The most important message Chiron in Aries brings in March is a lesson about human vulnerability in this third dimension of physicality (Saturn), and human lack of control over life. As incarnated beings in the flesh, we took the cross of limitation. We are not spirits freely roaming around anywhere, we are attached to matter and endure its rules (Saturn). Saturn glyph ♄, is the soul (curved leg) bending over under the weight of the 'cross'. It's not surprising that the physical life brings pain, illness, decay, and death. Saturn was anciently associated with the Grim Reaper as well. However, suffering, since it is our response to the pain, is a choice.

The first week of March, Chiron in Aries squares the December 25-26, 2019 Solar Eclipse at 4º 6' Capricorn. 

As I wrote in February, 4º Capricorn is also the degree of the previous Saturn Pluto conjunction January 4, 1518. Among other important events, that year Hernan Cortes headed to Mexico, where he so easily conquered a whole civilization of more than 30 million people, in just a few months! How? Two important allies: making alliance with Aztecs' enemies, and unknowingly bringing with them smallpox. To ensure victory, he burned the expedition ships! There was no return, it was a “win or die” determination.

Just that event opened the portal to the conquest of a whole New Continent, redistributing the powers of the time, and reconfiguring the geopolitical map of the whole World. Of course, the evolution was not done overnight, but in a really Capricornian (Saturnian) way, with ambition, persistence, patience (overtime), and much cruel bloodshed.

At the cosmological level, Nicolau Copernicus, opened Humanity's vision into the cosmos, telling us that the Earth was not the center of the Universe, but the Sun. Then, the process of accepting our cosmic abandonment (Chiron wound) started. Are we not the most important piece in the puzzle? Are we are just a speck in there, almost invisible?

The December Solar Eclipse opened a portal over that long gone past to see through the long way we've walked until our present time. 500 years later, January 12, 2020, Saturn Pluto historical conjunction in Capricorn, not only has threaten a global war, but brought a global illness that threatens our very human existence, but has also the potential to redistribute power. Covid19 impacts the elderly population at a higher percentage, and it's sparing the children and youth who are not much affected by it. The Sign of Capricorn, Saturn and Pluto are associated with the time (Chronos) old age, and the karmic past. 

As a New Era dawns, Humanity has to leave behind (Capricorn South Node of the Moon) its old systems, socio-political structures, traditional institutions and obsolete conditionings and conventions. Because Pluto is associated with transmutation and regeneration, its energy may very well play a role in the reincarnation of very old and experienced souls that are being born since 2008 when this planet entered Capricorn.  Having lived through the Ages, they bring with them the karmic accumulation of wisdom issued of their learned lessons. Look closer at these young children, they are teaching the adults!

Squaring the Solar Eclipse point, Chiron is in the company of Black Moon Lilith in Aries, the shadow yin (feminine) energy inside of us.

In her book, The Astrology of the Black Moon, A Guide to Healing the Shadow Side, Laura Walker states that this conjunction
"Often poses a lifetime of painful experiences. This aspect almost demands that we sacrifice ourselves for others, leading us to walk through life with a deep wound that restricts our personal growth." Death thoughts invade our psyche, awakening "the desire for release from worldly problems." 

She continues "we feel as if we have been wounded to the core. These are some of the most difficult transits. Deep sadness and depression are reported. [...] transits involving the Black Moon intensify feelings of pain that lead to not wanting to continue with life. Self-imposed sacrifices are made or activities are eliminated from outside forces. These transits, however, are designed to heal a wound (often from early childhood) and heal the primary fear. Circumstances come into place to push us to come to terms with our shadow side." 

Furthermore, she associates Lilith in Aries with the shadow of success. "The Black Moon in Aries manifests in the intense quest to be valued and feel worthy." 

As a collective, all the wounds we have inflicted upon ourselves, our human darkest crimes against our spiritual identity are in our face now. The challenge is to heal and Chiron in Aries is the key.

At a personal level, the events develop quickly with a cardinal square, which implies radical changes that will affect your future, your emotional security, comfort, thriving, and survival. Mars in Capricorn, ruler of Chiron in Aries

Mars in Capricorn is the most important actor during March, at least.  Mars will most probably instigate and stir up with impulse if not violence the forces that were awaken with the events that took place between the last two eclipses (threat of war, new illness, refugee crisis, etc). Mars is traditionally considered a 'malefic' influence bringing fevers, pests, heat, anger, and violence. Mars' proximity to Jupiter (traditional ruler of Pisces) increases his influence. Mars association with Chiron, as dispositor, represents well the present wounding effect of the Covid19.

Next New Moon March 23 meets Chiron in Aries and squares the Nodes of the Moon, making Humanity's wound sore. Chiron pokes emotions with his feelings of vulnerability and inadequacy, so we'll need to pamper ourselves a bit to feel better. The Moon in Aries adds a dose of assertiveness to your mood, you get things going, have the energy to get things done and determination to make decisions.

Humanity, as a species, is at a crossroads. During this period, we understand how past actions (karma) weighs on our fragility. We are learning from the past mistakes and facing the challenge of our survival understanding the vulnerability of our inherent identity. The psychic shadows are now in the open for us to reckon with, and we look for refuge and protection for our human condition.

Chiron square the Cancer Capricorn Nodal Axis calls out for examination of and reflection on the past actions, social conventions, traditions, socio political structures, conditionings, established systems of operation, institutional organizations (Capricorn). The review shows that they have thwarted the purpose of our life. Looking for power, prestige, domination, material possessions, and social status (Capricorn) has made us cold, alienated and cruel, deeply wounding our emotional nature (Cancer), that requires affection, nurturance, comfort, protection, safety, and the tender life support that only family and human contact can provide. 

The experiences that we perceive as negative, and sometimes catastrophic, are wake up calls and shakers that attempt to move us into balance and harmony with the Source of Life.

Personal Empowerment by Conquering the Shadow

For your reference, Saturn entered Capricorn in 2017, and Pluto is there since 2008. Pluto is the Lord of Power, wealth, personal resources, regeneration, and human evolution. He impacts our personal life through ruthless challenges, crises, terrible suffering, disempowerment. He forces us to transmute, to refine our desires, to accept our spiritual power and become independent.

Pluto rules also the infinite creative energy of the cosmos, and the human creative sexual power in relationships, or sexual intercourse. It is often by merging with another human being that we experience the most transformative powers within. Then, we start the transformation of our own desires into the desires that benefit two or more people, the partner and the procreated children.

It is when we intimately relate to another person that we can see our shadow. The ego desire is threatened and we begin the power struggles necessary to learn the dimensions of our own power, accept it and use it properly. However, we often fail to achieve the complete process and lose the chance to evolve and empower ourselves. The shadow then shows in our need to control others. We manipulate, obsess, keep secrets, act compulsively, abuse power, or , scared of our own power, engage in self-undoing behaviour.

Then Pluto puts us face to face with powers greater than ourselves to challenge us, heal us and empower us. He creates traumatic crises, we enter in co dependent partnerships, we have an overpowering boss, we become unable to pay a mortgage, or become victim of a crime, or we develop an addiction, all of which can generate cruel and terrifying sufferings. In those situations we may feel the urge to transform our ego desires in a way that benefits all involved. If we succeed in the transmutation process that Pluto imposes, we learn the dimension of our power, we accept it and learn to use it, not only for personal benefit, but in a way that everybody benefits.

Saturn is the builder, organizer, agent of division and separation, discipline and maturation. With his strict, sometimes menacing treatment, he may manifest in the fear of not being able to comply with his requirements and 'adulting' demands. If authorities are tough on us, we may try to slip away to avoid responsibilities, or we may comply in fear. It is like having your father index finger pointed at you, 'do it or else!' However, we are greatly rewarded if we accept the discipline and learn the lesson.

Our shadow shows up as avoidance of taking responsibility or discipline, or eluding a required deep recognition and transformation of our weakness, shortcomings and faults.

At this stage, Pluto shows us how and why he became the Lord of all the Riches of the Earth, and we understand it.

What is your Pluto in Capricorn shadow? Here are some ideas according to your Rising Sign, and to some extent to your Sun Sign if you're older than 30:

CAPRICORN
You undermine yourself emotionally resisting your own power, doubting your own skills, or capacity to do what you want. Your partner, spouse or significant other in your life may manipulate you, be jealous, do things behind your back that infuriate you, so you discover your own power, and learn how to use it. Pluto and Saturn seem to weaken you so you find your own strength.
AQUARIUS
You may have to face your secret enemies, like addictions, shady dealings, unconscious psychological material, self undoing behaviour, family history 'baggage', past life unfinished business or skeletons in the closet that haunt you even in your dreams. Pluto and Saturn bring any of that to the surface so by resolving those issues you discover your power, and learn how to use it.
PISCES
In your social life, you may be facing friends, older relatives, or groups of people to which you belong that are trying to impose on you their ideas, refute your position, or obsessively persecute you for what you say or do. By reacting to those situations, you may discover your own creative power, and learn how to use it.
ARIES
You may have experienced power struggles with your boss because of your or his/her hidden motives. Also a father figure or external powerful force, like government authority, regulation or institution may be pushing your buttons. This way, Pluto incites the recognition and transformation of your own power to confront them and develop your own personal authority.
TAURUS
You have the opportunity to see raw and clear your faulty ethics. Some powerful spiritual teacher, or having access to eternal truths through higher studies, reading an inspirational book, or learning different lifestyles from people of other cultures creates an internal battle of ideologies. Pluto works slowly and runs deeply inside your consciousness to show you that real power lies on not letting your beliefs be in the way of accepting the truth, no matter how fearful you might be.
GEMINI
A profound crisis, traumatic events, financial misfortunes or criminal behaviour overpower you, and trigger your primal survival instincts. Also sharing financial resources with a partner or financial institution may disempower you so you can learn how to stand on your own feet. Sexual merging with your partner can also awake your fears of losing your own power. Pluto and Saturn present those situations to teach you how to conquer your fear and manage your own energies in relationships.
CANCER
Similar to Rising Capricorn because the opposition always involves relationships, through the manipulation, power struggles, obsessive compulsive and jealous behaviour of your life partner, you are forced to learn how to stand for yourself, defend your position and empower yourself. Pluto and Saturn present you with this person's behaviour to teach you how to conquer your fear to be you, and manage your own energies in relationships.
LEO
You may have an overpowering health issue, a challenging workplace or situation, or a daily schedule with which you have a hard time keeping up. Saturn and Pluto will scare you to death, literally, fear of death. You are forced to tap into your natural healing ability, or into your regenerating power, determination, and stamina to overcome the situation, or illness. This way you discover your own inner power to sustain your life and heal.
VIRGO
You may experience strong feelings and desire for someone who is not romantically available, feeling powerless in face of the impossible love. You may have a strong longing for a connection with your children that are separating from you for whatever reason, like in the empty nest syndrome. Outer forces may remove all possibility of enjoyment, or you may not be able to experience joy in your life. Saturn and Pluto make you fear loneliness so you learn to generate joy within your own soul.
LIBRA
You may be deprived of home and family life, which makes you fear for your safety, comfort and nurturance and feel abandoned. Pluto and Saturn gives you these experiences so you find those powers inside of yourself and learn how to provide security and wellbeing for yourself.
SCORPIO
Siblings, classmates, neighbors or just your immediate environment can present overwhelming influences that seem to crush your life force. Saturn and Pluto are trying to teach you that you don't need to surrender to what happens to you, and that you have the power to influence your environment and affect the lives of people with whom you relate every day.
SAGITTARIUS
Scarcity, personal financial instability, material deprivation, lack of life essentials to survive, and even hunger squeeze your life force energy to the point that you are compelled to work harder to be able to thrive. This way, Saturn and Pluto show you that you have the power within to stand up for yourself and be strongly independent.

The January 12, 2020 Great Conjunction - Part III

World Chart of the New Era

Mine is an attempt to read the Great Conjunction chart as the Birth of a New Era for the World. The series starts HERE. I will explain the meaning of each Zodiac House using some of the methods I use to read any Birth Chart. This way the reader will also have a sense of how I work. I start here a series of posts revealing the meanings through the houses rulership. 

Choose and hold the direction you want to go in your life.

Third house ruler, Mercury, is in the 10^th house. 

The mind of people is much on what is going on in the public sphere than in their private lives now. Nothing new, right? Especially when millions of people are glued to the media around the world, listening to what their government officials are doing and saying, even though they should know that the politicians keep the truth well hidden in the underworld of their dealings.

With the same token, people may be inclined to be more secretive and protect their information, especially since the media culture promotes openly sharing private lives and then the media owners turn around and sell people’s information to the higher bidder. Not only that but, technology, marketing and skills (all ruled by Mercury) are now so well fine-tuned that it is super easy for the tech savvy to breach into virtually any system not protected by a long series of 36-characters passwords. So, yes, protect yourself by protecting your information!

The communication area gets a more complicated twist because Mercury is overpowered by Pluto and Saturn in Capricorn, and no less by the Sun that makes all of them invisible. Mercury, since he is neutral, always infuses himself with the surrounding planetary energy. For this reason, governmental institutions will have a strong grip on media, communications, and the freedom of speech. Moreover, they can implement heavy-to-digest censure, restrictive regulations, propaganda (not that people haven't seen it lately), manipulations, and generate new laws that heavily thwart all communications, and media businesses. 

Writers, journalists, teachers, broadcasters, translators, interpreters, and communicators of any kind will most probably be constraint to obey new laws that blocks the free flow of information. People can expect the Internet and all media outlets to be heavily regulated, manipulated and manipulative, flooded by propaganda and 'official' public information. People will read, this time for real, the 1984 book by George Orwell, cover to cover. 

The regulation of communications goes very well with the innovative body implanted chips mentioned before. From now on, people won't even need to think for themselves, they will be thought instead. 

Neighborhoods, short distant travels, commute, domestic travel, marketing, advertising, and early education may as well be heavily controlled by a central power and surveilled by the organization of law enforcement (Mercury conjunct Saturn Pluto). The Sun, as the center of the Solar System, in other words, the Boss, overpowers them all. I’m not sure how this will translate in physical reality, if there will be a totalitarian authority in charge of the obscure communication dealings, or in fact, if the sunlight will not allow the underworld influence to see the day. Let’s hope for the best.

Meanwhile, we are the only captain of our personal lives. We can turn the energy around and have it work in a positive beneficial way for us, if and when we transform our way of thinking and our connection with the environment (Mercury). Are we willing to change our behavior online? Will we continue to expose ourselves and make ourselves vulnerable navigating the Internet? Users, clients and customers are who define what the one in power offers and sells. For example, adults should learn how the media work, and teach the children how to behave in public networks. Early basic education is another area ruled by Mercury. I’m afraid that the common folks have to take education in their hands because it is obvious that governments are not interested in people’s learning or understanding anything.

Reading and learning can be liberating. Read!

Remember that Astrology shows what we are doing, because the Universe is inside of us. If we change, the cosmos changes. We are the creators of our own reality. If you want something to change, change it in yourself!

Fourth House ruler, the Moon, is in the Fifth house. 

In turn, the Moon in Leo is ruled by the Sun in Capricorn conjunct our titans, Saturn and Pluto. The Sun there represents a maximum unipersonal government authority. However, it could also represent one’s personal core essence and personal expression of it. Home and family life as well as our comfort and intimate safety, again, is heavily watched, regulated and surveilled by the head of the state, whoever that is, and wherever one lives. 

As I said before, Saturn in Capricorn is the motto energy in this chart. The Sun in Capricorn is the Lord ruling everything public, political, institutional, governmental. If there is a totalitarian authority is because each one of us has made it so. How? Giving our personal power away in the name of safety and security, expecting that the government will watch after the people. Mistake, it doesn’t! Saturn gives a dry and barren feeling to this era, with many restrictions and much contraction. If people don’t change the dynamic and mature, Saturn may bring scarcity to the households, and separation from family members.  

Be the Captain of your own life.

Families should focus their efforts on providing a safe place for children (Also North Node in Cancer). Home may be a place where children thrive, where the confidence, comfort, joy, satisfaction and security will be provided by trusting the higher authority, who in turn ensures the family protection. There will be a tendency to look for enjoyments at home, having leisure and entertaining activities mainly within the walls of the house. All family members may participate together in the practice of sports, artistic expressions, education or going out to performing events. You decide who the maximum authority is. Part IV
