming or how far this can go. Whatever you get these days, in a form of relationships, financial decisions or purchases, probably won’t last long unless there was some previous background work, planning, or aim. It’s just the time to enjoy the moment. On the other hand, Uranus' shake can help trigger a long waited decision after so much restriction and rumination (Saturn, Pluto and South Node in Capricorn, Mercury and four more retrograde planets).

Grand Fire Trine

You should pay attention to the loose grand fire trine of the New Moon with Jupiter and Chiron. From Sagittarius, Jupiter is promising too much with a pompous optimism; from Aries, Chiron doesn’t feel too confident. In fact, this New Moon can boost our assertiveness, give us some degree of confidence and forgiveness of our shortcomings and faults. Just tell Chiron not to be a party pooper. Read more about what Chiron is doing in August. Adding Neptune square Jupiter to the concoction, one may have the tendency to drift away to dreamy land on the fiery flying carpet of indulgence.

Mercury Turns Direct

On the reasonable side, Mercury is turning direct today, but in Cancer, the mind is still emotionally driven and kind of slow before the Messenger of the Gods gains some speed forward. The mind shows us images and metaphors, we talk in symbols and synthesize ideas into images. Mercury in Cancer also allows us to listen to and use our intuition. Hummh… going back to the inspiration and intuition of Neptune? Well, after all, if we consider Neptune trine to the North Node of the Moon, that’s what we are supposed to do! I agree, it’s confusing! So keep these keywords : confusion and indulgence.

August 2019 Chiron Activation

That white speckle around 10 o'clock is not dust on your screen, it's Saturn, the blue circle in the middle is Jupiter's orbit around the Sun. The crazy red 'circle'? It's Chiron's orb. Do you understand now why it's called 'wounded'?

August 1 - Venus in Leo trine Chiron in Aires 

"True love cannot be made without Chiron" Jeremy Neal

Venus comes along to the Sun stage in Leo as part of the cast, remember from July's episode of Chiron Story? Once more, she stirs Chiron's sensitivity to his ugliness and disharmony, but this time his painful love has matured. Chiron is now ready to take the challenge of unconditional love. His enlightenment allows him to "see beauty where [he hadn't] noticed it, and find value in what [he previously] dismissed as ugly or worthless" (Melanie Reinhart, The Healing Journey, pg 207).

Chiron's enlightenment is due to the influence of Venus square Uranus, the Lord of the Heavens, the awakener, and the maverick. This may have us like things we didn't like before, especially things, places, people foreign to us, different, foreign cultures, foreigners, out of the norm, and yes, imperfect! We  may attract or feel attracted to the weirdness of Chiron. Remember that Uranus is also making a long-lasting semi sextile with Chiron, about which I wrote in my July story.

Venus trine Chiron is part of the New Moon in Leo energy (July 31-August 1). Now, that Venus is so close to the Sun, she is 'shy', she is ready to make the necessary compromise, and give Chiron the kiss. Belle kisses the Beast. However, like with Shrek, the Beast may not transform into the beautiful blue-eyed charming Prince. That's not the point. What is important is to love ourselves just as we are. Are we ready to love the ugliness as well as the beauty? Can we live with imperfection and [maybe] dysmorphia? Can we forgive our shortcomings and try once more? Yes, we can, because Venus is inspired, generous, forgiving, and humble.

Venus in Leo trine Chiron in Aires is the most sacred self healing. A generous pouring of love helps Chiron to open up and show his wound of repressed feelings. We regain confidence in being human, a spiritual being living this wonderful physical experiment. Yes, we are vulnerable, yes we are hurt, yes we are imperfect, and THAT's our medicine. If we are to succeed in a love relationship, we start by learning self-love.

August 11 - The Moon square Chiron

The Moon in Capricorn forms the Third Quarter Square with Chiron. We find ourselves in introspection, reassessing the emotional process of our healing. We may feel grateful for the results. We have gained some revealing insights about how the Chiron wound works in our life. So, we are ready to let go of a piece of the pain and suffering. We assimilate the healing like fresh water in a hot day.

The Moon is the one that is constantly touching our wound, so you might want to read my blog post on the specific influence of the Moon Phases on Chiron.

August 16 - Mercury trine Chiron

Mercury in Leo has come to serve Apollo, he is the negotiator messenger or mediator in conflicts. If you remember,   last month Mercury stopped less than a degree short of trining Chiron when he turn 'retrograde'. There was a piece of information he was missing and went back to the degree of the July 16 Lunar Eclipse to find it. Picture this in your mind's eye: Mercury, the messenger of the Gods, goes back where Apollo was at 24º ♋️ to find something left behind. Something that happened or was stirred up during that eclipse was crucial and instrumental in the message Mercury brings to the Sun's home of Leo and to Chiron today.

Maybe, today we realize how this identity wound of Chiron in Aries, is related to our early childhood (Cancer) when we lived with our parents. We may remember, "When I was a child... I was once an unhappy child... I long for my home as I wanted it to be... I was hurt in my family then... that was the first time I felt  this wound." Something happened then. But we are ready to deal with it now, aren't we?

Again, remember that Mercury is also square Uranus. Uranus's electricity can jolt the mind, completely changing the thinking connections and patterns, and helping us see the reality from a entirely new perspective. Uranus awakens the mind! Especially in a hard cosmic aspect with Mercury, it challenges outmoded concepts, and questions our naming process. 

If you remember, from my Chiron activation in June blogpost, today's story may be related to what was going on June 7. It even can refer to Chiron story in May when Mercury activated him. It is important to keep a journal, so we can observe our evolution, take conscious actions, and make conscious decisions. Listening to Mercury's message makes us aware. We question things and find answers.

When I heard the song "You Say" , it blew my mind how well it represents Mercury trine Chiron. It says: "I keep fighting voices in my mind that say I'm not enough. Every single lie that says I'll never measure up. Remind me once again just who I am, because I need to know." I hope you enjoy it.

So, today is the day to intellectually understand the lies we've been telling ourselves because of what we were once 'fed' at home early in life. Mercury in Leo, even though it's still combust because of the proximity of the Sun, still makes our mind confident, positive. This song or some other communication may be the inspirational message that can flip our wounded thinking forever. Listen!

August 25 -  Mars and Venus conjunct 5º Virgo, quincunx Chiron in Aries

Now we are learning how to adjust our performance, our actions with the new 'warrior' gear we just got with the Leo lessons. It may feel awkward to move with the new Chironic skills. Sometimes we may feel too impulsive, trying to initiate a different kind of relationships for example, other moments we may feel that we can't 'wear' this new concept of ourself so easily, we spend our energy analyzing or we just decide is better to retreat. Mars and Venus together increase our sensual attraction, we long for a tender sexual mate, but Chiron is nagging on the other side, still insecure, still not trusting in himself. The wound of love may bring up past life or childhood traumas in relationships that now need to be looked at in order to be resolved. But let's keep trying, in spite of the mistakes. Practice, practice, practice, makes it perfect.

August 29 - The Sun in Virgo quincunx Chiron

Now we need to adjust the new shine we have from the Sun energy. Since it is so new, we may try to show off too much, or we may fall back again to the shy side of  Chiron, avoiding taking the personal authority and confidence necessary to show who we really are. There might be moments when we ask, "is it true that I am OK with these faults, imperfections, shortcomings?,  will you accept me anyway?". Yes, you are OK! The more beautiful because you are crooked, hurt, full of scars, you are UNIQUE! So use the Sun's confidence and warmth to your advantage.

The Astronomy of Chiron

On a side note, remember that Chiron is now transiting the coldest side of his orbit around the Sun, meaning that is the farthest from him.  Chiron came to perihelion (closest point to the Sun) in 1996 and will reach aphelion mid 2021.  This deepens the meaning of Chiron transiting the Sign of Aries. The identity issues can be more cruelly perceived, may be more obscure also and harder to pinpoint for us. The more awareness you develop, the better. It is a good time to learn and practice some alternative healing methods based on using the wound. Note: Always consider transits in the context of your whole chart. I made the effort to do my analysis as thorough as possible, but it is not possible to give all the possibilities, much less the personal influence. Any transit is felt more intensely when it aspects one of your Natal or Progressed planets or points. In order to have a more accurate personal report you need a personal reading.
