2023 Lunar Nodes Aries Libra - Learning the You and Me Exchange

Rahu and Ketu are the two parts of the dragon representing eternity.

    The Lunar Nodes will ingress the Aries Libra axis on July 17, 2023 (True Nodes). This implies a shift in energy focus. Even though the rulers are still Venus and Mars, they switch roles. Mars rules now the North Node in Aries, Venus the South Node in Libra. However their energy is different in these Signs of the Zodiac. If in Taurus, the focus is material reality, in Libra, it is about the valorization and meaning of it. For example, in Taurus the art is expressed in crafts, manual creations using raw materials, usually for a practical purpose. Whereas Libra's creativity is expressed in the refinement of more developed art forms, like abstractions that convey a meaning. For example, Libra artists use technology and elaborated materials, like a canvas and processed oil colors for painting. Since Libra is an Air Sign, Venus expresses her abstract energetic octave, that manifests in relationships, and the value of things.

  It is important to consider the presence of Chiron in Aries when analysing the North Node transiting this Sign. Last time the North Node moved to Aries in 1967, Chiron was at 29º Piscis. When Chiron entered Aries on April 1st, 1968, the North Node was already at 18º Aries. In USA, the Civil Rights Movement reflected the struggle for existence and recognition of one's identity. With Chiron in Pisces, identity is dissolved and the individual feels abandoned, he or she is not being accepted as a separate entity. Moreover makes part of the whole of Life and Creation and may be merged with the whole collective and forgotten. Since Aries is the Sign of the Birth (identity) or entrance into life in the world, Chiron in Aries represents the suffering and vulnerability of not finding one's place in it, usually because of one's appearance or the way one presents or projects oneself out. Even deeper goes the feeling that one doesn't belong in the world. Thus, the skin color, or the way one identifies clashes with others' expectations (Libra) and a negotiation is needed to rebalance the polarity. 

Now, on the opposite side, the South Node in Libra will play with Haumea, Ceres and Makemake along the way. The conjunction of the South Node with Haumea on July 28, 2023 @ 28º♎️59' in absolutely perfect square to Pluto at 28º♑️59!!!  This is also the degree of the Venus Star Point on October 22, 2022. The South Node Haumea conjunction also opposes, therefore re-activates, the previous Aries Solar Eclipse @ 29º ♈️ of April 19, 2023. Notice the T-Square SE-Pluto-Haumea! These are critical times for the regeneration of Nature on Earth. It may indicate cataclysmic events that destroy not only existing life on Earth but its capacity for recuperation and renewal. Meanwhile, make sure you do all in your power to preserve and protect with love your little corner in this world. 

Another superduper event will take place on September 4, 2023, when the South Node conjoins Ceres and the North Node joins Eris, both at the same time exactly at 25º Aries Libra. If they sell tickets for this one, please save me a seat. I'm sure it will not pass unnoticed. Remember that Ceres was one of the five planets involved in the Saturn Pluto conjunction of January 12, 2020. That day, Ceres -which represents the abundance of the Earth, especially of the resources that sustain life- has been overpowered and put under the dominion of corporate (Capricorn) power structures. Now, with the South Node, Ceres may represent significant losses of those life-sustaining resources, or otherwise having to go back to ancient ways and methods of producing them. As a corollary, the North Node stimulates Eris, the Woman Warrior who fights for her right to exist, belong and be recognized.  

Of course, the key points of the Aries Libra Nodal Axis transit are the eclipses.

The Ingress Chart

Nodes ingress Aries Libra 7-17-2023

The Nodal Axis ingress to Aries and Libra carries a heightened cardinal energy due to the Grand Cross formed. As seen in the illustration, the North Node conjunct the previous Aries Solar Eclipse at 29º50' (April 19, 2023) and Eris. The South Node conjoins Haumea. The Nodal axis is square by Pluto in Capricorn and the New Moon in Cancer. This Cardinal Grand Cross clearly defines the entire transit of the Nodes in Aries Libra, with radical changes in the material reality. The dominant energy is Fixed Water, which means that it will not be easy for people to change their mindset due to their intense emotional engagement. When people are driven by emotions, they tend to react instead of responding to situations and challenges. Most probably, the intensification of conflicts, clashes and confrontation between two opposite positions will dominate the one and a half year period of the Aries Libra Nodal Axis, in our personal lives as well as in the mundane arena. 

The North Node in Aries

Then, the North Node in Aries indicates the direction Humanity is going this time around, and will have to play with Chiron, but not only, because Eris is also planted at 25º. Eris fights for the disenfranchised of society to be accepted, recognized as significant players in society.

Generally speaking, not only the North Node in Aries has Humanity thrive for life and its existence, but also to recognize all human identities as human. It is a call to finding one's place in the world, the right to be 'born' and to have an autonomous life. It implies asserting one's identity without apologies or compleasance. Like a baby, Aries is bluntly honest and direct, simple and primal, doesn't know yet of conventions or compromises. 

The Aries North Node will stimulate initiative, individuality, freedom to be and occupy a space, to become an individual in their own right, and to have independence, with all that this implies for society. The multiple threats to human existence due to environmental changes will shift the population distribution on the surface of the planet, be the source for mass migrations and geopolitical conflicts.

By extension of the symbolism, people feel the urgency to focus on survival due to the critical scarcity of resources that sustain life. They will have the courage to invest their own energy and drive to explore and invent new ways of living, to develop pioneering business, or engage in any personal enterprise. We will see the first, the fastest, and the winners in many endeavors including sports and other physical activities because there will be a great focus on conquering objectives. 

Aries is the Sign of the warrior, so unfortunately more countries may be involved in wars and destruction because of broken conventions, treaties, and agreements (South Node in Libra). The countries will not seek people's approval to engage in war, and attacks could be swift and speedy, decided on a blind impulse. Many people will have the desire to become soldiers and fight for their countries. Other will find a good cause to fight for, like freedom, justice, and the recognition of the basic rights of existence. 

At a more personal level, some will assert their uniqueness, others may become more egocentric and selfish, and yet others could engage in risky behavior.  Ruled by Mars, all actions in the zodiac house occupied by Aries are direct, impulsive, often rush and inconsiderate. With the Mars motto 'Act first and think later', many will start projects without knowing if they have the proper resources to complete it. 

With Mars in Virgo at the Nodes ingress in Aries, the energy is used to make practical plans with an analytical mind. The assertiveness or aggression of Mars shows in communications, and business. Mars in Virgo is able to tackle more than one task at the same time and do them quickly and precisely. Easily irritable when disturbed, it could make someone's blood boil in an instant, but the rage doesn't last too long. Giving some time to the situation, things could be more manageable. 

Because Mars in Virgo is opposed by Saturn, people will feel very frustrated, and aggression may not reach far. All manifestations of violence, either in the street or in the war, will be met with strong blocks and contention on the part of authorities, rules and regulations. Governments will probably agree to remove or control violence displays in the news and social media. 

The exaggeration of the Aries energy by the North Node could negatively manifest itself in great irritability, anger, even rage and ensue in bullying behavior. This is due to the fear of extinction. People could feel on edge for survival, thus seeing enemies everywhere, feeling the need to fight for justice, or to protect the disenfranchised. Antagonism and heated debates even infuriated disputes could end up in severe aggression. However, it won't be easy to express them due to the Saturn opposition. 

At the mundane level, countries feeling threatened by the slightest opposing argument will show the 'muscle', obsessing with strengthening their military forces and building up their arsenals, and even using them if the dispute escalates. Their main concern will be 'defending' territory, land property and country's frontiers. As a consequence the country's leadership may strengthen and exercise more power than assigned as a representative, thus resulting in overreaching authoritarian force.  

The South Node in Libra

The Nodes work in synchronicity by pulling in opposite directions. The South Node in Libra reflects the great dissatisfaction with agreements and with the way relationships work. Due to an increase in selfishness and a 'me first' approach, there is a tendency to detach from and walk away from compromises adopting attitude that disrupt the peace. This creates situations of discomfort that, in turn, pave the way for arguments and conflict. 

The Sign of the Scales, Libra is the place where relationships are weighed to test if they are in balance. Failure to be equitable, personal, business, and even countries partnerships cannot survive. On the contrary, they will certainly break, again, due to the North Node pull towards independence and search for individual satisfaction disregarding the needs of 'the other'. 

Peace will be very hard to find if not in complete isolation. Fairness, balance, harmony, and justice will lie on the table of the discord. Especially when the North Node joins Eris in Aries. Many alliances, mariages and treaties will be broken if the parties are not able to reach an equitable compromise because pleasing the other is not in the agenda. Legal issues will have to be reconsidered and purged of dishonesty. International diplomacy will increasingly suffer due to uncompromising positions. 

If the Aries end of the rope prevails, all Libra symbols suffer. For example, if people focus on fighting, they are less likely to obey the law (Libra) and don't have time or the disposition for artistic expression, love, relaxation, and comfort. Too much individualism isolates people, making collaboration more difficult when is most necessary. As a result, the South Node indicates the need for a change of values, moral as well as material, in order to appease the urge for aggression. 

At the time of the Nodal ingress in Aries Libra, Venus is almost stopped in Leo, preparing to station retrograde. There, she spends about four months total. During that time, Venus is extra strong, helping us review our values, desires, and the terms of our agreements at all levels, personal, social, political, international. Is the relationship fair? Are we equitable? There will be a greater tendency to voice and stand up for one's own desires and rights, instead of conceding or giving out too much. 

As the karmic Nodes pull in different directions, people are called to use the positive Libra traits of validation, intercession, peacemaking and maybe legal procedures in order to balance the opposing energies. Also, the ability to assert one's own needs, and making commitments to create appropriate partnerships, helps people to join the midway between the two extremes, and achieve a mutual and fair benefit in the exchange. Try to avoid ambiguous attitudes, escapism and people pleasing as well as selfishness and egocentrism since this approach destroys the balance. The best way to navigate this period is to practice equanimity. Consider that one cannot survive in isolation, that we need each other to collaborate, and share resources.

This last week of August, Venus indulges herself as she opposes Jupiter and trine Neptune. 

Desires are expanded without limits, and overindulgence in love, expenses, or social life may backfire. 

You feel that no pleasure is enough; you may ‘drown’ in food, drink, sex, beauty, music, art, anything that makes you relax, and even provides an escape. You may even ditch work, spiritual practice, and morality for a moment’s enjoyment, that will not really satisfy you in the end. 

Be careful spending more than you can afford because you may regret it later. Usually, what may happen is that another person encourages you to go overboard, so it’s important to exercise self-control and moderation if you want to come out of this one ‘uninjured’.

As August draws to a close, Venus is entering a very compromised position in the zodiac. She enters into a Grand Cardinal Square configuration. 

Pluto

Not only does Venus opposes Pluto, but they do it EXACTLY at 22º ♑️46’, the exact degree and minute of the Saturn Pluto conjunction of January 12, 2020. Simply put, Venus and Pluto reactivate the issues that trigger the catastrophic developments of 2020.

Venus in Cancer is ruled by the Moon in Aquarius. This means that the values to hold are the people’s interest in the safety, protection, and security of families. Venus also represents resources, supplies, money, that we need and desire to sustain life (Taurus). She is also the love, self-esteem, and attraction we need to establish and maintain relationships (Libra), personal and social.

Changes issued of powerful forces of transmutation in society, government, institutions, and from those who own the world resources, operate a profound demolition and restructure of the social paradigm. Let’s not forget that Uranus in Taurus (ruled by Venus) is changing values regarding Nature, ecology, the environment, resources, food supply at the same time that changes personal and relationship values.

In opposition to Pluto, Venus is subject to power struggles from the powers that be, from another powerful person, entity or establishment that forces a profound transformation.

This may mean that food supply chains are disrupted due to the structural dismantling. It could mean that natural or human made atomic, radiation, chemical pollution damages the resources we need to survive.
In our present context, it could mean that the virus, since it was, after all, THE main issue related to the Saturn Pluto Conjunction of January 12, 2020, threatens to contaminate people massively, affecting the very fabric of society (Moon in Aquarius).

It could also represent a threat to the real estate value or the ability of the common folks to have a roof over their head.

They will certainly trigger financial upheavals related to taxes, insurance, stock market, and to the money available to the common people.

At a personal level, couples may suffer sexual difficulties, due to manipulation, jealousy, overpowering, submission by force, and violence.

There could be a tendency to trying to change others by relentless force, lack of kindness and consideration for their desires.

This square is the crisis in action point, where action is unavoidable. Certain situation or event requires you to do something related to your desires, finances, resources, love, values.

The opposition to Saturn, indicates restructuring of finances, probable limited access to money, frustration in social life because of isolation, profound depression, delays in business, trade, work, economy. Time to tighten the belt. Resources may be scarce.

In relationships, you may feel unlovable, or unloved, rejected. You may experience separation from the object of your love or have a hard time satisfying your desires. Oppositions in general, are notices when other people, another person, or outside circumstances are against you. Someone may not give you what you want, or may ask you to fulfill your responsibility before giving you what you want. You may have low confidence in relationships and in social life, and feel isolated, lonely.

Juno & Haumea in Libra

Haumea is a newly discovered (Dec. 2004) dwarf planet in the farthest side of the Solar System after Neptune. About the size of Pluto, it's not less significant. It was name out of Haumea is the Hawaiian goddess of fertility and childbirth.

“She gave birth to many children, and to all the island chiefs. She is a great creation Goddess and the ancestor of all indigenous Hawaiians who are descendants of the ancient civilization of Mu. Haumea is a crone archetype and is the elder in a trinity of Hawaiian Goddesses that includes Hina and Pele. Haumea had the power to change her form as her nature was constantly renewing; although she grew old, she was continually transformed into a young woman, representing the cycles of women’s lives.

Each of her children emerged from a different part of her body, symbolizing a profoundly nourishing source of life. Haumea also acts as a divine midwife to human mothers and taught women the mysteries of childbirth. Author Martha Beckworth, whose collection resides in a Hawaiian museum, suggests that the name Haumea actually comes from Hanaumea, which means ‘sacred birth’.

Haumea is thought to inhabit the Makalei tree, a Tree of Life on the island of Oahu, whose mystical branches and deep roots yield infinite amounts of food. Like a Cornucopia, the tree symbolically provides many staples to the Hawaiian people, such as coconut, bamboo, taro root, breadfruit and sugar cane. When the Goddess shakes a sacred branch of the miraculous Makalei tree over water, she attracts abundant fish.”

Venus square Haumea and the asteroid Juno indicate that the nature of our unbridled desires, our dealing with and wasting of the Earth resources are not respecting the capacity of Nature to regenerate, and perpetuate life on Earth. Our extreme consumerist attitude does not even consider the human ability to survive.

The Mars opposition to Juno and Haumea in Libra relates to conflicts in relationships, especially love relationships, but also conflict is social life, meaning relationships of any kind. The energy of Mars is lack of kindness, even gruesome aggressiveness, inconsideration, selfishness. May also indicate financial problems (Libra). In addition, it relates to lack of consideration and reverence for Nature, childbirth, the fertility and the bounty of the Earth, aggressive attitude against any kind of fairness, justice, logic, and measure in the use of Mother Earth’s resources.

Juno, Jupiter's Wife

Mars energy reflects a strong will in the search for independence, at ALL costs, without any sensitivity for others. His assertive actions are against all attempts of cooperation. Partnerships may suffer a power struggle for domination, and subjugation.

Mars is now so strong and close to Earth that his energy is incendiary. Difficult to contain raging fires exacerbate the violence against Mother Earth. Please be careful and conscious of your actions.

On their Capricorn side, the triple conjunction pushes for strong repressive measures, that block and controls any intention of soothing the situation with commitment, alliances, equanimity or fairness (Juno). The Establishment, the Old Patriarchal Paradigm grasps as much power and resources as possible in great detriment of the Earth ability to recover and regenerate (Haumea). Mars is energy and Jupiter intensifies it. They create a great surge of energy that you probably already have been feeling, increase strength, powerful initiative, impulsive actions bigger than life. Ruthless assertion in all your activities. An internal fire difficult to contain, so use moderation and self-control in order to use this excess of energy.

Be careful with heavy machinery, cutting tools, bladed weapons or knives. Also careful exercising too much too forcefully, because you may injure yourself. For people who are normally very passive, this surge of energy can be productive because it motivates them to work harder and longer. Depending on where it falls in your chart, your body may generate excessive heat, or fevers, flare ups of muscle aches.

You feel courageous in certain area of your life. If you’re faced with animosity, arguments, or enemies, you may become aggressive, and even resource to violence. Be careful also, and adopt a defensive attitude instead to avoid accidents and fights.

Now, the energy is amped up a notch or two. Mars is the personal will power and Pluto is the creative/destructive power of the Universe. The aggressive Mars conjunct Eris, the Goddess of Discord, is manipulated, coerced, forcibly pushed to action by Pluto's powerful influence. At this time, the anger only sees black and white, all or nothing, life and death. People can easily get entangled into power struggles, be either a subject to domination, fall victims of institutional control, and authoritarian powers, or be the perpetrators of relentless violence or heinous crimes. There is no middle way possible with Pluto. Politics can become really nasty, and even extremely polarized, because Pluto operates on extremes. 

Pluto is also associated with abuse of power, in Capricorn, coming from government. In the mundane context, there could be terrorist attacks, violent crimes, or forceful use of military powers to repress people. Mars is aggression, and Pluto, the power to subdue it. Pluto archetype is also associated with atomic power, radioactive substances, radiation, and chemicals capable of powerful reactions. Let's hope that all atomic energy generators in the world are under proper supervision, and in good working order.

In your personal life, be aware of this incendiary force inside yourself in order to put it to constructive and productive activities, like working with heavy machinery, power tools, making transformative remodeling work, building new with old material, or using compost to enrich your garden. If you’re out and about, and not abiding by what is expected, by rules and regulations, or protesting to defend your right to exist and your independence, you may have an encounter with authority figures that will not be benevolent.

These two planets couldn't be more different. If Mars is impulsive energy, Saturn is passive and steady. If Mars is aggression, Saturn is resistance. If Mars is the initiator, Saturn maintains the status quo and the traditional ways of doing things. If Mars is desire, Saturn is restriction and delays in obtaining what is desired. If Mars is independent and spontaneous, Saturn is circumscription, circumspection, calculation and strategy. Mars gets easily angry and lets the fumes out, but Saturn gets depressed and hold grudges. Mars is energy, Saturn is inertia.

After the previous turmoil, now, come the restrictions. You have a hard time using the surging energy of Mars, your initiative is thwarted, your desires stifled. An authority figure, the societal structures, a political institution, your boss or your father will impose order, control and suppress your action. Your energy can be pent up in frustration. All activities have to wait for more favorable times, patience is required. But with the stimulus of Mars in Aries blocked by the intensity of Saturn stationary (Sep 29), it may mean that you’re boiling inside.

Once again, may I suggest the spiritual practices, meditation and probably a strong fitness program where you can spend all that energy in strenuous physical exercise, if at all possible. However, be careful exercising as well, because this kind of energy may result in bone fractures. You definitely will face delays in obtaining what you desire.

In the mundane context, this may mean that government structures, institutions, and authorities compel to order, repress uprisings, contain rebellious protests, arrest aggressive people. Any use of violence may be matched with extreme repression.

What does it all mean in the end?

Overall, Mars in Aries reclaims the autonomy of existence, a new birth, the right to be, and the spirit of independence. Mars in Aries is the fight against the domination and the power of Capricornian forces of society to subjugate, be it political, institutional, economic or government authorities.

During the last couple of years, with the Nodal Axis in Cancer and Capricorn, humanity has tried to re-balance the yin and yang energies. Women have been reclaiming their equal participation in the building of societal structures, institutional structures and in the decision making. The process was the checks and balances of a reality run only by the male archetype. The yin energy has reemerged reclaiming the lost emotional security (Cancer, home) as opposed to the material security (Capricorn, outside world).
However, some people are still attached with iron grip to the old ways of a yang predominant system, not able to recognize its natural decay. The next six months will make us realize that we have reached the point of no return. Never again will humanity go back to the old world order, because it has decomposed, rotten away and has given birth to a New Era. Humanity is now entering the Aquarian Age.

What does it mean for your Rising Sign?

Generally speaking, Mars square those three planets in Capricorn will be felt as challenging. However, you have to consider those planets' relationships in your birth chart to know exactly how the aspect will show up for you. Even though, it could be nice for you to have a hint about this influence, the following are not 'cookie cutter' predictions, but they are just some possibilities of the way it could manifest. There may be a lot of activity at home, repair work, or the need to move houses, and you will be the one managing and controlling all the developments, and taking the responsibility for your family and your partner. Conversely, you may be overwhelmed by the stress your family gives you, and try to control the home life in order to fulfill your career responsibilities. Whatever the developments are, your family life, your career and your partner will be affected.

Taurus ♉️
Your subconscious mind is fighting in your dreams against your old belief paradigm. Your old vision of the world has crumbled down and during your time of relaxation, you're trying to make sense of your internal battles. You may actively pursue spiritual practices or charitable work that contradicts the official belief system, and what the consensus spiritual teachers have taught you. Your battles take place in the most secret place of your being.

Conflicts in your daily life style, at your workplace, your employees (if any), and even your pets may be the 'warriors' that will challenge your mind processes, or your traditional ideas or way of thinking at this time. If you fight with your subordinates or with service personnel, you may have a mental breakdown. So, moderate your impulses. However, the transformation of your mindset, may help you initiate and work hard at eliminating open enemies, be it people or health related self sabotaging habits.

Mars is actively revolutionizing your belief system. You are convinced that you got the truth and are ready to fight to defend your vision of the world. You feel the impulse to run free now, but you're up against your open enemies, be it people who work for you, a work system or workplace that is being phased-out because it's a thing of the past. But also, what you have learned now is certainly contrary to your long standing stubborn health habits and the ways you take care of your body. You will be up against any daily habit or schedule you have that are dysfunctional and outdated. These habits too have to go. 

Aquarius ♒️
Mars will loosen your tongue. You'll be more confident conveying what you have to say. Your communications will be assertive, decisive, cutting with your truth. Your mind is fighting your longtime held karmic baggage. As you close up a 29 year cycle with Jupiter, Pluto and Saturn in your 12th house, you're getting ready to start anew, and your mind may be kicking and screaming about saying those goodbyes. The most important message Chiron in Aries brings in March is a lesson about human vulnerability in this third dimension of physicality (Saturn), and human lack of control over life. As incarnated beings in the flesh, we took the cross of limitation. We are not spirits freely roaming around anywhere, we are attached to matter and endure its rules (Saturn). Saturn glyph ♄, is the soul (curved leg) bending over under the weight of the 'cross'. It's not surprising that the physical life brings pain, illness, decay, and death. Saturn was anciently associated with the Grim Reaper as well. However, suffering, since it is our response to the pain, is a choice. 

Chiron square December Solar Eclipse

The first week of March, Chiron in Aries squares the December 25-26, 2019 Solar Eclipse at 4º 6' Capricorn. 

As I wrote in February, 4º Capricorn is also the degree of the previous Saturn Pluto conjunction January 4, 1518. Among other important events, that year Hernan Cortes headed to Mexico, where he so easily conquered a whole civilization of more than 30 million people, in just a few months! How? Two important allies: making alliance with Aztecs' enemies, and unknowingly bringing with them smallpox. To ensure victory, he burned the expedition ships! There was no return, it was a “win or die” determination.

Just that event opened the portal to the conquest of a whole New Continent, redistributing the powers of the time, and reconfiguring the geopolitical map of the whole World. Of course, the evolution was not done overnight, but in a really Capricornian (Saturnian) way, with ambition, persistence, patience (overtime), and much cruel bloodshed.

At the cosmological level, Nicolau Copernicus, opened Humanity's vision into the cosmos, telling us that the Earth was not the center of the Universe, but the Sun. Then, the process of accepting our cosmic abandonment (Chiron wound) started. Are we not the most important piece in the puzzle? Are we are just a speck in there, almost invisible?

The December Solar Eclipse opened a portal over that long gone past to see through the long way we've walked until our present time. 500 years later, January 12, 2020, Saturn Pluto historical conjunction in Capricorn, not only has threaten a global war, but brought a global illness that threatens our very human existence, but has also the potential to redistribute power. Covid19 impacts the elderly population at a higher percentage, and it's sparing the children and youth who are not much affected by it. The Sign of Capricorn, Saturn and Pluto are associated with the time (Chronos) old age, and the karmic past. 

As a New Era dawns, Humanity has to leave behind (Capricorn South Node of the Moon) its old systems, socio-political structures, traditional institutions and obsolete conditionings and conventions. Because Pluto is associated with transmutation and regeneration, its energy may very well play a role in the reincarnation of very old and experienced souls that are being born since 2008 when this planet entered Capricorn.  Having lived through the Ages, they bring with them the karmic accumulation of wisdom issued of their learned lessons. Look closer at these young children, they are teaching the adults!

Squaring the Solar Eclipse point, Chiron is in the company of Black Moon Lilith in Aries, the shadow yin (feminine) energy inside of us.

In her book, The Astrology of the Black Moon, A Guide to Healing the Shadow Side, Laura Walker states that this conjunction
"Often poses a lifetime of painful experiences. This aspect almost demands that we sacrifice ourselves for others, leading us to walk through life with a deep wound that restricts our personal growth." Death thoughts invade our psyche, awakening "the desire for release from worldly problems." 

She continues "we feel as if we have been wounded to the core. These are some of the most difficult transits. Deep sadness and depression are reported. [...] transits involving the Black Moon intensify feelings of pain that lead to not wanting to continue with life. Self-imposed sacrifices are made or activities are eliminated from outside forces. These transits, however, are designed to heal a wound (often from early childhood) and heal the primary fear. Circumstances come into place to push us to come to terms with our shadow side." 

Furthermore, she associates Lilith in Aries with the shadow of success. "The Black Moon in Aries manifests in the intense quest to be valued and feel worthy." 

As a collective, all the wounds we have inflicted upon ourselves, our human darkest crimes against our spiritual identity are in our face now. The challenge is to heal and Chiron in Aries is the key.

At a personal level, the events develop quickly with a cardinal square, which implies radical changes that will affect your future, your emotional security, comfort, thriving, and survival. My February's Chiron article addresses extensively the personal themes of Lilith and Chiron present conjunction.

Mars in Capricorn, ruler of Chiron in Aries

Mars in Capricorn is the most important actor during March, at least.  Mars will most probably instigate and stir up with impulse if not violence the forces that were awaken with the events that took place between the last two eclipses (threat of war, new illness, refugee crisis, etc). Mars is traditionally considered a 'malefic' influence bringing fevers, pests, heat, anger, and violence. Mars' proximity to Jupiter (traditional ruler of Pisces) increases his influence. Mars association with Chiron, as dispositor, represents well the present wounding effect of the Covid19.

Next New Moon March 23 meets Chiron in Aries and squares the Nodes of the Moon, making Humanity's wound sore. Chiron pokes emotions with his feelings of vulnerability and inadequacy, so we'll need to pamper ourselves a bit to feel better. The Moon in Aries adds a dose of assertiveness to your mood, you get things going, have the energy to get things done and determination to make decisions. 

Chiron square the Cancer Capricorn Nodal Axis

Humanity, as a species, is at a crossroads. During this period, we understand how past actions (karma) weighs on our fragility. We are learning from the past mistakes and facing the challenge of our survival understanding the vulnerability of our inherent identity. The psychic shadows are now in the open for us to reckon with, and we look for refuge and protection for our human condition.

Chiron square the Cancer Capricorn Nodal Axis calls out for examination of and reflection on the past actions, social conventions, traditions, socio political structures, conditionings, established systems of operation, institutional organizations (Capricorn). The review shows that they have thwarted the purpose of our life. Looking for power, prestige, domination, material possessions, and social status (Capricorn) has made us cold, alienated and cruel, deeply wounding our emotional nature (Cancer), that requires affection, nurturance, comfort, protection, safety, and the tender life support that only family and human contact can provide. 

The experiences that we perceive as negative, and sometimes catastrophic, are wake up calls and shakers that attempt to move us into balance and harmony with the Source of Life.

The January 12, 2020 Great Conjunction - Part II

World Chart of the New Era

Mine is an attempt to read the Great Conjunction chart as the Birth of a New Era for the World. The series starts HERE. I will explain the meaning of each Zodiac House using some of the methods I use to read any Birth Chart. This way the reader will also have a sense of how I work. I start here a series of posts revealing the meanings through the houses rulership. 

First House ruler, Mars, in the 9th house 

The First House ruler, Mars, in the 9th house indicates that people’s identity and personality will be closely related to their strong belief systems. Looking for meaning in life, people will seek higher knowledge, either connecting with some kind of Higher Power, or develop their spirituality to receive some kind of guide from the spirit realm, in an attempt to make sense of the global picture. People will need to develop the higher mind, acquire broader knowledge in order to develop the ability to grasp how the world functions in reality. The free information era gives people pieces of information, but in order to make sense of it and assemble the puzzle, it is imperative to understand the historical cycles, and the broader context. 

People will be inclined to identity tightly with ideological, theoretical, humanitarian, spiritual, philosophical or religious  beliefs systems that allow them to organize the information in a cosmological way. Some may inspire or preach it to others. Others might become dogmatic, rigid, intransigent, intolerant, because the ruler of Sagittarius, Jupiter, is in Capricorn, the sign of organized systems, and systematic organizations of power. Most probably people will identify themselves with principles of justice, ethics, morality, applicable to all with equanimity. 

To achieve that, there will be a need to expand the mind. A better ability to transport ourselves to other places and the massive migrations of people will facilitate interaction with other cultures and the broadening of perspectives. This placement reflects the possibility of being present at the same time in faraway places where people have never been before, either physically of virtually. It will be easier to cross frontiers, travel, move to other countries and live another culture or in another planet. Intercultural relationships of all kinds will increase. Not only will people travel the Earth, but we may well have the desire to explore farther places in the Universe, personally, in our bodies, or virtually through new futuristic technologies.

All that expansion of the mind, belief and intercultural contacts will help us break from traditional ancestral outmoded belief systems by acquiring a wider more encompassing perspective or our human condition. New astronomical knowledge may completely refute and discredit present organized religions. And yes, we may miss the small details. 

There will be a close relationship of the 1^st house of human identity with the 8^th house of transformations because Mars is also the traditional ruler of Scorpio. This means that the mind expansion may entail human psychological crisis, especially for those that are deeply invested in old belief systems that cannot be sustained, given the new evidence. At the same time, new generations may come with stronger psychic abilities, capable of mental powers not widely known, understood, or accepted now. The amount of information is already impossible to grasp, which represents a huge psychological challenge to try to make sense of it all. People may suffer mental crises or disorders due to the lack of emotional security due to a new sense of floating in such a huge space.

 After five months of 'wound examination' in retrograde mode, Chiron in Aries has turned direct December 13. Having Chiron in the First Zodiac house is anything but fun, in fact it reflects the deep suffering of our existence, the painful feelings of inadequacy for being just who we are in a fast changing environment. It entails all kinds of difficulties to be able to adjust to new ways of being, behaving, initiating action, and showing up in the world. Chiron on the Ascendant is like bumping your head on the concrete right out of the womb. I refer you to my articles about Chiron in Aries in this blog. Especially significant will be the fact that Chiron is in this chart in the relationships axis, for which I recommend your reading the 'Venus opposite Chiron' section in this article.

Second House ruler, Venus, in the 11th

Venus ruler of the Second House is in the 11th house in mutual reception with Uranus in Taurus, a Venus ruled sign. Possessions will mainly be technological, they will have vibrational and electrical properties. People will change them constantly, so probably the very concept of ownership will change, maybe people just rent them for a time, and then exchange them for new ones. Possessions will most probably be shared. For example, vehicles may become collective, aerial, and shared with friends, or with like-minded groups. 

The concept and physicality of the body will evolve affected by the shocks and vibrational influence of Uranian energy. The food people eat will be massively produced using technology and science, for example, applying electricity, sound, and light to grow vegetables. The way people will obtain their food supply will also use a constantly advancing technology, that will most probably minimize or eliminate the human handling of it. For example, one orders ready-packed food supply for a day delivered by a drone. Or, better yet, people may end up eating together in groups, in the common restaurant/ dining place of the small community where people live, sharing kitchen appliances, supplies, and furniture. 

The Second house is also the personal sexuality, and how people value their own energy. People around the world has probably realized by now, the start of a sexual revolution, where more people come out saying that they don't follow the conventional sexual distinction of male and female. Generally speaking, there has been a more accepting tendency of the sexual variations in the last few decades. Maybe, the human body is on its way to become more androgynous (Uranus).  Let's remember that Uranian vibrational impact of new technologies on the body (Uranus in Taurus) and Plutonic atomic influence (Pluto in the 10th house Capricorn of social reputation and public lifestyle structures) are both capable of changing the human DNA affecting unforeseeable physical changes. 

The body will also be a field of scientific and technological experimentation. People already hear of big Corporations that require their employees to have chips and devices implanted to be used as door openers, for banking transactions and other things.

Medicine is already using the implant of chips in the brain. "Zuckerberg hasn’t revealed many details yet, but he has said that he envisions a platform that ‘lets you communicate using only your mind’.” says the Forbes article. Venus, the second house ruler, is in Aquarius (networks), also traditionally ruled by Saturn in Capricorn (systems), so it wouldn't be a surprise that in the future, even the new form of governance will impose the technological implants in all people. This will allow the leadership to have a tighter infallible surveillance on personal lives, including all activities, like body function, eating, excreting, health fluctuations, speaking, and sexual activity.

Values are already unexpectedly changing, becoming eccentric, unconventional, against the consensus. Desires become more dispassionate, objective, measured, separative, detached. Love relationships and socialization will respect people’s individuality and freedom, and may be cold and non-committal. Uranus is also revolutionizing the banking and monetary system as well, which will have ups and downs constantly until a new currency system rebalances itself. In that area, expect the unexpected, because it's totally unpredictable.

Venus also rules Libra, the 7^th house. I will write more specifically about that house later, but it is obvious that what is explained above will radically modified the way we relate to other people.
