The Chart of Saturn Pluto 

Conjunction in Capricorn

    If you follow my blog, you probably read that already in July 2019 I was forecasting that "Something we haven't seen in our lifetimes is gestating during 2019. The gestation culminates in January 2020 with a metamorphosis that will completely change the world we live in forever. There is nothing trivial about it. We are not able to elude, avoid, evade, or escape this 'atomic' force (Pluto) upon us. Everyone will be affected one way or another, depending on the place this conjunction falls in one's own chart, what natal planets it challenges (specifically with hard aspects). The effects of it are the experience of our human evolution as a collective entity."(1)

    And as expected, Saturn Pluto conjunction in Capricorn delivered! They started a new 700 period  of power plays (their next conjunction in Capricorn in 2754). The agents of society power and control are challenged, restructured, reorganized, redistributed at a massive level. The establishment is shaken to the core, and while certain power structures fall others rise. One empire collapses, another rises. 

    All around the world authoritarian regimes are popping up like mushrooms, be it from the right or the left, they have the common denominator of control over the masses. Also radical conservative principles want to force humanity progress backwards. Authorities have figured out that the best way to achieve their goals of gripping to power and control is to create a favorable environment for people to feel insecure, become increasingly ignorant, and fall victims of addictions. Of course, what better use of Neptune in Pisces. Moreover, the Jupiter Neptune boosts confusion, chaos, disillusionment, and insecurity. 

    I'd like to go back to the chart of January 12, 2020 at 18 UT, from the Greenwich UK location which is the 0º longitude meridian, representing the whole Earth and the entire Humanity. 

 

    The first thing that jumps out is the chart funnel configuration with its focus on the Moon in Leo. From the start, Leo and the funnel put the Moon center stage. And in Mundane astrology, the Moon represents the people, the public, and the general public opinion and disposition. People want to be seen, heard as protagonists, they want to rule and command. A Leo Moon is a Queen Moon.  This Moon, moving away from the Lunar Eclipse in Cancer that occured on January 10 (watch my video), carries its symbolic meaning with her, of the need for safety, nourishment, protection, and the need to defend the homeland. 

    Furthermore, this Moon is the apex of a Yod with Sun and Neptune in sextile at the base. If one wants a more exact aspect, consider Neptune exactly sextile the midpoint between Jupiter and Saturn/Pluto. 

This leaves an open door of opportunity for the authority figures (Sun) to become more compassionate, intuitive and creative when dealing with the demands of people (Moon in Leo). However, and unfortunately, there is also the possibility of authority figures using deception and all kinds of subterfuges to undermine the social stability. 

    In this Yod, the Moon makes 150 (Virgo energy) degrees angle from Neptune, which talks about emotional ambivalence. The ambiguity of this imbalance challenges clear communication. People yearn for approval of their demands believing that dreams can be achieved. However, the effect is entirely the opposite and people fall victim of their actions in that regard (i.e. Russian protesters imprisoned, Afghan women forced to wear the burqa, in US women losing the right to abortion). 

    The Moon makes also a 210 (Scorpio energy) degree angle from the Sun or more precisely, from the above mentioned midpoint. The scorpionic aspect is nothing trivial, it makes relationship between authorities (Sun) and the public (Moon), or the male and female archetypes, extremely tense, and highly intolerant. There is a need to take people's suffering into account. However, the authorities and powers that be are only focused on incrementing their power and control by all means, regardless of the consequences on the masses. 

    There is definitely an urgency to make adjustments between those holding the power and people's needs. The gap between them has reached dangerous levels of inequality and injustice, and people are now at the end of the rope.  Given that all energy forces in Nature tend to balance themselves, the heavier the pressure, the more tragic and possibly extreme, the reactions. 

    Additionally, the Moon, the gentle and nurturing feminine power is at the Rising angular placement and the Sun is setting way below the horizon, which symbolically speaks volumes.

    Mars in Sagittarius leads the funnel. which indicates increasing actions and possible aggression in the name of ideologies, religious or cultural beliefs at a global level.  

    The chart is highly Cardinal (7) Earth (8), which reflects the profound changes of Humanity's physical reality experienced since that date. Those changes are social, institutional, geopolitical, and continue manifesting themselves dramatically in Nature. From the magma to the water, on the Earth surface as well as in the atmosphere and underground, our planet Earth is ill and suffering. From those who detonate bombs to those who throw their trash to the water currents, I ask, haven't you ever considered how privileged you are to step on the surface of this jewel of a planet, unique in its nature among millions of other cosmic bodies? Unique! Unique in so many ways. I bow with reverence to this Earth, she is our Mother. 

    In addition, Ceres should be given its significance as part of the stellium with Saturn, Pluto, the Sun and Mercury. According with latest research by renowned Astrologer, Maurice Fernandez, Ceres has been prominent with the Sun and the Nodal Axis in significant political developments (2). Goddess of Agriculture and the Bounty and resilience of the Earth, she represents the need to take responsibility for the food production in order to avoid famine. She reminds us that the economy is at the very foundation of political evolution and even revolutions. In Capricorn, she is only comfortable once she achieves the goals through hard work. Her addition to the Capricorn party can lead to great efforts of encouragement to focus on organizing and controlling agriculture, even by manipulation of information and strict management (Pluto/Saturn) of resources. For this, there is plenty of evidence of how the belligerent authoritarianism has triggered a food crisis so severe that in some countries, people literally are dying of hunger.(3) Thus, this critical point calls for a reorganization and redistribution of economic resources. 

  

    The stellium square to Eris in Aries has to be recognized as the major challenge that the powers that be are and will face. She will not keep silent, nor will she be silenced. Representing those who are left out of the God's banquet, she creates havoc and chaos, she bravely takes people to the streets to protest and is there to undermine rules and order until she is heard. 

    If the intense Capricorn energy strengthens its dominance, it will not be without disputes and confrontations in the next twenty years to come. Struggles and conflicts can be expected for the next 32 years until Saturn and Pluto meet again in Pisces in 2054. Many of us will not be here to see it, but it's probably then when the system as we have known it until now will finally collapse for good. Pluto in Aquarius for 40 years will certainly contribute to the rebellions that will completely transform collective society like it did at the end of the eighteenth century (in sync with Uranus) through the revolutionary independentist movements. 

    Finally, an important factor is that the stellium is in the presence of the South Node of the Moon with all the eclipses of the season happening in the Cancer Capricorn axis. Not only that, but the quadruple conjunction meets the planetary South Nodes of Saturn and Pluto, tapping back onto their karmic past of political power and control excesses, to understand the danger of dwelling in them. The Nodes symbolize a subtle energy behind the scenes that is experienced at the unconscious level, and is not obvious until action is taken.

    

    This is the Chart of our Times. Understand it and choose to use the most favorable energies through your actions. May your individual contribution help the collective to move forward to a healthier Life, a healthier Earth, a healthier Society. Sat Nam.

The Themes of Saturn in Pisces

    When Saturn transited Aquarius, there were social restrictions, and separation was the norm because of fear of contagion, also control of society and of social communications. The typical Saturn work is through fear, contraction, restrictions, separation, and much discipline. However, those might be necessary in some cases to ensure giving form, stability and security to the themes associated with the Sign. At the collective level, there is often the lower manifestation of its influence, with some exception to the norm demonstrated by communities and individuals who vibrate their energy at a higher level. 

    Pisces is the Sign that completely lacks form in the sense associated with material reality. Its forms are ethereal, spacey, shapeless, limitless, and timeless. Pisces relates to the essential reality, the basic energy that is present in everything everywhere, indestructible, whence everything starts, where everything ends. Since he is the Lord of Time and Space, when Saturn comes here, he is not comfortable. The Piscean emotional ocean rises up submerging the mountain, like the Great Deluge. In this illustration, the mountain also represents the containment of the emotional ocean. 

One of the jobs of Saturn in Pisces is to give some kind of form to emotional expression. The way he does it is through new kinds of art, music, film and other types of performance.

    Then, Saturn can affect the subtle emotions of Pisces by giving a sense of discomfort for them. This could inhibit your emotional body.  An overwhelming emotional 'invasion' is burdensome.  You would try to repress emotions, limit or entirely block any expression of feelings. This could be so unbearable that you may block a compassionate response and may not be able to show kindness. 

Those unnatural reactions could be associated to significant collective events, or due to personal situations as a consequence of the world events. Those could push people to isolation due to lack of emotional release or support. I vividly remember my personal experience last time Saturn was in Pisces between 1994-1996. I had too many tears to cry and there was nothing we could do about it to receive some comfort, so I had to do with it. When Pisces is activated often brings an unavoidable essential oceanic reality. Saturn has always a lesson to teach, and in Pisces, you're learning how to deal with your vulnerable side, with your emotional body. You could have to sacrifice your ambitions, your social position and learn how to persist on your goals no matter how hard that could be.

    As much as Saturn blocks emotional expression, it also censures any kind of escapism. There could be a wave of cracking down on addictions, drug trafficking, alcohol, pornography and other such activities humans seek to experience relief from emotional overload. There could be a tendency to refuse altering substances, and promote abstinence and sobriety. Instead of escaping, people could strictly hold on to the structures of life for fear of the increasing insecurity coming from the environment or the world. Of course, governments may implement more serious regulations to limit drug traffic or lock up traffickers. On the other hand, the pharmaceutical industry could strengthen its grip on the control of the masses. The building of rehabilitation institutions will possibly be promoted. 

    Spirituality becomes more serious, while at the same time, the growing lack of faith may draw people out of organized religions even more. Due to the mutable duality of the Sign, the manifestation could reach opposite points. The New Age movements of spiritual practices may prescribe rituals in order to have tangible experience. Metaphysical disciplines are subject to purification, and may start being regulated in some way, in order to eliminate anything that is not authentic. Certain charity or compassionate service organizations may be restructured, and new ones may be built in order to fulfill humanitarian objectives. Given the discredit they have undergone in the last few decades, church organizations keep losing physical property, selling buildings in order to recover assets. On the other hand, hospitals, monasteries and ashrams may see the light of day as well.

    As Humanity starts to understand their importance for the survival on Earth, oceans might start to be cleaned in an organized way. There will be constructions to block or enclose the rising seas, but with the same token, ramparts could also break and structures be submerged. As entire ancient cities lie underwater since millennia ago, today low coastal cities could also be completely covered by the rising ocean in the near future (2023-2025), especially considering the presence of Neptune in the decan of Mars and Pluto.

or around 9,000 years ago, predating any known civilization.2 

    Saturn dislikes the Pisces lack of boundaries, so there will circumstances calling to more precisely define boundaries. Around the world, private individuals, corporations and governments try to draw more effective boundaries of different kinds. Borders between countries could become blurry and originate disputes. They may argue about maritime boundaries issues, especially related to fishing rights.

    Massive migrations of people are already the order of the day (Jupiter Neptune conjunction), and will need institutional humanitarian structures to contain them and assimilate them. The update and even upgrade of immigration policies and procedures should see the support of those countries receiving the bulk of the migrants. Expect that new rules are put in place to deal with this current issue. 

    Saturn on the Virgo Pisces axis of health and healing could bring about the restructuring of healthcare, hopefully making it available and affordable to all. In any case, Saturn could bring regulations for and promote the patent of vaccines and new medicines. You may see the strengthening of global institutions and organizations that control, impose and enforce healthcare rules. 

At a personal level, because of the mutable and dual nature of Pisces, in that zodiac house of your chart, you may oscillate between extremes learning about the following 

• structure your emotional life, or increase fear and anxiety of the unknown due to collective chaos
• spiritual abnegation, a spirit of sacrifice, or stifle your self-confidence and surrender
• decrease your ambitions, or delay of recognition, 
• unconscious fears, or how to make better decisions in that area of experience, 
• difficult life experiences help to learn how to manage the themes of the personal Pisces zodiac house,
• how to deal with your sensitivity or repress your emotional vulnerability, 
• ignore what is really important for you, or eliminate what is not authentic and find the actual truth, 
• either suppress your artistic/creative expression or give it tangible form
• you may swing between obeying the rules, or go with the flow and procrastinate.

Sun in Taurus -April 19 to May 19, 2022

    The Sun ingresses Taurus. Happy Birthday my Taurus friends and clients! Beware of surprises though! For all of us it means that we become better attuned with Nature, more stable but not without one or two shocks.  Normally, Taurus is steady and able to enjoy the small pleasures of life, like a good table, some sweets, and other activities using the senses. Homemade food is a delight to your palate. Listening to music a delight your ears. Find your favorite and enjoy! The quiet may not last too long.
We are already in the Taurus Scorpio Eclipse Season and by the end of the month the solar eclipse conjoins Uranus. This could bring a shake! Stay tuned and read about this eclipse here.

    The Sun at 0º Taurus squares the 0º Aquarius where Jupiter and Saturn conjoined on December 21, 2020. Every time a planet aspects this point in the sky some unconscious memory, as it were, comes out to show us the way onto the new Air Era that the sky chronocrators set up in motion. Just observe the world and your personal life, take note, and remember. Some time in the future those memories of the world to come will be significant.

    The Sun journey in Taurus is full of bumps. After the Solar Eclipse, he joins Uranus on May 5. You want to be different, do something unexpectedly. Find some time for relaxation, you’ll need it before the Sun conjoins Uranus. Moon conjunct Uranus first, just a few hours after the eclipse. The Sun a few days later. This means that our conscious and unconscious self are united to initiate innovation. People everywhere in the world are asking themselves and others, how do we need to change our way of producing food in order to ensure that we eat tomorrow. Uranus work is to fracture our stability and the Taurus inertia in order for us to understand that the economic activity as we know it is no longer working for our benefit. This 'fracture' transforms our values and desires, which translates in us changing our consumerism habits. Our eating and buying habits are changing drastically in response to this fracture.

    In the same way Uranus in Taurus accompanied the Great Depression between 1934 and 1941, he is drying out the climate, the land, the air. Strong wind carrying dust and sand will probably have damaging effects over different regions of the earth. Agriculture will be affected by drought and some fertile lands become deserts.

    However, Uranus works also like the strike of a thunderbolt in our intellect. People will come up with genius seeds of ideas in order to face the losses, the scarcity and the economic contraction. A higher level of consciousness will help us expand our awareness of reality, make radical transformations in our daily lives, operate sudden changes and adopt innovative methods of food production.

    Uranus rules Aquarius where Saturn is transiting, showing us that we need to restructure our social behavior. One way Saturn imposed restriction was social separation, but we can expect that other social restructuring is here to stay. More than ever before, people realize how important is the exchange of ideas, and finding your own like-minded group to pool together, unite the creative variety in order to build something new. The creation of the new paradigm is up to our collective collaboration and cooperative undertakings for the benefit of the local community.

    Soon after on May 7, Sun sextile Mars, and you're ready to take the opportunity to do it. One week later, the Sun joins the North Node. You receive a boost of energy and others congratulate you and admire you for what you have done. 

    However, by the middle of the day on May 15, the Sun is not so happy in square with Saturn.  Some serious situation blocks your project, and you need to stop and consider the long term repercussions of your ambition. You may also feel frustrated. You want to enjoy life, but are tied by restrictions, responsibilities, hard work, or a rigid and pessimistic attitude. Your self-expression takes a back seat, and most probably don’t even feel like having fun. You need to take responsibility for something, and rather work than watch TV. Be careful with harsh or rigid attitudes towards others. That would mostly happen because you really feel drained out of your vitality, tired, maybe somewhat pessimistic. If someone around you ignore this heavy attitude of yours, you may accuse that person of being selfish or childish. Remember that Saturn didn’t like childish behavior, in fact, he just ate his children to avoid having to deal with them!  (I hope at least you smiled at that) I’m sure you won’t want to eat your children, but you will discipline them more than you normally do.

If all that were not enough, right before leaving Taurus on May 19, the Sun trine the Mighty of the zodiac, Pluto. Pluto has been stationary, and turned retrograde on April 29, which means that he is digging deep in the 29th degree of Capricorn, and will do it until the end of June. This Sun Pluto trine will certainly not pass unnoticed. Authority figures might strengthen their power, possibly through manipulation or obscure dealings. On the bright side, it could be your opportunity for empowerment, or to build the necessary fortitude to succeed in some challenging task or endeavor. 

Use the Taurus season consciously and you could greatly benefit from these transits.

Taurus Solar Eclipse on the North Node

Venus leading Taurus from Pisces

     Last time there was a Taurus Solar Eclipse with the North Node in Taurus was in May 1985! 37 years ago. This means that two complete Nodal cycles (18.5 years) have passed until now. I found that significant considering the all the 'beginnings' were in Scorpio, a Sign of secrets, undercurrents, debt, investments, manipulations, codependence, hidden financial speculations, but also crime. Starting the Moon cycle in Taurus aim to self-empowerment, and autonomy. Also Taurus North Node calls to use your own energy, money and influence to promote your independence and that of others. For more on this Nodal Axis, read this article in my blog. 

    To find a Solar Eclipse on the Taurus North Node, you have to go back to these dates: May 19, 1985 at 28º49'; May 9, 1967 at 18º16'; May 20, 1966 at 28º55'; May 9, 1948 at 18º 30'; April 28, 1930 at 7º42'; or May 9, 1929 at 18º9'. If you were alive back then, go back Memory Lane to remember what happened then. This eclipse may bring similar issues. 

    A Solar Eclipse on the North Node is already a New Moon on steroids, or better yet on caffeine! If you add its conjunction to Uranus, this eclipse could be an explosion in the Zodiac house where it happens. This brings a great opportunity to break with the status quo in that area of experience. 

    On the North Node, the Solar Eclipse attracts, activates, brings unexpected circumstances or events that you won't always consider positive. Misconceptions abound about the North Node bringing good things, while it only means that it is an attractor. Even though it is the direction the collective is taking, it's unfamiliar territory, new additions, fresh endeavors, inexperienced works. 

    The chart has basically dominant Fixed Earth energy, meaning that it is hard to move, and there maybe some breaks in order to get what is coming. And with Uranus, breaks are guaranteed! Uranus is not a soft or consistent kind of influence, on the contrary, brings sudden liberation, original creativity, eccentric ideas, and emotional surprises. Usually Uranus breaks with the norms of how things are 'supposed' to be. 

    However, let's not overlook this hidden and subtle detail. Saturn is Contra-parallel both Sun and Moon, which means 'opposition'. So, there will be struggles, blocks, delays and difficulties getting what you are about to receive. Of course, at the same time, Saturn Contra-parallel Uranus, activating the long standing clash (last quarter square) that we felt all 2021, and will have the next 'chapter' around October 2022. 

    The ruler of the Eclipse is Venus in Pisces in conjunction with Jupiter and in close company of Neptune. Venus is considered doubly exalted, both in the degree and Sign of her exaltation. She may introduce otherworldly Venusian elements, like financial circumstances never seen before, or unheard of kinds of relationships and alliances. As she is the Goddess of social activity as well, you can expect odd and yet colorful ways to relate to others. If any of these fall in your fifth or seventh house, it may mean meeting some amazing person out of a movie or a spaceship. 

    Yet, Venus occupies the midpoint between Pluto and the previous Taurus eclipse we had last year at the end of the Sign. The present eclipse then can be the catalyst for the transformation started then. Venus sextile Pluto gives you a new understanding about how to change habits especially related to relationships and social life. It is also a good aspect to get great ideas about business, finances, or to create an artistic enterprise. There is also potential for good intense sex with your partner with great (Jupiter) enjoyment and unbelievable bliss (Neptune). 

    Last but not least, Mars sextile the Solar Eclipse contributes the courage, initiative and impulse necessary to do something, or to get what it's offered and you are ready to receive.

    Overall, it may be a time of a great surprise that will leave you in wonderment or stupefaction, but after the last two years, aren't we all ready for something new and good? Do you have a planet or point between 8 and 12 degrees of the fixed Signs, Taurus, Leo, Scorpio or Aquarius? Then your chart will vibrate and twinkle like a Christmas tree with this Solar Eclipse. It's a good time to order a reading with your favorite Astrologer!

Saturn Square the Nodes of the Moon

Uranus in Taurus with the North Node of the Moon

 

Squares to the Nodes are as significant as the conjunctions. Having a slower planet square them gives even more consequential developments. Those can be lasting for two reasons, one because it's Saturn Lord of Time, in this case, but also because Saturn will soon retrograde and activate this degree two more times (August 1, 2022 and January 1, 2023). Of course, the Moon cycles that degree every month as well.

In this cross position with the Moon's domain, Saturn shares with the Moon the timings of life. Saturn square the Nodal Axis at 22º♒️57', represents the revisit and revision of personal conditionings and rigid structures of life. Be it family, social, religious, behavioral or psychological, the ingrained conditioning of personal life have defined so far our lifestyle. Our fears and phobias limit our decisions. Guilt or repressed blame hurt us unconsciously and usually affect health. Criticism cripples relationships. And so on. Since Saturn is in Aquarius, the conditionings probably relate to your social alliances, to the dreams and goals you have as you participate in society, the groups of people you like to frequent, and social activity and your creative contribution to society. 

At this point you're taking responsibility for your life and all the implications resulting from those ancient and decadent conditionings. You have the opportunity to reestablish your inner authority. Recognizing those unconscious motivations that create your 'autopilot' mode, helps you to decondition and dismantle old crystallized structures of your personality. It's a good time to stop criticizing and being so tough on yourself... and on others.

At the collective level, Saturn in Aquarius operates a societal reorganization. The connectivity industry corporations implement a more rigid control over the social nets by reconditioning, restructuring, and increasing regulation. With multiple satellite launches (i.e. SpaceX Starlink) the old ways of communication are now a story of the past (Scorpio codependence). It's all about becoming autonomous and self sufficient (Taurus). 

By the same token, the traditional values and conventions of society have to evolve. They have in fact radically transformed, due to the sanitary concerns related to the pandemic. Social distance with a certain dose of misanthropy have replaced hugs and kisses, and is here to stay. The elbow rub became elbow bumps, and handshakes metamorphosed into Anjali Mudra bow. 

Personal relationships are evolving as well. Online dating and other social interactions seem to be more of the norm than the exception. And with that, people feel so much more isolated (if not alienated!) that addictions (online) and suicides are on the rise. Having to go home for schooling, youth suffer more than adults this sense of separation, often with fatal consequences. 

Tech companies have also restructured. Working remotely and virtual meetings are the new vogue. Even though the Air (Aquarius) is by definition lighter, now solidifies (Saturn) its grab. The evolution of lighter flying has come closer to the Earth surface with the drones. 

In all cases, Saturn in Aquarius square the Nodes is a change of direction, a revision and renewal of the Air structures of life. The forward direction is the simplicity and stability of Taurus. However, let us keep in mind that the North Node joins Uranus (ruler of Aquarius) there. Even the simple and steady ways of the bull are shaken to the core!
