Sun in Taurus -April 19 to May 19, 2022

    The Sun ingresses Taurus. Happy Birthday my Taurus friends and clients! Beware of surprises though! For all of us it means that we become better attuned with Nature, more stable but not without one or two shocks.  Normally, Taurus is steady and able to enjoy the small pleasures of life, like a good table, some sweets, and other activities using the senses. Homemade food is a delight to your palate. Listening to music a delight your ears. Find your favorite and enjoy! The quiet may not last too long.
We are already in the Taurus Scorpio Eclipse Season and by the end of the month the solar eclipse conjoins Uranus. This could bring a shake! Stay tuned and read about this eclipse here.

    The Sun at 0º Taurus squares the 0º Aquarius where Jupiter and Saturn conjoined on December 21, 2020. Every time a planet aspects this point in the sky some unconscious memory, as it were, comes out to show us the way onto the new Air Era that the sky chronocrators set up in motion. Just observe the world and your personal life, take note, and remember. Some time in the future those memories of the world to come will be significant.

    The Sun journey in Taurus is full of bumps. After the Solar Eclipse, he joins Uranus on May 5. You want to be different, do something unexpectedly. Find some time for relaxation, you’ll need it before the Sun conjoins Uranus. Moon conjunct Uranus first, just a few hours after the eclipse. The Sun a few days later. This means that our conscious and unconscious self are united to initiate innovation. People everywhere in the world are asking themselves and others, how do we need to change our way of producing food in order to ensure that we eat tomorrow. Uranus work is to fracture our stability and the Taurus inertia in order for us to understand that the economic activity as we know it is no longer working for our benefit. This 'fracture' transforms our values and desires, which translates in us changing our consumerism habits. Our eating and buying habits are changing drastically in response to this fracture.

    In the same way Uranus in Taurus accompanied the Great Depression between 1934 and 1941, he is drying out the climate, the land, the air. Strong wind carrying dust and sand will probably have damaging effects over different regions of the earth. Agriculture will be affected by drought and some fertile lands become deserts.

    However, Uranus works also like the strike of a thunderbolt in our intellect. People will come up with genius seeds of ideas in order to face the losses, the scarcity and the economic contraction. A higher level of consciousness will help us expand our awareness of reality, make radical transformations in our daily lives, operate sudden changes and adopt innovative methods of food production.

    Uranus rules Aquarius where Saturn is transiting, showing us that we need to restructure our social behavior. One way Saturn imposed restriction was social separation, but we can expect that other social restructuring is here to stay. More than ever before, people realize how important is the exchange of ideas, and finding your own like-minded group to pool together, unite the creative variety in order to build something new. The creation of the new paradigm is up to our collective collaboration and cooperative undertakings for the benefit of the local community.

    Soon after on May 7, Sun sextile Mars, and you're ready to take the opportunity to do it. One week later, the Sun joins the North Node. You receive a boost of energy and others congratulate you and admire you for what you have done. 

    However, by the middle of the day on May 15, the Sun is not so happy in square with Saturn.  Some serious situation blocks your project, and you need to stop and consider the long term repercussions of your ambition. You may also feel frustrated. You want to enjoy life, but are tied by restrictions, responsibilities, hard work, or a rigid and pessimistic attitude. Your self-expression takes a back seat, and most probably don’t even feel like having fun. You need to take responsibility for something, and rather work than watch TV. Be careful with harsh or rigid attitudes towards others. That would mostly happen because you really feel drained out of your vitality, tired, maybe somewhat pessimistic. If someone around you ignore this heavy attitude of yours, you may accuse that person of being selfish or childish. Remember that Saturn didn’t like childish behavior, in fact, he just ate his children to avoid having to deal with them!  (I hope at least you smiled at that) I’m sure you won’t want to eat your children, but you will discipline them more than you normally do.

If all that were not enough, right before leaving Taurus on May 19, the Sun trine the Mighty of the zodiac, Pluto. Pluto has been stationary, and turned retrograde on April 29, which means that he is digging deep in the 29th degree of Capricorn, and will do it until the end of June. This Sun Pluto trine will certainly not pass unnoticed. Authority figures might strengthen their power, possibly through manipulation or obscure dealings. On the bright side, it could be your opportunity for empowerment, or to build the necessary fortitude to succeed in some challenging task or endeavor. 

Use the Taurus season consciously and you could greatly benefit from these transits.

Taurus Solar Eclipse on the North Node

Venus leading Taurus from Pisces

     Last time there was a Taurus Solar Eclipse with the North Node in Taurus was in May 1985! 37 years ago. This means that two complete Nodal cycles (18.5 years) have passed until now. I found that significant considering the all the 'beginnings' were in Scorpio, a Sign of secrets, undercurrents, debt, investments, manipulations, codependence, hidden financial speculations, but also crime. Starting the Moon cycle in Taurus aim to self-empowerment, and autonomy. Also Taurus North Node calls to use your own energy, money and influence to promote your independence and that of others.     To find a Solar Eclipse on the Taurus North Node, you have to go back to these dates: May 19, 1985 at 28º49'; May 9, 1967 at 18º16'; May 20, 1966 at 28º55'; May 9, 1948 at 18º 30'; April 28, 1930 at 7º42'; or May 9, 1929 at 18º9'. If you were alive back then, go back Memory Lane to remember what happened then. This eclipse may bring similar issues. 

    A Solar Eclipse on the North Node is already a New Moon on steroids, or better yet on caffeine! If you add its conjunction to Uranus, this eclipse could be an explosion in the Zodiac house where it happens. This brings a great opportunity to break with the status quo in that area of experience. 

    On the North Node, the Solar Eclipse attracts, activates, brings unexpected circumstances or events that you won't always consider positive. Misconceptions abound about the North Node bringing good things, while it only means that it is an attractor. Even though it is the direction the collective is taking, it's unfamiliar territory, new additions, fresh endeavors, inexperienced works. 

    The chart has basically dominant Fixed Earth energy, meaning that it is hard to move, and there maybe some breaks in order to get what is coming. And with Uranus, breaks are guaranteed! Uranus is not a soft or consistent kind of influence, on the contrary, brings sudden liberation, original creativity, eccentric ideas, and emotional surprises. Usually Uranus breaks with the norms of how things are 'supposed' to be. 

    However, let's not overlook this hidden and subtle detail. Saturn is Contra-parallel both Sun and Moon, which means 'opposition'. So, there will be struggles, blocks, delays and difficulties getting what you are about to receive. Of course, at the same time, Saturn Contra-parallel Uranus, activating the long standing clash (last quarter square) that we felt all 2021, and will have the next 'chapter' around October 2022. 

    The ruler of the Eclipse is Venus in Pisces in conjunction with Jupiter and in close company of Neptune. Venus is considered doubly exalted, both in the degree and Sign of her exaltation. She may introduce otherworldly Venusian elements, like financial circumstances never seen before, or unheard of kinds of relationships and alliances. As she is the Goddess of social activity as well, you can expect odd and yet colorful ways to relate to others. If any of these fall in your fifth or seventh house, it may mean meeting some amazing person out of a movie or a spaceship. 

    Yet, Venus occupies the midpoint between Pluto and the previous Taurus eclipse we had last year at the end of the Sign. The present eclipse then can be the catalyst for the transformation started then. Venus sextile Pluto gives you a new understanding about how to change habits especially related to relationships and social life. It is also a good aspect to get great ideas about business, finances, or to create an artistic enterprise. There is also potential for good intense sex with your partner with great (Jupiter) enjoyment and unbelievable bliss (Neptune). 

    Last but not least, Mars sextile the Solar Eclipse contributes the courage, initiative and impulse necessary to do something, or to get what it's offered and you are ready to receive.

    Overall, it may be a time of a great surprise that will leave you in wonderment or stupefaction, but after the last two years, aren't we all ready for something new and good? Do you have a planet or point between 8 and 12 degrees of the fixed Signs, Taurus, Leo, Scorpio or Aquarius? Then your chart will vibrate and twinkle like a Christmas tree with this Solar Eclipse. Saturn Square the Nodes of the Moon

Uranus in Taurus with the North Node of the Moon

 

Squares to the Nodes are as significant as the conjunctions. Having a slower planet square them gives even more consequential developments. Those can be lasting for two reasons, one because it's Saturn Lord of Time, in this case, but also because Saturn will soon retrograde and activate this degree two more times (August 1, 2022 and January 1, 2023). Of course, the Moon cycles that degree every month as well.

In this cross position with the Moon's domain, Saturn shares with the Moon the timings of life. Saturn square the Nodal Axis at 22º♒️57', represents the revisit and revision of personal conditionings and rigid structures of life. Be it family, social, religious, behavioral or psychological, the ingrained conditioning of personal life have defined so far our lifestyle. Our fears and phobias limit our decisions. Guilt or repressed blame hurt us unconsciously and usually affect health. Criticism cripples relationships. And so on. Since Saturn is in Aquarius, the conditionings probably relate to your social alliances, to the dreams and goals you have as you participate in society, the groups of people you like to frequent, and social activity and your creative contribution to society. 

At this point you're taking responsibility for your life and all the implications resulting from those ancient and decadent conditionings. You have the opportunity to reestablish your inner authority. Recognizing those unconscious motivations that create your 'autopilot' mode, helps you to decondition and dismantle old crystallized structures of your personality. It's a good time to stop criticizing and being so tough on yourself... and on others.

At the collective level, Saturn in Aquarius operates a societal reorganization. The connectivity industry corporations implement a more rigid control over the social nets by reconditioning, restructuring, and increasing regulation. With multiple satellite launches (i.e. SpaceX Starlink) the old ways of communication are now a story of the past (Scorpio codependence). It's all about becoming autonomous and self sufficient (Taurus). 

By the same token, the traditional values and conventions of society have to evolve. They have in fact radically transformed, due to the sanitary concerns related to the pandemic. Social distance with a certain dose of misanthropy have replaced hugs and kisses, and is here to stay. The elbow rub became elbow bumps, and handshakes metamorphosed into Anjali Mudra bow. 

Personal relationships are evolving as well. Online dating and other social interactions seem to be more of the norm than the exception. And with that, people feel so much more isolated (if not alienated!) that addictions (online) and suicides are on the rise. Having to go home for schooling, youth suffer more than adults this sense of separation, often with fatal consequences. 

Tech companies have also restructured. Working remotely and virtual meetings are the new vogue. Even though the Air (Aquarius) is by definition lighter, now solidifies (Saturn) its grab. The evolution of lighter flying has come closer to the Earth surface with the drones. 

In all cases, Saturn in Aquarius square the Nodes is a change of direction, a revision and renewal of the Air structures of life. The forward direction is the simplicity and stability of Taurus. However, let us keep in mind that the North Node joins Uranus (ruler of Aquarius) there. Even the simple and steady ways of the bull are shaken to the core!

Mercury Square Pluto - April 10, 2022

 negotiating with Pluto the liberation of Persephone 

     The time of danger continues as April progresses. This time, Mercury square Pluto, has the ability to make you completely discard previous ideas, transform your reasoning, and regenerate your opinion. 

    At another level, you may become suspicious, mistrust others, the news, messages and other communications. It's not a good idea to make agreements of any sort under this transit, especially if they relate to finances, loans, debt, insurance, taxes, inheritance. 

    If your chart receives a hard aspect from these two planets, then there could be environmental pollution around you, in your neighborhood, from your neighbor, or in your sibling's home. 

    Travelling may result in serious problems, and danger. Also, your mind may be burdened with some shadowy ideas that may result in poor and unhealthy decisions if you follow them into action. But generally speaking, you are just too much focused on global problems generated by governments (Pluto is in Capricorn after all) and affecting the whole Humanity as collective. Government representatives of any country could be making secret deals behind the scenes, complots against individuals or countries and such.     

    Since I touch on this subject, it's important to consider that the USA is experiencing the Pluto Return at this time and the Mercury transit forms a T-Square with the natal Mercury and Part of Fortune. Because transiting Mercury is at the cusp of the 5th house, those changing their convictions are the Ambassadors and other Diplomats regarding international affairs. Be attentive to their communications, conversations and announcements. 

    Saturn approaches the Moon of the USA foreshadowing limitations, harsh times ahead, repression, depression affecting its people. However, right at 25º, shy only of 2 degrees from the Moon, Saturn will station retrograde on June 4, and will not conjoin the Moon until next year. This is just heads up for you. Prepare and be ready for the coldness and dryness of this severe planet on the people (US Moon) next year. Research and remember what happened 29.5 years ago, it was around 1994. 

At the same time Mercury squares Pluto, he opposes Haumea, the Goddess of Creation and Nature's regeneration. There is here an indication that whatever transformative message is given, it certainly harms, damages, and desecrates Mother Earth and hinders its ability to recover from destruction.

    There may also be important revelations in the media about things that have been hidden, denied, and are now recognized to be toxic, corrupted, degenerated, on the verge of extinction. These could be very bad news for people in general. It's important to be cautious, since Mercury also rules the lungs and the digestion.

Mars Saturn Conjunction - April 4-5, 2022

     Both the rulers of the Nodes of the Moon form a T-square with them. At the end of March, Venus, ruler of the North Node in Taurus, joined Saturn and squared the Nodal Axis. Now Mars, traditional ruler of the South Node in Scorpio, takes his turn, and will do the same on April 4-5, 2022. 

    If Venus got her values straightened, and she adopted more austere tastes, learned to love more formally at her meeting with Saturn, Mars also needs to get his act together. Saturn will impose restrictions on the impetus and fast drive of Mars, and originate great frustration. Saturn thwarts all and any kind of activity, including military endeavors, because he imposes the need for better organization, considering time constraints and rules. Mars may want to charge forward, but Saturn says, 'it's better to wait for the right time, the right place, and the right measure'. 

    You probably remember very well when two years ago, Mars also joined Saturn, then at 0º Aquarius (March 31, 2020), because you were told to stay home. Then, that homestay lasted a long time, on and off, in different forms and levels of confinement, but you had to follow the rules. 

    Here we are again! but with Vesta, Juno and Venus flanking the Mars Saturn conjunction maybe things will take a less oppressive even though equally committed turn. Astrologers cannot tell exactly what the issue at hand will be, but one thing is certain, the whole collective (Aquarius) will be affected. Given the circumstances, we may guess that military operations may require better planning for success, or otherwise find obstacles or experience delays. People in certain parts of the world need to take refuge in safe places, or the 'virus' may take over again (certain China cities are already in lockdown), or internet communications (Aquarius) may be stalled due to criminal cyber works. Another possibility could be that electrical power plants get out of order due to cyber 'special interventions' and people get cut off from the rest of the world. 

    In your personal life, any activity will be limited, either because of outside influences or because your muscles (Mars) cramp up (Saturn) and it's hard to move (this already happened to me, by the way). You feel frustrated because you try to start something and some obstacles doesn't allow you to do it. Look at the Aquarius house in your chart to see what area of your life will be affected. 

    If Venus square the Nodes has made you realize that you can't count on the previous global sources of distribution of goods, and that you needed to rely on more natural resources to survive. Mars square the Nodes may see that you have developed a codependence on the globalization and you need to start working in your local community garden to increase the chances of a good supply of cheaper food. 

    These two squares to the Nodes, accompanied by Saturn's bring great frustration to the consumer. Inflation through the roof forces you to simplify your life. Buy only what is necessary, be more frugal and waste less. Next time you want to throw food away, you'll think twice. 

    Finally Saturn squares the Nodes as well. He puts the brakes and you need to stop, reassess, develop a new plan to change directions. It will take more time and effort, but the compass goes towards Taurus. Suddenly you focus your attention and efforts on that house of your horoscope.

    April promises to be challenging, but you were born to live during these times, you can do it!
