Grand Cross With Pluto Opposite Natal USA Mercury

"I want you!" Enlist! by James Montgomery Flagg, 1940.
National Archives, Army Recruiting Bureau

Let's imagine the Grand Cross is a boxing ring. And there are four fighters. On one corner, Pluto in Capricorn. Next corner, Eris in Aries. Then USA Mercury in Cancer. Finally, on the last corner the Sun and Mars in Libra. Each boxer is against the other three! These days are very volatile in USA politics.

Pluto has been opposing USA Mercury since 2020, simultaneously square Eris in Aries, hence the heavy propagandistic tone of the politicians and activists at all levels and about all subjects. The last time Pluto exactly opposed US Mercury was January 1st, 2021 and we all know what happened just 5 days later.

Now, the Sun and Mars entered a 3 degree orb to the Grand Cross by opposing Eris and squaring Pluto. The configuration will perfect around October 17 through the 21, when first Sun then Mars reach the 24º mark in Libra.  Expect explosive antagonism between opposing camps, factions, sectors, opinions, parties. Each band will try to 'enlist' you. Try to stay neutral and observe. The 'air' is so hot, that a symbolic fire can start. And I guess, it all started in Texas. In fact, it all started with the previous USA President, and a 'little help' with the unbridled social media and its convoluted logarithms.

May the common people spread peace and understanding instead of anger and hate. May we all reflect (Mercury retrograde) on what is really important and learn to live together in harmony to preserve the good values and discard the bad ones (Pluto transit 2d house of USA chart).

Sat Nam.

Building Blocks to the Libra New Moon

Sun ♎️ opposite Chiron ♈︎

According to the myth, Apollo adopted the rejected, abandoned, orphaned Chiron, and took him under his 'wing' of protection. It was thanks to the Sun God, then, that Chiron first realized that he could gather all the pieces of his wounded life, put them together and make something significant with it. It was thanks to the guidance of the Sun God, that he was able to re-create himself, gain optimism and find joy in life.

The Sun opposite Chiron in Aries highlights your wound on 'the other' so they reflect your vulnerability back to you. Is that moment in the year when we have an illumination on your broken identity.

When Chiron was first in front of the Sun God, Apollo, it was probably the moment when he saw so clearly his flaws, and his wound became so obvious. However, it was the benevolence of the adopted father, Apollo, that awoke in him the desire and the energy to put those weaknesses, insecurities and pains to good use.

The protection, teachings, and leadership of the Sun's Higher Power instilled in Chiron's soul new energy to overcome the confrontation with his dismal reality. He was taught specific skills that helped him gain strength, wisdom, dexterity, and the necessary knowledge to understand himself, find meaning and purpose in his wounds. He discovered and studied different ways to develop his creative healing force.

Apollo enlightened Chiron, he taught him all he knew about diseases, healing, music, poetry, songs, dance, archery, and much more! Thanks to the Sun God, Chiron became an authority in the field of Healing. As such, he was a Shaman, Alchemist, Astrologer, Healer, Wiseman, Moral Guide and Leader. Apollo trusted his disciple with higher responsibilities when he assigned him the education of Asclepius, who later became the God of Medicine, Healing, Rejuvenation and the Doctors.

At the personal level, the Sun may bring another person to your life who can show you how to use your flaws, and weaknesses to your advantage. That person may be a mentor, therapist or just a friend or partner, to help you see your imperfect life not only under a more positive light, but also as the very instrument of your leadership or the essence of your creative power. That person may do it even inadvertently, but you will immediately know and receive the message that will transform your life completely, and finally heal your wound.

Building Blocks to the New Moon in Libra

On the Fence, not seeing eye to eye

There is an important trio in Libra. The Sun is travelling close with Mars preparing to conjoin forces and start a new synodic cycle on October 7, a day after the Libra New Moon. Mercury stationed to retrograde on September 27, sustains a potent square to Pluto, who is also stationed to turn direct on October 6.

These are potent positions for the Libra trio. Your mind is agitated, you are eager to speak and deal with any relationship because you ‘smell something fishy’. You could be suspicious, have difficulty trusting others or incline to coerce the ‘other’ to obtain what you want. In dealings and trade, you may be the victim of frustrating secret manipulations.

At the public and collective level, you have worrying thoughts about environmental hazards, global problems that may affect your finances. In fact, now that inflation is generalized in most places of the world, anything can happen, considering not only that Venus is opposite Uranus, but she is also in mutual reception with Mars, and is the ruler of the next New Moon in Libra.

One crisis after another, Pluto is demolishing all the institutional structures of the establishment, and will continue to do so for several years, as the Saturn Pluto synodic cycle moves on. Mars trine Saturn today ensuring that your energy is used efficiently and in a disciplined order. You are working hard and seriously, going one step at a time and watching the clock. Saturn wants things done on time and with a high level of integrity and responsibility.

At the same time the Sun and Mars are forming and Grand Trine with the North Node at 3º, harmonizing your hard work with the direction you’re heading on to. You are full of Air energy focused on your social connections, working online, making friends, using technology, sending text messages or emails, and probably keeping informed on the subjects that interest you.
