I started looking at the Mars Jupiter South Node conjunction in Leo because it falls on one of my natal planets. The conjunction will be perfect from November 12 through November 16, 2026 at exactly 25º of Leo. Around April 15, 2027 there will be an approximation with the Moon and Jupiter at 17º, South Node at 18º and Mars at 22º.
I got curious to find out what could mean for me since I don’t remember this happening like this in my life. So, I plugged the data in my software, and what I found was astonishing: Mars, Jupiter and the South Node have been together in Leo only two times since the year 1000 CE! In 1244 and 1635.
My curiosity grew even larger, no Jupiterian pun intended, when I discovered what happened back those years. Interesting enough is the fact that in the three occasions, the conjunction is perfected in the third decan of Leo, which corresponds to Aries, and the Egyptian term of Mars; now at 25º, at 26º in 1244, and at 27º in 1635. The difference in these historical dates is that the South Node was in a tight out of Sign conjunction in Virgo. This makes our 2026 triple conjunction in Leo, a unique one since the year 1000 CE.
I asked myself if those degrees still keep their memories as many do obviously, otherwise we would not be speaking astrology. As the astrological expectation cannot be deceived, of course, there were conflicts, disagreements, battles, killings and lots of bloodshed, some in the name of religions whose first commandment reads “do not kill”. It seems that the major historical events related to the demise, demoting, banning, evasion or defeat of religious people, institutions or symbolic religious places, as well as disputes of sovereignty over territories.

Restrictions on religious people or institutions
On October 9, 1635, Roger Williams was banned from the Massachusetts Bay Colony as a religious dissident, after speaking out against punishments for religious offenses, and giving away Native American land.
Later on, December 23 the Shah Jahan, Emperor of India’s Mughal Empire, issues a decree against Portuguese Jesuits, ordering that the Agra Church be demolished and barring them from attempting to convert Hindus and Muslims to the Christian faith, but allows them to conduct their religious ceremonies in private. Border Disputes
The Treaty of Newcastle
There was a Scottish-English border dispute dating to the Battle of Alnwick in 1174 that the respective Kings had not been able to resolve. In August 1244, they sent their armies to engage in combat due to the disputes concerning the exact position of the border line. After the two opposing armies met near Newcastle Upon Tyne hostilities were set aside and The Treaty of Newcastle was signed on August 14, 1244, between King Henry III of England and King Alexander II of Scotland. The peace was sealed by arranging a future marriage between English Princess Margaret and Scottish Prince Alexander (later Alexander III). They married in 1251 in York, when Margaret was 11 years old, and Alexander was 10 years old; they later had three children.(2)
Territory sovereignty
Pope Innocent IV was head of the Catholic Church and ruler of the Papal States from 25 June 1243 until his death in 1254. During the previous Papacy, The Emperor Gregory IX had demanded the return of lands belonging to the Papal States which had been seized by the Emperor Frederick II. As Cardinal Sinibaldo, the new Pope, had been on friendly terms with Frederick.
The Emperor Frederick wrote a respectful letter to the new pontiff however, also expressed hope for an amicable settlement of the differences between the empire and the papacy. Negotiations began shortly afterwards but were not successful. The dispute continued mostly about the restitution of Lombardy to the Patrimony of St Peter.
The Emperor’s machinations aroused a good deal of anti-papal feelings in Italy, particularly in the Papal States, and imperial agents encouraged plots against papal rule. Realizing he was becoming increasingly unsafe in Rome, Innocent IV secretly and hurriedly withdrew, fleeing Rome on 7 June 1244. On October 5, 1244, he traveled to Lyon, France, where he arrived on November 29. Although the city was nominally subject to the Holy Roman Empire, Innocent IV was there under the protection of Louis IX.(3)
Religious defeat and rejection
Fall of Jerusalem
“In 1244, the holy city of Jerusalem fell to an alliance of Muslim forces led by a Khwarazmian army. The Christian and Jewish populations of the city were slaughtered and the bodies of the past crusader Kings of Jerusalem were dragged out of their tombs and thrown into the street. This massacre marked the end of Christian control, which would not resume in Jerusalem until the British mandate in the 20th century.” (4)
After hearing that Jerusalem was sacked by the Khwarazmians, the Crusaders assembled a force of some 1,000 cavalry and 6,000 men outside Acre, and were joined by 4000 men from the Ayyubid forces of Damascus and Homs – while Emir An-Nasir Dawud brought his army from Kerak.
On October 17 that Crusader army of some 10,000 men engaged in the Battle of La Forbie to be defeated near Hiribya (or La Forbie) by Egyptian and Khwarazmian forces. The army was destroyed, with about 7,500 men killed.(5)

In the two previous cases, the Sun, ruler of Leo was respectively in Libra and Virgo. Now with the Sun in Scorpio, the triple conjunction may respond to financial issues, disputes, or crises. Sun and Mars are in mutual reception, supporting each other in some way. There could also be a mysterious or secret component, strategies of war, individuals disappearing from center stage due to financial mishandlings, or the uncovering of a religious figure’s manipulations behind the scenes. Scorpio imposes a profound transformation for such individual.
Pluto in Aquarius, modern ruler of Scorpio, may indicate that the target individual could have been involved in networks, political parties, or technology. Whomever might be affected, will certainly have a planet or angle around those degrees. Same should be considered if a territory is affected with border disputes.
