Mercury Square Pluto - April 10, 2022

Mercury, Messenger of the Gods,
 negotiating with Pluto the liberation of Persephone 

     The time of danger continues as April progresses. This time, Mercury square Pluto, has the ability to make you completely discard previous ideas, transform your reasoning, and regenerate your opinion. 

    At another level, you may become suspicious, mistrust others, the news, messages and other communications. It's not a good idea to make agreements of any sort under this transit, especially if they relate to finances, loans, debt, insurance, taxes, inheritance. 

    If your chart receives a hard aspect from these two planets, then there could be environmental pollution around you, in your neighborhood, from your neighbor, or in your sibling's home. 

    Travelling may result in serious problems, and danger. Also, your mind may be burdened with some shadowy ideas that may result in poor and unhealthy decisions if you follow them into action. But generally speaking, you are just too much focused on global problems generated by governments (Pluto is in Capricorn after all) and affecting the whole Humanity as collective. Government representatives of any country could be making secret deals behind the scenes, complots against individuals or countries and such.     

    Since I touch on this subject, it's important to consider that the USA is experiencing the Pluto Return at this time and the Mercury transit forms a T-Square with the natal Mercury and Part of Fortune. Because transiting Mercury is at the cusp of the 5th house, those changing their convictions are the Ambassadors and other Diplomats regarding international affairs. Be attentive to their communications, conversations and announcements. 

    Saturn approaches the Moon of the USA foreshadowing limitations, harsh times ahead, repression, depression affecting its people. However, right at 25º, shy only of 2 degrees from the Moon, Saturn will station retrograde on June 4, and will not conjoin the Moon until next year. This is just heads up for you. Prepare and be ready for the coldness and dryness of this severe planet on the people (US Moon) next year. Research and remember what happened 29.5 years ago, it was around 1994. 

At the same time Mercury squares Pluto, he opposes Haumea, the Goddess of Creation and Nature's regeneration. There is here an indication that whatever transformative message is given, it certainly harms, damages, and desecrates Mother Earth and hinders its ability to recover from destruction.

    There may also be important revelations in the media about things that have been hidden, denied, and are now recognized to be toxic, corrupted, degenerated, on the verge of extinction. These could be very bad news for people in general. It's important to be cautious, since Mercury also rules the lungs and the digestion.

Daily Transits - October 2, 2021

Building Blocks to the Libra New Moon 

The Anvil

    Mercury stationary square Pluto stationary and trine Jupiter stationary, Venus sextile Pluto and square Jupiter, and all those lines crisscross forming an anvil configuration. In fact this configuration started forming on September 28 as I mentioned in previous posts, and will last until around October 3d. 

    If you are very young, you probably don't know what an anvil is. When I was a small child, growing up in a farm, I saw my elders working their tools on the anvil. They would pound the hot iron to make horseshoes and such. The anvil has a basic geometry of two triangles connected by the vertex. It's made of solid iron that can resist super hot metals on top of it, where the blacksmith works with his tools. 

    Transfering the concept to the symbolism in astrology, you can see how strongly enduring can be the relationship between these planets. Three of them being stationary direct, make them extra powerful already, and their connection solidifies their bond. We can experience all those four energies as a solid unit in any circumstance or situation we are living through right now. 

    This  may mean that the power struggles you experience in your communications, trades, deals with your relationships now, can result in either persisting stubbornness, a permanent antagonism, or be resolved into a stedfast bond that nothing will break. In addition, the challenge will let you understanding the small details of the situation in a wider context with a broader perspective. 

    For sure, once all is said and done -probably when Mercury comes out of the retrograde shadow on November 1st-, you will come out with an entirely new attitude about this issue, which will forever change your outlook on how you relate to that person, people, or thing you were dealing with. And you will remember that 'lesson' for a long time. 

    So, be careful with the 'pounding' of your 'hot' issues. Try to work with them like the blacksmith, one step at a time, with an assertive but exact 'hammer', and a precise aim at the appropriate temperature.

Building Blocks to the Libra New Moon

 As Mercury turns retrograde, prepare to review everything that happened in the area of relationships since September 6, 2021. The Silver Winged God goes back over so you have the chance to take a look at what has not worked well, and to find the necessary details so you can make improvements, corrections, adjustments. Your mind is on reverse. 

 First important examination is done with the square to Pluto for a second time (previous was on September 22). Remember your suspicions then? Or were you trying to manipulate someone? Whatever the case, some relationship problem will again trigger you. You may experience some shady business or deal proposal or may suspect one. Be careful in your commute or short distance travel where you may be blocked or diverted due to demolitions, or some other danger or health hazard. Generally speaking, avoid walking or biking through potentially dangerous streets, alleys, or places where criminals may gather. Another way this energy may show up for you personally is food poisoning that give you a bad digestive problem. So be careful with the food you choose to eat. The square will perfect again on October 1st (Mercury rx and Pluto rx), and November 1st (both Mercury and Pluto direct). 

 Second important examination is done with the trine to Jupiter on October 3. Now your mind takes an optimistic and enthusiastic turn. Relationship situations look very positive and your communications flow well, with a moralistic twist. Both parties may feel honestly responsible for a good entente. Your thinking may have a broader perspective and understand the incidence of minute details within the greater context. 

 Mercury will be retrograde in Libra for about three weeks until he arrives at 10º on October 19. Other aspects that will be discussed later are his conjunction with Mars and the Sun, and the opposition to Chiron twice more. Use the following twenty-three days to reflect, reconsider things instead of initiating something new, especially involving someone else. If at all possible, try to postpone any arguments, discussing differences, and trying to come to an agreement until after October 19, or even better until November 2d.
