Jupiter and Neptune

This last week of August, Venus indulges herself as she opposes Jupiter and trine Neptune. 

Desires are expanded without limits, and overindulgence in love, expenses, or social life may backfire. 

You feel that no pleasure is enough; you may ‘drown’ in food, drink, sex, beauty, music, art, anything that makes you relax, and even provides an escape. You may even ditch work, spiritual practice, and morality for a moment’s enjoyment, that will not really satisfy you in the end. 

Be careful spending more than you can afford because you may regret it later. Usually, what may happen is that another person encourages you to go overboard, so it’s important to exercise self-control and moderation if you want to come out of this one ‘uninjured’.

As August draws to a close, Venus is entering a very compromised position in the zodiac. She enters into a Grand Cardinal Square configuration. 

Pluto

Not only does Venus opposes Pluto, but they do it EXACTLY at 22º ♑️46’, the exact degree and minute of the Saturn Pluto conjunction of January 12, 2020. Simply put, Venus and Pluto reactivate the issues that trigger the catastrophic developments of 2020.

Venus in Cancer is ruled by the Moon in Aquarius. This means that the values to hold are the people’s interest in the safety, protection, and security of families. Venus also represents resources, supplies, money, that we need and desire to sustain life (Taurus). She is also the love, self-esteem, and attraction we need to establish and maintain relationships (Libra), personal and social.

Changes issued of powerful forces of transmutation in society, government, institutions, and from those who own the world resources, operate a profound demolition and restructure of the social paradigm. Let’s not forget that Uranus in Taurus (ruled by Venus) is changing values regarding Nature, ecology, the environment, resources, food supply at the same time that changes personal and relationship values.

In opposition to Pluto, Venus is subject to power struggles from the powers that be, from another powerful person, entity or establishment that forces a profound transformation.

This may mean that food supply chains are disrupted due to the structural dismantling. It could mean that natural or human made atomic, radiation, chemical pollution damages the resources we need to survive.
In our present context, it could mean that the virus, since it was, after all, THE main issue related to the Saturn Pluto Conjunction of January 12, 2020, threatens to contaminate people massively, affecting the very fabric of society (Moon in Aquarius).

It could also represent a threat to the real estate value or the ability of the common folks to have a roof over their head.

They will certainly trigger financial upheavals related to taxes, insurance, stock market, and to the money available to the common people.

At a personal level, couples may suffer sexual difficulties, due to manipulation, jealousy, overpowering, submission by force, and violence.

There could be a tendency to trying to change others by relentless force, lack of kindness and consideration for their desires.

This square is the crisis in action point, where action is unavoidable. Certain situation or event requires you to do something related to your desires, finances, resources, love, values.

The opposition to Saturn, indicates restructuring of finances, probable limited access to money, frustration in social life because of isolation, profound depression, delays in business, trade, work, economy. Time to tighten the belt. Resources may be scarce.

In relationships, you may feel unlovable, or unloved, rejected. You may experience separation from the object of your love or have a hard time satisfying your desires. Oppositions in general, are notices when other people, another person, or outside circumstances are against you. Someone may not give you what you want, or may ask you to fulfill your responsibility before giving you what you want. You may have low confidence in relationships and in social life, and feel isolated, lonely.

Juno & Haumea in Libra

Haumea is a newly discovered (Dec. 2004) dwarf planet in the farthest side of the Solar System after Neptune. About the size of Pluto, it's not less significant. It was name out of Haumea is the Hawaiian goddess of fertility and childbirth.

“She gave birth to many children, and to all the island chiefs. She is a great creation Goddess and the ancestor of all indigenous Hawaiians who are descendants of the ancient civilization of Mu. Haumea is a crone archetype and is the elder in a trinity of Hawaiian Goddesses that includes Hina and Pele. Haumea had the power to change her form as her nature was constantly renewing; although she grew old, she was continually transformed into a young woman, representing the cycles of women’s lives.

Each of her children emerged from a different part of her body, symbolizing a profoundly nourishing source of life. Haumea also acts as a divine midwife to human mothers and taught women the mysteries of childbirth. Author Martha Beckworth, whose collection resides in a Hawaiian museum, suggests that the name Haumea actually comes from Hanaumea, which means ‘sacred birth’.

Haumea is thought to inhabit the Makalei tree, a Tree of Life on the island of Oahu, whose mystical branches and deep roots yield infinite amounts of food. Like a Cornucopia, the tree symbolically provides many staples to the Hawaiian people, such as coconut, bamboo, taro root, breadfruit and sugar cane. When the Goddess shakes a sacred branch of the miraculous Makalei tree over water, she attracts abundant fish.”

Venus square Haumea and the asteroid Juno indicate that the nature of our unbridled desires, our dealing with and wasting of the Earth resources are not respecting the capacity of Nature to regenerate, and perpetuate life on Earth. Our extreme consumerist attitude does not even consider the human ability to survive.

The Mars opposition to Juno and Haumea in Libra relates to conflicts in relationships, especially love relationships, but also conflict is social life, meaning relationships of any kind. The energy of Mars is lack of kindness, even gruesome aggressiveness, inconsideration, selfishness. May also indicate financial problems (Libra). In addition, it relates to lack of consideration and reverence for Nature, childbirth, the fertility and the bounty of the Earth, aggressive attitude against any kind of fairness, justice, logic, and measure in the use of Mother Earth’s resources.

Juno, Jupiter's Wife

Mars energy reflects a strong will in the search for independence, at ALL costs, without any sensitivity for others. His assertive actions are against all attempts of cooperation. Partnerships may suffer a power struggle for domination, and subjugation.

Mars is now so strong and close to Earth that his energy is incendiary. Difficult to contain raging fires exacerbate the violence against Mother Earth. Please be careful and conscious of your actions.

On their Capricorn side, the triple conjunction pushes for strong repressive measures, that block and controls any intention of soothing the situation with commitment, alliances, equanimity or fairness (Juno). The Establishment, the Old Patriarchal Paradigm grasps as much power and resources as possible in great detriment of the Earth ability to recover and regenerate (Haumea). Aquarius New Moon - January 24, 2020

Aquarius and Uranus

At this New Moon, the Sun and Moon will be together at 4º ♒️22',  exactly at the degree of the longest Aquarius Lunar Eclipse on July 27, 2018. People born with the Sun or any other planet in the first decan of Aquarius, will be impacted more strongly.  Since the planets and cosmic bodies work in cycles, and as this New Moon closes another cycle at the same degree, it activates it once more. You will certainly remember something special that you experienced around the time of that Lunar Eclipse. Something related or around the same theme may happen for you to make one step higher in your soul's evolution.

The Moon squares Uranus earlier in the day (12:34 pm), and sextiles Chiron at the same time. The unexpected emotions carry a healing power that makes you feel confident about who you are.
But once the Moon meets the Sun, they both square Uranus, Aquarius ruler. Even though Mercury is not conjunct, it's close by, which adds more electrical energy to the chart.

The chart's dominant element is Air, even though the other elements are also present.  This makes for a lot of intellectual activity, flow and exchange of ideas, sudden flashes of understanding or insight, and a lot of communication. The Aquarian energy promotes rebellion, radical changes, eccentricity, erratic movement (windy weather for example), disruption in communications and media, unorthodox ideas, excitement, stimulation, irritability, and possible distraction. Look at the houses where Aquarius and Taurus are to find out the area affected in your personal life.

In the World, there may be more earthquakes, people protesting asking for liberation from the material and financial restrictions, and freedom of movement. More people are needing to migrate because of violence, famine, or war. While Saturn and Pluto on their respective planetary South Nodes hang on to the past, build walls and close frontiers; Eris in Aries, and the Aquarius New Moon fight for liberation from limiting and obtuse traditions.

The Chart lacks Water energy, which can make you overcompensate by making artificial efforts to give an emotional response to your environment, look for excitement in intense dramatic news, or prove sensitivity by showing excessive concern about the circumstances.

On the other hand, there is also a lot of Earth energy, which makes you practical, realistic, to the point, organized, and maybe too much materialistic. You may feel the need to be methodical, follow a plan, make a schedule, clean the house, and provide security for your family.

The 'Benefics'

Mercury makes the waning semi-sextile to Venus. As he enters the balsamic stage, they're about to finish their cycle started at the end of October in Scorpio. It has been a cycle of learning more, find out the deeper truth about love and money. With the Scorpio inprint, love has been a psychological research of oneself and of the other. Do we have now a better understanding about how we function, our power dynamics in relationships, romantic or not? What truth did you discover about your money and your personal values or your self worth?  This is the time to come to the conclusions that you will communicate with your significant other or your business partner once Mercury meets Venus again on May 22, 2020.

Venus makes her waxing sextile to Jupiter, which makes you feel attractive, optimistic, lucky, popular, generous, sensual, and very much sociable. You want to party, meet and chat with people, make love. You have great satisfaction sharing your appreciation, affection, making new friends. Love expands your heart! You may be attracted to a foreigner, to other cultures... maybe thinking of a vacation in an exotic place or buy your plane tickets!

The Bad Guy

Now, this is the discordant note. Mars is just 36' away from a square to Venus Neptune midpoint! No good, no good! On the Pisces side, you may be building romantic castles in the air. You may have escaped to the ninth cloud in a wine-cup carriage, or in your way to Love Nirvana with your Metta meditation. So the warrior takes advantage!

This is the soup that makes secret attacks possible. Shootings, secret enemies, obscure sexual secret affairs and such appeared in the news on February 17, 2018 when Mars in Sagittarius and Neptune in Pisces squared at 13º.  On August 26, 2016 when they squared at 10º, the news talked about a ship attacked in the ocean, earthquakes, a religious extremists' martyrdom, car bombings, politicians harshly attacking each other, a strike ended up in murder, people attacked while sleeping, and false incriminations.

Mars will exactly square Neptune on Sunday which we can soundly predict it as 'explosive'. A gas tank may blow up, pirates may attack a ship in the ocean, someone may be killed by a sniper.  Neptune is associated with sleep, islands in the ocean, navigation, gas, any liquid, addiction to liquid substances, vacations in far away countries, retreats, hospitals, hospice, secret enemies, all kinds of germs (virus, bacteria, but especially fungi), poisons, refugees, prisons, charity, churches, secluded spaces, bedrooms and bed pleasures. Any of those may be under attack or become aggressive.

At home, make sure you check your boiler, gas furnace, gas stove, and check for possible hot water leaks. If you fear illness, remember to buy masks to protect yourself from the coronavirus.

Another consideration is that, on Sunday, Mars is at 17º where Jupiter was September 21, 2019 squaring Neptune. Try to remember the theme that Jupiter Neptune square represented in your life when they were dancing in conflict  back and forth during 2019 (at 14, 17 and 18 degrees), because Mars may revive it. The delusion we experienced all 2019 may be the subjacent aggressive force that triggers the event on Sunday with Mars Neptune square. Do you have a secret enemy of any kind?

Mars and Neptune can be beneficial for us as well, depending on your personal level of vibration. The square may present the necessary challenge to roll up your sleeves and work for your dreams, your ideals, or develop your spiritual connection with a Supreme Being. With Neptune and Venus in Pisces you are inspired to create, to love unconditionally. You have the potential to elevate your spirituality, to improve your spiritual perception, to awaken your intuition. You may find the perfect kind of spiritual practice for you.

Conclusion

This is certainly a New Moon of sudden changes. After the heavy restraint we endured with Saturn and Co. in Capricorn, this New Moon brings a breeze of fresh air. We may recover the optimism, and the vision for a better future. Dare to break the chains of anything that holds you back from being who you want to be, and reaching your dreams. Don't lose your anchor though, keep the good things you've built in your life, use them as your foundation to launch your new life. Create, innovate, inspire, build, but just be yourself!

January 12, 2020 Great Conjunction - Part VI

The 10th House

Mine is an attempt to read the Great Conjunction chart as the Birth of a New Era for the World. The series starts HERE. I will explain the meaning of each Zodiac House using some of the methods I use to read any Birth Chart. This way the reader will also have a sense of how I work. I start here a series of posts revealing the meanings through the houses rulership.

Saturn and Pluto

Following the rulership of every cosmic body in the chart, they all come back to Saturn rulership. The theme is Saturn! He is the Lord of this Chart, the Lord of Karma and Time (Chronos), societal conventions and structures, and its political institutions that ensure people's security through civilization. 

Saturn is the natural ruler of the 10th house, and is the host of the other five planets. Saturn likes to keep things as they are, always dwelling in the past. Remember that he ate his children because he didn’t want anything to change. Especially, he wanted to avoid being overthrown by them. In, Capricorn, his own house, Saturn loves his own structures and walls.

But, Pluto, one of his children and enemy, came to show Saturn the crumbling chambers of his ancient house. Pluto brings to the surface the decadence, the rot, the decomposing pieces that don’t work anymore in society, and political structures, and need replacement. 

The cycle Saturn Pluto revolves around destruction and reconstruction, dissolution and redistribution of power, and the rise and fall of divisions, walls and empires. Because without them, without leaving behind what doesn’t serve us any longer, human evolution and progress cannot take place.

During the balsamic phase, in 2018-2019, we witnessed the decomposition proper of the end of an era. We witnessed the corruption, malfunction, deficiencies and unsustainability of the global economic establishment. Since Capricorn rules public material security, it is important to realize that the hunger for power is always motivated by economic reasons. Countries and other entities of power seek resources to maintain themselves, and the need for expansion arises when the resources are scarce or only available in other places; then they have to fight to gain access to them. 

In that regard, this New Era is not different from previous ones. Today's economy is so competitive because there are many power players, and each one is looking after their own interests. Resources like energy sources, water, agricultural land and food are at stake in the modern world. But with the technology boom of the last few decades, the hidden riches of the earth (Pluto), like minerals, metals, and chemicals are most coveted. This Chart shows that those who are in possession of the resources are the ones dominating the rest. They will risk war if necessary to appropriate the coveted resources. 

How can the common people help to deescalate those economic wars? We need to change the materialist consumerism mentality. If people don't buy useless and unnecessary commodities, the markets will not strive to keep up. Then Humanity can evolve towards a world of being instead of having. 

The Sun and Mercury

The blueprint of the January 12, 2020 chart, with the Sun, Saturn, Pluto and Mercury in Capricorn, however, doesn’t seem to show but the strengthening of the dominant powers. Even though, the power may be redistributed, it will continue to be concentrated in the hands of a very centralized oligarchic elite, possible a unipersonal authoritarian head of state. Most probably, a powerful (Pluto) centralized entity (Sun) with a regulated structure (Saturn), that also monopolizes communication, planification, agreements, business markets, work and services (all Mercury matters) will manage and administrate the Earth resources and wealth (Pluto).

Communication, publicity and propaganda (associated with Mercury) is already used to manipulate the masses towards consumerism. People will need to develop a higher level of discrimination and critical thinking to sort out what is true and what is just fabricated information with a marketing agenda. 

Ceres

The Asteroid Ceres is part of the conjunction at 22º. Ceres is the Roman equivalent of Demeter, daughter of Chronos (Saturn), Greek Goddess of agriculture.  "Ceres is the goddess of the harvest and presides over grains (cereals) and the fertility of the earth. Although she was most often referred to as the goddess of the harvest, she was also goddess of sacred law and the cycle of life and death, because she nourishes life" (wikipedia).

Her virgin daughter Persephone was abducted by the god of the underworld riches, Hades (Pluto). In grief, Ceres endlessly searched for her daughter.  Because of her loss, the seasons halted and living things stopped growing and died. At this point, Jupiter, intervened and sent his messenger Mercury, to the underworld to bring Persephone back and prevent the extinction of all life on Earth. Hades agreed to Persephone’s relief but she was bound to him for one third of the year.

Capricorn offers a barren soil for Ceres, Mother Earth, to nurture her children. Ceres conjunction with Pluto reflects in our consciousness the Earth trauma of being deprived of its fertility and abundance due to human irreverence, misuse, and pollution. The dryness, coldness, sterility and impassible materiality of methods imposed by Saturn withers the agriculture’s ability to fructify and nurture.  Ceres in Capricorn confuses nurturance with acquisition of goods, and mothering with achieving goals and taking responsibility. By believing ourselves to be the masters and owners of Nature, Human beings invented the concept of property and have defiled and plunder Mother Earth almost irreversibly.  Many are still blind to the Earth transmutation that is taking place at this time. However, she makes us well aware of the destructive consequences of the industrial revolution pushed to the extreme of 'raping' the Earth to extract her substance. We need to realize the need to transform our relationship with our planet, and create a sustainable economic system. Ceres demands protection, care, support and proper nourishment in order to survive.

Jupiter

Even though Jupiter (9º♑️20’) is far from the exact multiple conjunction, he contributes his expanding energy to the Sign of Capricorn. Being just a few minutes away from his conjunction with his own planetary South Node (9º♑️37’), though, denotes a process of releasing past and obsolete religious, cultural, ideological, and legal historical ideas and beliefs. It could nonetheless, exacerbate the clinging to traditional forms of dominance using dogma, fanaticism, extreme ideologies, cultural discrimination or harsh injustice. Let’s not forget that Jupiter is still in orb to the square to Chiron. It looks that the extreme use and imposition of a uniform ideology, be it political, religious, cultural, or other,  presents a serious threat to people’s right to exist, to their identities, and to the cultural and ethnic diversity which has ensured so far the survival of our species through adaptation to each geographic location. 

Chiron in Aries has the perception that his right to occupy a space, a time, or a body of existence and act upon it is threatened or hindered somehow. All 2019, the world has heard protest in different regions and countries, of people reclaiming their own right to be, to survive. Their voices claim as well the right to think for themselves. For example, young people in Taiwan are not seduced by the old ideology of the mainland. They think that they know what they want and are willing to die for it.

Chiron's wound manifests also through the massive displacements and migrations of entire identity groups (Jupiter), that just for being who they are, are suffering rejection, abandonment and persecution. Examples of xenophobia for this reason abound anywhere one turns in the world. However, Rumi's saying goes: 'The wound is the place where the light enters you'. Hopefully, the pain awakens us to build a better tomorrow. 

Chiron, the Wounded Healer

Jupiter has an applying septile to Venus that can prove to be stressful due to important changes in the value system, read also ‘financial system’. Venus in Aquarius on the anaretic degree, in turn has an applying sextile to Uranus in Taurus, her own zodiac home. This provides an opportunity to adopt innovative values, develop technological resources, to serve the Jupiterian influence on the overall beliefs that may be imposed to people by the centralized power. Venus in Aquarius is about to complete her job of attracting scientific discoveries, networking in the development of cutting-edge revolutionary technologies, shaking the stock market, and setting goals for the adoption of future values. 

The Capricorn conjunction squares Eris

Saturn, Pluto, the Sun, Mercury and Ceres square the dwarf planet Eris. With a Golden Apple offered to the fairest, Eris triggered the discord among the most beautiful Greek women and their suitors, which provoked the Trojan War.  It was a conflict of passions, vanity, self-glorification, and unbridled desire for power.

Eris in Aries, the rebellious Goddess in the home of the impetuous warrior, her own brother, turned direct just one day before, and is now exactly square the Capricorn stellium. Her rebellion has already been shown for a couple of years of protest in the streets of the world. What do the people want? They claim their right to exist. The tighter the powerful fist, the stronger the rebellion. 

Even though Saturn and the other planets are moving on, Pluto, the relentless pressure of political power, is digging his heels at 23º Capricorn, back and forth for one more year. When Mars takes his retrograde period (end August 2020 to January 2021) in Aries (square Pluto), we can be sure to see armed conflicts.

Finding Meaning

Yes, as Leonard Cohen signs "there is a crack in everything".  Apparently only when people goes through deep suffering, are they able to awake to the spiritual dimension of life. At this time, we are become aware of the need to have a different kind of social, economic, political system, with pure intentions and compassion towards life.  We should embrace the inexorable transmutation and regeneration that this historical astrological configuration is operating individually and collectively. Humanity is to evolve through the material experience in order to merge back to its Source, because 'we are a way for the cosmos to know itself" (Carl Sagan).
