The Healing Power of Self-Love - Full Moon in Libra

Full Moon in Libra

March 28, 2021 @ 1:50 pm CDT/18:50 UTC

A Full Moon in Libra strives for fairness, equanimity, conciliation, agreements, awakens awareness of the ‘otherness’, or relationships. As a Cardinal Sign, in a chart with highly cardinal energy, Libra demands a change of direction, especially in the healing of your vulnerabilities that are evident in relationships. This Full Moon awakens the subconscious sense of not being good enough, and it is projected or reflected on the ‘other’.

Do we 'connect'?

Libra ruler, Venus in Aries under the Sunrays, calls for healing through purification. On March 26 at 5º50’♈️ when she’s cazimi, Venus goes from Morning Star to Evening Star forming one of her 5 Star points. After being the Morning Star, as Venus is now ‘purified in the crucible’ of the Sun rays, the expression of your self-value and your relationships are especially highlighted for the rest of the year, since Venus goes through her Superior Conjunction with the Sun when the New Tropical Year starts. During the Morning Star period, Venus has probably been too daring, indulging in the sweetness of life, exceeding in the pursuit of pleasure, and it’s now time to face possible consequences of one kind or another. The Sun comes as the cathartic process, when you further your wisdom of the meaning and function of love and attraction in your life, and how to use them for your spiritual development. When after March 26, Venus comes on the other side as the Evening Star, you become more introspective, reserved and measured in the pursuit of sensual satisfaction.

Opposite the Libra Full Moon, Chiron sandwiched between Sun and Venus marks the start of a healing period, when one gains a higher level of consciousness, and is able to start healing one's sense of self (Aries). This implies having to face your most intimate feelings of not being ‘enough’, of vulnerability, inadequacy, rejection, abandonment, dissatisfaction, unacceptability, etc. that you charge against yourself. Both the Sun and Moon highlight the deepest wounds of your soul so you can acknowledge them, take responsibility for them and decide to heal. The light of the Sun, Venus and Chiron shining over the Moon’s surface at the time of the Full Moon reflects this loving self-healing, and injects compassion, harmony, goodwill, fairness and equanimity onto your psyche and emotional body. The whole process starts through and ends affecting all relationships, but also matures the way you relate to yourself and others.

On June 3d, 2020, Venus formed her previous Star Point at 13º Gemini conjunct her own Nodes and in square to Mars, the impulsive desire of life. Coincidentally, then as today, Chiron was direct at 8º Aries (May 14 to June 9, 2020). Even though with a four-degree orb, Venus was then square Chiron. In addition, in this Libra Full Moon chart, the 13º Gemini is sandwiched between Mars and the North Node, which evidences the reactivation of the same themes from last year at that time. Their joint energy means that there is a greater ambition, determination and drive against all odds, an increase in the desire to achieve your goals in your healing path. Looking at the covid19 statistics, the pandemic showed a downwards, or healing period, when the pandemic decreased its intensity.

Chiron has spent long periods at that 8º degree last year, Rx from Aug 14 to Sept 10; coinciding with the downward trend on the pandemic graphic. This year Chiron is at 8º from March 14 to 31; and later Nov 15 to Jan 23, 2022, first Rx, then turning direct at 8º 26’. If you believe the past statistics and Chiron’s associated role, you may expect a downward trend during those periods as well. (Of course, the effect is different for every country depending on which Zodiac House Chiron is transiting).

Full Moons are oppositions that manifest either in reflection or projection, also making for the full potential of the conditions or decisions started at the New Moon in Pisces. Another person or your present life circumstances around the day of the Full Moon can clearly show you (reflect or project) what you are accomplishing in this Moon cycle. Several of my clients consulting me now are experiencing situations that shed light on their deepest life wounding (Chiron), with, at the same time, a turning point when they are willing to plunge into the healing process. If you are feeling the maximum pressure, the extreme pain of your deepest personal wound it is because this is the time to take responsibility and embrace the healing.

Nevertheless, as you’ve seen in the news lately, there are people who are so much and deeply wounded, feeding their resentments, guilt, anger and fears, that are at a point where they are not able nor willing to allow for healing, and instead choose to inflict their own pain onto others.

As well as in the Pisces New Moon at the start of this Moon cycle, the Libra Full Moon still features MakeMake prominent participating with the Moon in a trine with Mars and Saturn. MakeMake "symbolizes the 'seed' of a New Beginning and of Life itself." MakeMake's sacred power is the Creation, and the mythical tradition represents the revival brought by the Spring season. Adds hope and stability to the new beginning.

The Moon inconjunct Uranus provides for unusual insights that illuminate solutions for the powerful opposition. This aspect is a disjoint between your uniqueness and the expectations. Unpredictable emotional reactions throw off your relationship dynamics, but not necessarily in a negative way. Because, becoming aware of how your wound impacts how you relate to others, you may decide to take a different approach.

For you, the healing process may have started a few days ago. Ruler of the North Node of the Moon, Mercury square Mars couldn’t avoid but spurt out your ‘well-kept undercover’ fear, guilt, resentment, anger. There were relationship clashes, or heated arguments, or simply a mental enlightening strike that revealed a certain truth to you. Some pain buried in the subconscious for a long time came to the surface and you had to express it, probably not in the most amorous way. Mercury in Pisces has us in contact with the spiritual reality and gives us an infinite perspective. The mind is able to grasp the metaphysic dimension of other lifetimes and help us understand our present challenges. You may have had revelatory dreams clearly showing your vulnerability. If you express yourself through art, your creativity may also have been a manifestation of buried subconscious pain.

Mars/North Node in Gemini and Saturn in Aquarius are two wings of a kite configuration that encourage and sustain the resolution of the Sun/Moon opposition of this (‘I versus You’) Aries/Libra axis. Saturn in Aquarius can teach us innovative social structures and strategies that can be applied to the general energy of this Full Moon chart. And Mars conjunct the North Node of the Moon in trine to Saturn supports a slow but perdurable building of mental patterns that resolve relationship issues through healing your own wounds. The mind makes lasting changes of direction and focus. And the applying trine from the Moon to Mars and Saturn, supports your emotional involvement in that process by focusing on fairness, objectivity, and equality (Libra Moon).

As always, when Chiron is involved so significantly, there is a wound that heals. Chiron in Aries reveals the self-identity wounding that plays out in your relationships. For instance, you could never find a partner that is 'good enough' if your inner story is always telling you that you are not 'good enough'. Or if you deceive yourself, you often find deceiving 'others' to play your inner wounding. The self-prophecy is always realized on the mirror of the 'other', where you are able to see who you really are.

This Full Moon in Libra is the most beautiful and compassionate I've seen in a long while. Venus involvement adds her unconditional love, helps to reevaluate your self-worth, and frees your self-expression. I hope you're able to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to become more aware of your wound, and heal yourself and your relationships.

Sat Nam.

Full Moon in Taurus - October 31, 2020

When the Wound Becomes the Healing

And Venus did it again!
Love is pouring over Humanity once more. Venus was the ruler of the New Moon in Libra, and she is the ruler of this Full Moon as well. This makes love the star of the month, if you understand tough love, of course.

Venus and Anchises (1889 or 1890) by William Blake Richmond

The Moon is at 8º of Taurus and the Sun at 8º Scorpio. Full Moons put us in front of a mirror. There could be another person, an event, situation, or the general circumstances, but whatever the case, it reflects an aspect of ourselves. Keeping that in mind, by watching ourselves in the looking glass, we are made aware of something important by the reflected Sunlight on the Moon face.

Chart by TimePassages, Astrograph

This particular Full Moon taps its power in the December 25th, 2019 Solar Eclipse, in a waxing trine. I invite you to visit my blog post, which, unsuspectingly, I then titled “Turn the last page of your old life”. That eclipse was at 4º of Capricorn, conjunct Jupiter, square to Chiron and trine Uranus! Little did we know at that time, the significance and scope of what that energy would bring to the world. As it did bring profound changes to the structures of our reality (Capricorn), spread widely throughout the world (Jupiter), wounding the very core of our human identity and capacity for survival (Chiron in Aries), with a surprising strike (Uranus). Venus was in Aquarius foreshadowing the social separation and the alternative virtual connection that we are now experiencing.

The current Full Moon conjunct Uranus makes a loud call. Uranus’ lightning bolt shines a striking light and surprise us with a realization. That Eureka moment most likely will show us a reality that, either we didn’t know, or we ignored. Because the 8th degree of Taurus belongs to the Taurus decanate and Virgo Dwadashamsha (subdivisions of the Sign)0, this revelation is certainly related to the healing and purification of the Earth body, of our body, but also the radical transformation of our values. The Virgo sub ‘flavor’ of it, adds a factor of discernment, for the ability to separate what is useful from what should be discarded (the wheat from the chaff).

Uranus, Greek God of the Heavens

Uranus in Taurus correlates to breaks in the ecological food chain, breaks in the food distribution system, disruptions and transformations in the economic system, and the availability of resources, unexpected or abnormal financial developments. Uranus in Taurus is an earth shaker, then natural catastrophes are not discarded, even earthquakes. However, with Uranus, no one can predict, because no matter what you expect, something entirely different may happen. The main symbolisms to remember are that Uranus is electricity and sudden shocks, and Taurus is the material aspects of life.

The Moon is applying to a quintile (71º angle) with out-of-bounds Ceres. Ceres at the critical 29th degree of Aquarius opposes Haumea and sextiles Black Moon Lilith in Taurus. Ceres in Aquarius represents the yin (feminine) attributes of nurturance in the community context. Being out-of-bounds, makes Ceres manifestation extreme. People are creating innovative ways to assist the victims of natural or man made catastrophes. We will probably see a surge in the nurturing urgency for communities in dire need for survival, like people coming in aid to extended family members, the creation of childcare coops, mothers’ support groups, people asking and receiving aid from friends, and humanitarian charity groups.1
Painting of Ceres, Goddess of Nature, by Evelyn de Morgan, 1906.

All that not without a pressing reason. On the one hand this Full Moon is also the culmination of the cycle started with the New Moon in Taurus in April this year. I invite you to recall what was that cycle about by watching my video titled "Are We Eating Tomorrow". On the other, Ceres opposite Vesta makes us aware of the needs of others, and invites us to learn to balance our needs with the moral responsibility we have towards nurturing others.2

In addition, Ceres trines Haumea, the TNP associated with the regeneration and fertility of Nature and the Earth. Mercury by Haumea’s side is sending her critical message, stating that Nature is in Labor and she needs support and care, safety, peace and gentleness so she is able to keep giving freely of her ‘fruit’. Another messenger is Black Moon Lilith in Taurus, asking ‘do we have enough to feel safe? Is there enough food to survive? She unveils the shadows of security in our fear of scarcity.3 There is urgency on this call, we should listen, understand and care.

Haumea, Goddess of Fecundity

The Sun, beaming his Kingly light from the sign of the shadows and the underworld, reigns over the Moon and Uranus. We are certain to be shown significant ‘decayed’ material extra clearly. The Sun in the 8th degree of Scorpio is in the Pisces Dwadashamsha, and the Scorpio decanate. These added sub influences to the original meaning, talk about a global or widespread regeneration of sorts. Scorpio is the sign of death and rebirth, so the Sun points to something dying to be reborn, something destroyed to be rebuilt, or decomposed to give birth to something new. Considering that both, the traditional and modern Scorpio rulers, Mars and Pluto are still square, reveals an enormous destructive tension between the signs of Aries and Capricorn, radiating indirectly to Libra and Cancer. With the accumulation of planets in those signs, there is an increase of the potential for change (Cardinal energy).

Let’s come back to Venus, ruler of both, the New and Full Moons. Although she has now regained dignity now traveling her own home sign of Libra, she quincunx this Full Moon. This means that her longing for harmony and peaceful social activity and relationships is at odds with the situation or events the Full Moon causes. Moreover, Venus opposes Chiron and squares that December 25, 2019 Solar Eclipse, reactivating the reason to ‘turn the last page of your old life’.

Venus and Chiron mirroring each other challenge us to love and embrace the wound as the instrument of the healing process. Chiron reminds us the we are all now wounded healers, and that the healing method is the wound. Instead of rejecting and projecting the wound onto others, we are to recognize that loving and accepting those who or that what have wounded us, paves the way to our own healing and renewal. This way, covid19 is our wounding healer, and Humanity is under homeopathic therapy. Thus, let us see ourselves in the mirror of our beloved. Chiron in Aries is all about ‘I am not good enough’. Venus on the opposite side in Libra as the ‘I love you’ symbol, seeks balance and reconciliation with ourselves.

This reconciliation can only be achieved by the purifying healing and rebirth that this Full Moon offers.
May all beings be well and safe! Sat Nam.

Full Moon in Virgo - Your Health, My Health! March 9, 2020

 Your Health, My Health!

Full Moon 19º37’ ♍️Virgo
March 9, 2020

Your Healing, My Healing
The Full Moon happens at 19º 37’ Virgo, with the Sun conjunct Neptune in Pisces.  Full Moons are always culminations by maximum opposition that allow for awareness of the issues related to the Signs involved. The Virgo Pisces axis of the zodiac is associated with health and healing, with energetic and physical imbalance, spirituality and practicality, service, charity, reclusion in hospitals and prisons, retreat and quarantine.

The Virgo Moon’s spotlights health, healing, cleaning, disinfection, organization, cleansing, detox, health related issues and activities.

The Sun with Neptune in Pisces sheds light or focuses on the confusion, the lack of boundaries, vulnerable immune system, and invisible ‘enemies’, i.e. germs.

Virgo’s symbol is a maiden separating the wheat from the chaff, which implies discrimination at the time of separating what’s good from what’s not. Virgo criticizes because it uses discernment to analyze, classify, organize. Virgo gives information in a logical thread of ideas, one ensuing from the other by reasonable association.

Thank goodness that Mercury turns direct today in Aquarius! Thoughts and communications become clearer, we can focus on the details, analyse, and organize data in order to come up with sound conclusions. Mercury, ruler of this Full Moon, now in Aquarius is sharp for scientific research, and access to higher knowledge to bring about innovation and cutting edge solutions. Between now and March 15th, take advantage of it and do your accounting, taxes, studies, and any administrative work, before Mercury re-enters Pisces until April 10th.

Pisces on the contrary, merges everything together, doesn’t have separations or distinctions. That's why, my health is your health, because we are all interconnected and interdependent. Pisces perceives by intuition and imagination, gives the whole insight in one piece, in an image or sequence of images like in a movie. In Pisces, it’s easy to be confused, to hide secrets, to conceal or diffuse information, or to have misinformation. However, the Sun may give some clarity now on the health issues, so we may finally have enough ‘light’ to understand them better.

However, as it is the case for all oppositions, it may exacerbate the polarization of opinions, which in turn will motivate people to dig out the truth more sensibly.

If you have a personal planet around the 20º of the mutable Signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius or Pisces), its related issues will be clearer. At a personal level, the Sun conjunct Neptune gives a sense of defeat, low energy level, suspension in time, disillusion, imaginary thinking, self-deception. Neptune debilitates the aura, the immune system and makes you vulnerable to secret enemies, like energetic attachment, or other people’s energy.

Let's do something about it
Sun sextiles Jupiter and Mars in Capricorn, which opens the possibility to act on increased clairvoyance, or intuition if you keep grounded in your spiritual practice. A bout of inspiration, compassionate concern for others, charity efforts, and professional knowledge could be of great service to the society as a whole if well coordinated and efficiently put to action.

However the same energy also magnifies idealization, imagination, even mental derangement.
You need to be careful though, and stay away from inflated delusions, especially acting up on them (Mars conjunct Jupiter). Just a few days ago a man called Mike Hughes died in California in a frustrated rocket launch because he’d said “his goal was to eventually fly to the edge of outer space to determine for himself whether the world is round.”

Moon trine Jupiter and Mars opens the possibility that the evolution of the spread of Covid-19 in affected and not affected countries, increases the efforts to control the illness. However, the situation escalates the effect on international trade and the friction in government relationships. There may be a need to modify and improve healthcare measures and responses already taken, in order to match the clearer understanding and knowledge uncovered under the influence of the Full Moon light.

The Moon sesquisquare (135º angle) and the Sun semi square (45º angle) the Venus Uranus conjunction. Even though, these are considered ‘minor’ aspects, their relevance is reflected in the consequences of this health crisis. The Covid-19 has a higher death toll than other forms of flu, impacts the flow of share resources, creating economic instability and commercial stress because of supply shortage, which in turn affect the global finances. The crisis impacts human affections because brings sudden unexpected social and relational changes. Families and loved ones may be separated, by isolation or death. Individuals have already been barred from displacement because of border closings or entire quarantine communities.

Don't give in to fear, but live mindfully of self and others, be proactive.

Conclusion

We are forced to come out of the dream land of Pisces, learn pertinent scientific information, and take active responsibility for our own life, without waiting for a 'patriarchal' figure to take care of us. More than ever, Human Beings realize that 'The other person is you' (Yogi Bhajan). We cannot continue believing that we can survive in isolation. We have created a global economic network without realizing that we would have to take responsibility for all implications. With this crisis, we are made accountable for our actions and inaction, and even for our intentions. May we all reflect on them, and decide to change our habits, so the Human Race can survive and thrive.

Full Moon in Leo - February 8-9, 2020

Show Your Creative Power

This Full Moon, the Sun in Aquarius opposes the Moon in Leo. The Moon is also in her perigee (closer) with respect to the Earth. Not  only does the Moon awaken demonstrative dramatic emotions, but those can really become critical if not tragic because of her closeness to the Earth. Super Moons appear really big in the night sky and bring such a strong energy pull that they may cause crises and violent events.

This kind of Lunation has the potential to intensify emotions to a point where you lose control and act impulsively even tragically blinded by them. People can take extreme measures, or actions that are unlike themselves, and turn out impossible to reverse. Stay calm, meditate, take time to reflect, breathe deeply before acting.

The Sun Moon opposition means some kind of 'culmination', acknowledgment, definite realization that can overwhelm or upset you in a way that you don't feel in control anymore. This energy may have different outlets. The collective consciousness that the Sun illuminates in Aquarius can be expressed in a dramatic way by the masses symbolized by the Moon in Leo.

In your personal life, this energy will probably be reflected in your significant relationships. You and your partner may need to find a balance between achieving goals and enjoying the moment, between committing and keeping your independence. Both Aquarius and Leo are fixed signs, which makes confrontations between partners very difficult to reconcile because they are both stubborn, and have a hard time changing things.

However, the Full Moon in Leo is also festive, full of natural vitality and youthful creativity. This weekend is a good time to add more joy to your life, sharing moments with a group of friends, going to a restaurant, or playing guitar and singing new songs.

The Moon trines Sagittarius Mars

Mars in Sagittarius adds his dose of fire to the chart exaggerating the passionate displays of the Lion's emotions. Mars gives the drive necessary to creatively express the heartfelt demonstrations of affection that the Moon in Leo generously wants to show. In order to say what your heart wants, you will feel the impulse to do something impressive, exciting, maybe exaggerated. Whatever Leo does is never small, but distinctive, magnificent, and noticeable.

Venus joins Chiron in Aries

This conjunction closes the cycle that Venus started in April 2019.  Do you remember a significant social, love or financial event or situation? Now, you're probably giving it closure, finally understanding, accepting and assimilating the implications, the 'lesson'. From now on, a new situation with the same theme starts for another round of learning. If you didn't get it then, this is a new opportunity, if you did get it, then this can be a deepening of the process. Venus conjunct Chiron will present a new opportunity to take the same theme to a higher level of personal development.

Mercury in Pisces

Mercury in Pisces means that your mind is not crystal clear, but kind of foggy. You're more prone to fantasy thinking. Mercury is in detriment in Pisces, which means that your mind has to work harder to find logic and reason. You’re more intuitive, imaginative instead. It’s a good transit for creative writing, to compose music, write a play or a movie script, poetry, short stories, novels, etc. Writers will be in their element!

Mercury entered the retrograde shadow (degree section where he travels back and forth) on February 2d. This means that all Mercury related affairs dealt from that point until the 16th when he turns retrograde, are up for review, reconsideration and probably rewriting. If you plan a trip, buy an electronic device, make a business deal, or have an issue with your sibling, it’s not definitive. If you don’t have a choice but sign a contract or make a big purchase, make sure you read carefully, ask all the pertinent questions, clarify all doubts. Listen to the soft voice of intuition, tune in to that sixth sense that knows without understanding why.

On the negative note, Mercury in Pisces is associated with delusions, confusion, lies, deceiving information, fake news, and creative realities that make believe but are far from the truth. You need to be careful, because Mercury will stay in Pisces until near the end of March because of its retrograde period.

Don't be surprised if you are in limbo, trying to figure out what’s going on, because Pisces is very spiritual, but can also be 'cloudy'. Not all conversation, speeches, messages you hear, receive, or participate in is clear and logical. In fact, most of the communication activity is kind of murky, based on fantasy, imaginative, confusing and probably deceitful. The Internet and the electronic devices may malfunction as well.

Enjoy the magnanimous, generous, magnificent, playful, cheerful, grandiose Full Moon in Leo!

Chiron in Aries and the Moon Phases

Foto credit Suzanne Haik-Hynes

The Moon traveling around the Zodiac (around the Earth) in 28 days aspects Chiron in Aries almost constantly even if for a couple of hours. This represents a constant emotional trigger of the issue Chiron represents in Aries for each of us.

Every month, then, the Moon goes through all the phases in her relationship with Chiron, conflicts, tension, challenges, crises and surrender. We can use the energy of this cycle to deliberately develop our healing.

Dane Rudhyar illustrated description of the Lunar Cycle

Conjunction

Our emotions are fully charged with Chiron's pain to the point that we can't deny it, we know exactly where it hurts. Our feelings about this vulnerability are raw, difficult to bare, we feel a victim of it. It seems we would never overcome the wound of being what it is -or who we are. Either we dwell on the suffering, or we look for a way out. We welcome new thoughts, envision a plan.

1st Quarter Square

During the period of the Moon transiting these 90º from Chiron, we started with a decisive impulse either to try to heal, or show our pain in actions. The intention becomes a goal. We look for a healing approach, or we complain in a 'poor me' mode every way we can. Around half way, there is a struggle, the healing  method presents a challenge, or we realize that the complaining doesn't take us anywhere.

Opposition

To reach the 180º, one encounters obstacles and needs to overcome them. We decide to take action, apply some remedy, or practice an appropriate healing technique or method that aligns with the previously set goal.  During this period, we may need to refine the process. Once the Moon opposes Chiron one sees the results of one's work.

3d Quarter Square

Another 90º forward, we find ourselves in introspection, reassessing the process. We may feel grateful for the results. We have gained some revealing insights about how the Chiron wound works in our life. So, we are ready to let go of a piece of the pain and suffering. We assimilate the healing like fresh water in a hot day.

Balsamic and New Moon (again)

During the last 90º of the Moon's travel around the Earth, we are able to have a new perception of our Chironic vulnerability. Having worked for three weeks on the issue is like seeing things clearer through a new prescription of glasses. We understand ourselves better and surrender to what is. But, wait. Here it comes again, the Moon meets Chiron again and the emotions awake yet another face of the wound.

So the cycle starts all over again. Month to month, we can heal a bit at a time at an ever higher level of consciousness. In fact, this is the way we grow through all the planetary cycles. Every planet relates to another through the same cycle.

June Chiron Moon Cycle

Conjunction May 29
First Quarter Square June 4
Opposition June 11
Third Quarter Square June 17
New Conjunction June 25

Now you have the key. Enjoy the process and make it a great month! Sat Nam!
